    Looks like an awesome fist CCR that will fit my dive applications perfectly! Can't wait to see more as the Sidewinder 2 comes online and divers start to get their hands on the unit. Looking amazing so far! Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter

    Rebreathers in and of themselves are cool technology in general. This is a whole new level of cool. I really like the utility of the system!

    Sw2 seems so amazing I want one so bad ): water proof and you can single tank it on the back that’s awesome! Such a genius!

    TAKE MY MONEY! Any chance one of these might show up at the Meetup in Bonaire?
    Seriously though, this is an AMAZING piece of engineering. It looks like it will fill most every niche of diving. I will need to find out when and where to put a deposit down on this here piece of engineering artistry.

    They clearly built it with CE certification in mind with the side-benefits of being able to go deeper and run longer. Assuming it meets expectations, it's going to be the new gold standard rebreather. Literally the do-it-all rebreather. Want to spend half a day pushing a tight, deep cave? No problem, sidemount it and go! Want to hop off a boat for some casual lionfish annihilation? No problem, strap it on a backplate with an AL80 and go at it! Wreck diving? No problem.
    Really curious to see the WOB numbers compared to the Meg. If they can match the Meg... this will be *the rebreather* to do it all. Oh... and now I want to know if you can mount two of them, one backmount and one sidemount :D

      There will be instructors that can teach on the unit including doing crossover training from other units if applicable.

    Why can't a design prevent water from ever contacting sorb with a water impermeable layer like he mentioned with goretex or other?

    • @DataScienceDIY
      @DataScienceDIY Год назад +2

      At least two reasons I can think of. Work of breathing would go up significantly. There are no materials that can allow significant airflow and prevent water intrusion without also require much higher pressure across the membrane. If the water impermeable membrane did get covered in water it could completely block airflow. Would you rather have some wet sorb, or have your rebreather stop allowing airflow?

    future dive talk reacts is gonna be someone forgetting to reopen the breathing channel...
