Thank you so much for this well-explained tutorial! I have a Pfaff Coverlock which converts to coverstitch as well and I have the same attachment, but had no idea about how to use it. I was wondering if this could be used to attach fold over elastic to panties, but since the elastic would have to be pulled a bit, perhaps not?

Thank you for the video. Can you please tell me what cause it to not go straight? I didn’t even insert the neckline, I was just testing a very long strip to make sure that it’s straight and consistent, unfortunately it keeps going to the left side (which eventually would fall of the bias). I truly hope you can help me. Thanks

It seems its a one to one ratio of neck edge and binding. What if you need the binding to "pull" in the neck edge a little. Is that when you'd use the differential feed?

No, the way it feeds the neck binding through the feeder causes it to stretch a little so it is perfect. If it has a fault it is that if you use a very stretchy fabric you would probably want to stabilize it a little or it will end up gathering the neck edge.

Is this binder attachment specifically for the baby lock ovation? Are there a woven & stretch versions for the Ovation? What part name/number is it? I have a Janome Memory Craft and am not so patiently waiting for my sewing store to get the binder attachment in for it....but have also been searching (to no avail until I happened on to your video-TY!) for a binder attachment for my Ovation.

Does the 8mm and 100mm also work on the triumph?

Thank you for your video I'm trying to use the binder attachment but it keeps twisting as I feed the lycra through the attachment - any ideas?

It helps to feed binder from a spool. I have a spool from Erika’s Siskrin that works bery well. I’ve also seen a hack whereby a screwdriver is taped to the left side of the machine, tip pointing up, forming a spool pin. Onto that place a thread spool that serves as a place to wind/dispense the binding.

Can a neck binding be sewn on after both shoulder seams are sewn or will I need to leave one then sew after the binding is on?

No you absolutely have to leave one shoulder open. You need somewhere to sew the neck binding ends together and an open should seam is the best place unless you happen to have an opening in the center back. Sorry for the delay I was away teaching.
