@@danielsettle3942 thankfully for me I am older player strated in Modoc season so am pretty well of but I get you the first series 5 I ever pulled was jeff lol
I stopped consistently playing Snap a while ago, but since then there have been multiple times where a card catches my eye and makes me want to come back. So I download the game again, and immediately feel crushingly behind as I try to brush up on the meta. I'll still stick around to try and get the card I came back for, but most of the time I fail to get it, with months and months before it comes back. So I quit again, making the problem worse the next time I want to come back. It's one of the worst returning player experiences I've ever had in a game. It feels like the whole time the game is mocking me for having left, not welcoming me back.
I feel this too as I stopped playing in august 2023 and come back last month. It's a depressing experience coming back to Snap after sooo long. Every time I go watch what can I play, 4 to 6 cards are missing from my collection. And they're all S5. The few decks that I can play, while "viable", are mostly boring or countered hard by newer cards. I'm feeling like I'm playing a game in nightmare mode. Especially considering that I am mostly a f2p player and that I'll never catch up with this card acquisition system. It's like you said. It's like they don't want you back if you left.
I just quit again for the 3rd or 4th time. Some new card or deck or a random YT video tempts me back in, I realise I'm missing key cards in most of the best decks, spend some money to catch up, quickly get sick of doing chores and losing to cards I don't have but feel locked in for at least the next season or two because of sunk costs fallacy then rapidly burn out again. When I returned most recently the game offered me a 24 hour only "Welcome Back" bundle containing Alioth for $20. Despite that being good value compared to their usual overpricing of cards I didn't buy it because I honestly felt insulted that this was the best they had to offer for returning players. Snap makes me feel like a hamster on a treadmill. Pokemon Pocket has been a breath of fresh air by comparison.
@@RocktoonStudios By "meta" we mean the set of cards or strategies that are currently performing better than others. This can change with a patch or the introduction of new cards that strengthen an existing deck or create new archetypes.
The monetization in SNAP has overtaken the progress of the game itself. 2 years in and one game mode? Draft mode isn't here cuz they can't "make it balanced?" They can't figure out how to make money off it is the actual reason. The patches and OTAs are rarely more than +1/-1 changes. They aren't even hiding it anymore. I've spent more on SNAP than any other mobile game i've ever played. Have not touched it since Pokemon Pocket came out.
@@troillandford7679 Totally off the point. If you don't have all the cards what's the point of collecting variants. Cards win u games not variants. New and returning player hardly catch up collecting cards with so many cards coming out each week. That's the point of the video.
I remember when they gave everyone Kitty Pryde cause of a bug. That was a level of compensation that I would much rather see than one random epic variant. The log-in bonuses have been a nice little treat.
Dude I had a Selene “deal” in my shop which included the card and 6k gold for… $75!!!! Who in their right mind thought offering one of the worst cards in the game for more cash that most triple A games was a good idea.
Because snap is sort of a lifestyle? Any game anyone invests in becomes a part of their life. Unless you actually play free games like console or w.e. I only put money into one game. Snap. Cause i am proud of my progress and gameplay and collection. Pokemon seems to have a worser card acquisition for splits so most likely you be spending about the same cause pokemon is a gatcha. Snap offers a variety of different offers/options and you know what your getting. I think ppl are frustrated cause they cant own everything in snap. And that says something about snap. Ppl are frustrated cause it really is an amazing game. And compared to certain other games where ppl literally drop like 100k into it, no joke, this games not that bad. Plus most of the money snap makes is on cosmetics? Cards can be fairly easy to get. Just dumb players imo…
On a serious note, I’m hoping that Bazaar is going to be a hit and have a good f2p experience so that I could stop playing snap for good. It almost seems like snap is intentionally trying to drive its playerbase away. What’s the deal with quietly removing gold from conquest shop, for example?
@@erinspitfire Snap used to be a good f2p game in which you arent pressured as much with the new cards as you had many ways of getting them, now as with all games its all about making lots of money.
It's honestly hard to keep playing marvel snap. The gameplay is amazing but it feels like I have to play so much to even have a chance at new cards. My friends have stopped playing so it's not as fun either. I understand they need to make money but I wish that they tried to make money with variants rather than new cards. PEOPLE WILL SPEND MONEY ON VARIANTS! LET ME HAVE MY NEW CARDS. That's the end of my rant. 🙏
Same, literally didn't fun that much fun anymore but the fans gonna defense their practice so badly. They should not gate keeping their new cards with a hard earned resources that the majority of that resources can only be get by spending gold. Tokens literally feels so useless and not only that, the prices remains of the same
People would also probably spend if they just made better deals too. That £3 webshop bundle had 1500 credits + an iron man was incredible and they should do more like that. It's digital currency.
I’m someone who, up until this month, has played Snap pretty fervently each day for two years straight, rarely missing missions and drawn each new season by the pre-infinite ladder climb. The start of these last two seasons, though, I’ve just felt a disconnect with the game, not having that same feeling of excitement. I’m usually infinite by day 2-3, but have decided to take it a bit slower this season. I’m a 100% F2P player, missing only 24 cards (with 7 being season pass cards). Even so, it’s harder to build the cooler, newer decks because I’m usually missing 1-2, sometimes up to 3-5, cards and that’s what I really love about the game - being able to experience playing as many new cards and decks. At my CL though (17k+), earning new cards outside the spotlight caches is practically nonexistent, as we all know. Pocket doesn’t match Snap’s gameplay, but the difficulty in obtaining cards and in game resources in Snap (not to mention that practically every bundle is a cash bundle, and an extravagantly expensive one at that) has become a bit more off putting lately. Also, can SD please get rid of the Series 4/5 rotation from the shop? Just let us directly buy the cards we want, it’s so frustrating!
I know right. Sometimes it feels like a gold ticket collection game instead of a card collection game. Every time I get a gold ticket I report it as a bug.
@@Moddox77this is literally one of the reasons i still not open my collector vault. Why the hell i should get a ticket for a game mode that i will never play
I stopped playing Snap completely, but i still find it fun watching gameplay. The biggest thing that made me take this decision was that the amount of time demanded to progress and unlock new cards was just not worth it.
I actually decided to quit Marvel Snap about two weeks or so ago. I started a while back with the original Black Panther season pass, then took a break that coincided with TLSG's youtube going on hiatus. I came back because I really did enjoy the card variants and the speed of games, but the absolute glacial pace you acquire cards and resources is unforgivable. I'd rather just play a card game like Slay the Spire or Belatro that doesn't require me to keep up with a sweaty meta of other players by spending more and more cash and time. High Voltage was a nice swan song; I had more fun with that mode than I did trying and failing to climb to infinite the last three seasons. I do plan to stay subscribed to you and TLSG though, and weirdly enough even though I barely played Hearthstone, I recently watched a few of your videos for it and found them equally entertaining.
I also have switched most of my tablet gaming time to Balatro from Snap. They’re not really in the same gamespace, but it’s nice playing a game that isn’t trying to sell me stuff all the time.
The part that I hate in snap is it require a lot of time demanding . Gameplay is best but I will move to a game that require less of time demanding from me. Game should not be a job.
Why are Collectors tokens so rare? Can't even save enough over multiple seasons to buy one S4/5 card. I remember when you'd get quite a few and could save up to 6k within a season
been playing essentially every single day since march, f2p besides season pass, and only been able to save up for 2 season 4 cards in all that time. and both times i had to get the 2000 from buying 10 variants to afford it. it’s unreasonable
So you spent 7 to 8000 gold on variants to get the tokens when you could have just bought tokens with that gold? Sounds like you don’t know how the system works at all
@@junipetta1595 the main way of getting tokens now is turning your gold into them. I like variants too but you can't complain about the way you spend your own ressources
What broke the camel's back for me in Marvel snap was when they started removing gold from everywhere 😡 They even leaked that with the new clans there would be gold in the rewards, something that was removed at the last minute
I completely agree with what you are saying when it comes to trying to play catch up and get the cards I need to build an enjoyable deck. Then you get burned out on playing this one deck and try another but your missing cards to make it work, so you get stomped. Then your tilted and done playing. I haven’t played in months and I know the whole has just gotten bigger.
As a Hearthstone first player who dropped Snap 6 months ago - I wonder if the willingness of content creator swapping is entirely due to the age of the game. When Snap released Hearthstone had 8+ years to build loyalty and player investment. Snap only has 2 years, and based on the consistent complaints I see regarding collection, I wonder if players just don’t feel that attachment.
I mean I’m playing both but I’ll admit that I’m getting generally less interested in snap as a whole. I think my issue has been for a while that it’s hard to get excited for new cards when I feel like I can’t use them because they require me to have cards that I chose to skip. I’m a sucker for symbiotes so I saved up keys to let me get all the new cards for the season and I was pretty disappointed because I couldn’t make use of most of them without a bunch of other cards I didn’t have. With Pokemon I’m enjoying not having to grind rewards. It’s very relaxed, and while I think the whole thing is a bit basic right now I appreciate that it doesn’t feel like a job. Snap has added a bunch of stuff that is just so time consuming. I really suspect that if I quit playing for too long I might not come back. I just don’t really want to deal with the grind.
Dropped snap last month. It’s crazy that I spend 15 bucks a month on the game, and never feel like I can catch up. I’ve also been playing since beta. If I miss a card, it’s ages before you get the chance to get it again. They really messed up with the monetization and card acquisition changes.
@@RegisKillbin I think the thing that cracks me up is their ads that play that say "Imagine if you couldn't just come in and buy the card you wanted!" And it's 100% true. You could spend hundreds of dollars on getting the materials to get the things to try to unlock cards...and STILL not get the card you want, lol. I took about a 6 month break from snap, and I just recently came back and I feel AWFUL. It makes me not want to keep playing, because now I'm missing ALL of these meta cards, and the decks I DID have have been completely gutted. Thanos isn't even the same card anymore, which suuuuucks, because one of my favorite infinite decks used him a good bit. So here I am, deck-less and behind, and it just doesn't feel good.
@@RegisKillbin I stopped playing Snap because having to vs bots for days on end to unlock the ability to play fun games against real people was miserable and felt like a chore. I still watch content for the game but the longer I leave it the longer the grind to fun games became so I just never got back into it.
@RegisKillbin Collectors Reserve rewards sometimes feels downright insulting with infrequent you get alt arts. Even worse when you get a gold ticket. Getting new cards is starting to become such a slow grind. Even the spotlight cache is randomized so you may not even get the card you want. The rate at which you get tokens is so slow that you can start feeling really behind in cards real quick. It's a fun game but man do I not feel as insentivised to log in anymore.
The thing about Pokemon Pocket Vs Snap is that I really think that Snap still holds the better gameplay over Pokemon Pocket. I get that this is a completely subjective view point, but not having simultaneous turns is such a backwards step imo for card games. It really has been revolutionary for me in that I can play really quick games and "who goes first or second" balance issue isn't a thing in snap. However, Pokemon (especially when you first start your account) has a way more satisfying collection system. However, I really don't know if Pokemon will be able to keep it's momentum as I've found that it's difficult to make meta decks without spending money and there really isn't that much to do in the game at the moment. It's just a loop of logging on every 12 hours to open a pack which usually contains nothing good. Overall, I think its a good thing that Snap is getting some competition because the lack of new features and generally frustrating issues (bugs not being fixed for months etc) may actually get resolved.
About a month ago, I got back into playing Hearthstone and Marvel Snap, and they were very different experiences. In Hearthstone, they offered me a complete deck for free, with a choice among 8 options. I usually focus on playing 3 classes and often dismantle cards from other classes, so I had a good amount of dust to craft new cards. So, shortly after coming back, within less than an hour, I already had 3 'meta'/competitive decks. In Snap, all I could think about was how far behind I was. It's so slow to get specific essential cards for some decks, even series 3, it’s pure suffering. I also recently joined Pokémon Pocket, and even there, they have a system to craft specific cards if you have the resources, which is great when all you're missing are common cards. Marvel Snap has a long way to go to improve the experience for new and returning players.
I hate how hard it is to obtain new cards in this game. I wish all the reserves were exclusively new cards until you had all cards unlocked. I don't have any of the current meta cards for most of the archetypes i like to play and have absolutely no agency in working to obtain those cards. It's so frustrating.
You are probably spending your keys poorly. Never open for just one card- open for at least 2 you don't have as long as one of them is actually good. I have 33 keys saved, and I don't feel like I really need the cards I don't have. Whatever you miss will come back with one new card in that spotlight week.
opened 1000 reserves and got about a dozen new variants - and got enough tokens to get yourself (like you said) 1/3 RD of a spotlight card/ That tells you everything you need to know about how hard it is to get new cards in this game - it sucks real bad.
I actually still enjoy Snap, but yes it could be so much better. Remember the free pool card every month where you could pick one? But what I'd REALLY like is a way to simply purchase old cards you missed, say for 5 bucks. A store section where you can filter ones you don't have. I'm sure that will bring in lots of money. I get it, the new and shiny OP card concept works, and to a degree the grind too. Just give people the option to pick and choose as well.
Kinda hated when snap did the move to severely limit players from acquiring cards. First the key system, 2nd the removal of gold from chests, 3rd the nerf of the tokens etc in general made it hard for pple to acquire cards Not to mention the downgrade of the tier of cards 5 to 4 to 3 takes ages, has it even been a year since they did a downgrade of tiers? I know second dinner needs to make money, but them getting greedier n greedier will b a downfall for them.
I find it very frustrating that you could miss 1 week of not getting a new card and can't compete with the current meta. I mean sure, there is always a counter but its just exhausting and expensive to keep up at times..
I stopped playing Snap a few months ago, but still watch every one of your videos. All to say that I'm baffled by your comments regarding the lack of creator support & engagement, I don't watch your videos for the gameplay, its for your opinions & personality. The fact that SD haven't leaned into that heavily is wild to me. I also watch some of your Pocket videos. Im glad you're branching out, have fun 😊
@Regis Thank you for your insights. You spoke of things that I hope SD begin to address. Love you and your content. Pixel Sunspot is fire though, looks great in gold! That Juggernaut is one of the best variants in the game. The color contrast really looks great!
Regis, we would absolutely love if you started to use your variants 🥺 I know why you use the base cards, but why don't you give it a try? Also, we would love to watch a whole video of you choosing the variants for each card in your collection ❤

i got over this pokemon tcg honeymoon phase pretty quickly, i don't really get what that game has that is so interesting and engaging. and it's baffling how people really believe that game has a better acquisition system than snap
I will say that Pocket just released and they already did 2 events that give you free cards straight up. Some actual powerful cards at that (Mankey/Lapras) and thats just from playing the game. If that is within the first month of the game release, it could set precedence of what to expect for how progression will be because it's a collection game first and battler second. In Snap as F2P its tough to get all the cards on release without spending any money. I don't even know if that's possible honestly.
@@COA5Tppl always saying and looking for a f2p. Its good to support the developers. Nothing is truly free. I understand that ppl may not have a lot of money, but then just go play a console game or something? Etc. Pokemon feels like a low key gatcha game and once more sets come out i feel like ppl will fall behind. Probably y they also include trading, not to mention the rates of packs to get some of these rares. There is no way youll be able to get some of these rare cards without putting money into the game. At least with snap you know what you are getting. Variants, tokens, gold, credits, borders, new card. And they include a variety of options/offers. Plus the gameplay is far more superior than pokemon. To me the investment is worth it. Snap makes more money on cosmetics than the actual cards imo. And its crazy when ppl say they cant play the game when they miss out on one or two cards. The meta changes and every card in the game has its moment. Ppl always just tryna play meta decks etc. Just dumb players imo
I agree. Its a gatcha game. Pay money and mb youll get a good card / split. Not to mention all the sets that will be released lol etc. goodluck not spending any money - and when u do itll probably be trash cards.
I quit Marvel Snap more than a year ago, angry with the monetization and how much it was costing me. My collection was 100% complete. I watch your videos still and sometimes I think wow I do miss playing that. And then I realize it's like a $400 investment or more to get back to being able to build decks that are competitive. Snap's collection and monetization make it a permanent quit when you quit. Every day I delay, it gets more difficult to return, and at this point it's basically never going to be worth it.
Love the content Regis, been watching you since the early HS days. As someone who started playing SNAP in beta, then took a break for around 6 months, a year and a half after full release. It felt impossible to come back to the game, too many missed cards with no real way of obtaining them made me stop for good after a month.
I started playing Snap when Kate Bishop was released. Played as often as possible but it felt like I was collecting cards at a slower rate than they were being released. Too many rewards are only for variants you already own.
Thank you for speaking out about Snap's current state. Some of us have spent a lot of money in the game because it started really good and now we're just hoping that it will get better again...
The monetization in the game is getting more and more out of hand. So little reward for playing the game as far as progression or rewards. Game modes like High Voltage should be permanent for a more casual/quick mode. Need a draft mode. Should definitely be getting more then 100 tokens in the reserves and should be getting a lot more series drops. I will say that getting cards and duplicates feels pretty bad in Pokémon Pocket. If you’re not spending money it feels worse than Snap imo, at least as a new player. “So much time and so many moments and opportunities to really sure things up with players and instead they’ve often chipped away at the loyalty and trust of players” That line was very well said and I fully agree.
Totally agree on the pain in returning. I left a year ago with a complete collection - last card was Martyr - and had an itch to play. I can’t compete with a lot of the decks because I don’t have Skaar, White Widow, Cannonball, and so many more. And there’s no way to catch up. An occasional old card in caches would be great.
Can't believe I was somehow not subscribed already. I think you are definitely one of my absolute favourite Marvel Snap RUclipsr. Hope to see you sticking around the game even if it is flawed.
Pokémon just reminded everyone how exciting it should feel to open rewards, something that’s been missing ever since Marvel Snap introduced the Spotlight system. I’m sure a lot of players have stopped opening caches after that change. And the fact that cards like Darkhawk or Knull are still stuck in Series 4 even after two years pretty much says it all.
Also one nice thing about pokemon pocket is there's no consequences for losing so there's like no pressure to play the best deck ever!!! Like it's nice that people just go hey here's a deck that was fun and did a thing.
I think this is the biggest part TCG Pocket is absolutely crushing. The pack opening experience and the feeling of getting new cards in Pocket is immaculate. I've been playing Pocket a lot after hitting Infinite (I used Surtur, didn't take very long) and I haven't even touched Snap after that.
Haven't played since the summer. Funny enough, it was Cannonball that made me leave since he got basically every control piece nerfed and that was my favorite deck. In my opinion, though this may be unpopular, I think the progression with the spotlight caches and keys actually started pretty good. There were issues obviously, but with only four new cards coming out and only 3 in the caches every month it felt pretty attainable to get at least two. My personal feeling as for why progression feels so terrible now is that five cards release every month, and that's just too much for anyone to realistically keep up with. There's no longer that buffer week at the start of a season to help preserve keys. I think if they went back to four cards a month and put a reasonable amount of tokens in the collection track things would feel WAY better progression wise. But, just cause that's the biggest problem it's the root cause. The team still hasn't got a handle on balance two years in tbh. New releases are less outwardly broken, yes, but that's come at the cost of routinely dismantling entire archetypes. Like, was Thanos overtuned? Yeah, but Darkhawk counters it, except Darkhawk got blasted for being ovetuned because its counter, control, got blasted for being annoying... But, like, that was the point of it? To stop combo decks using cards everybody has for the most part. Now there's nothing keeping whatever combo deck is the most broken next from totally dominating, and that deck will definitely have more than a few new cards in it, driving people to feel bad about progression even more. It's even worse that most of the nerf targets are series 1/2/3 cards to protect the series 4/5 cards while they're still new. The team has a habit of just breaking whatever is overpreforming completely, then moving on to break the next thing. It's a sad reality that most of the decks I liked to play (Sera Control, Silver Surfer, Cerebro 3, and Kitty Bounce) are no longer playable to any extent. I wish they'd just ban certain cards from ranked and have a casual mode or something... At least then those decks would still be playable somewhere. As it is I cant even really enjoy old content for the game because the cards are just so radically different from how they are presently it makes me feel like I slipped into another dimension.
Snap needs more modes and events like High Voltage. Nothing kills players faster than loosing over and over in ranked because they don’t have the hot meta dominating or anti meta cards. So now the player is behind in cards and rank. That would be a good motivation for someone to jump to Pokemon.
I quit Master Duel after their shitty first link event in favor of Snap. Been playing for over a year but last season in particular hit hard for me as now I'm S3 complete and the overall way that the devs balance the game just grates at me. Nerfing a card a week after they leave the caches, offering only a small amount of tokens per dupe. It makes me not wanna play and that's basically what I've done; not played. Pokemon Pocket has been a huge breath of fresh air though. I'm loving it so much more right now.
I genuinely hope that snap loses a serious amount of their playerbase because of pocket. SD gets so much criticism but they just dont do shit about it because there wasnt any competition. Until now.
I feel that the game is in a low and the monetization has become worse, like I just tend to ignore the packs tab in the store but now I'm getting card bundles, Gladiator for $77 appeared and it was weird
I’m a new player - just started a few weeks ago - so it’s interesting to see longtime players talking about how they feel the game is dead. (I’m having a good time so far at least!) All I can provide with my perspective is that, at least personally, I’ve never had the thought of “man if only I had THIS card then I could really play the game” as matchmaking (at least in the low 400s and before) doesn’t really put you in a position where you’ll encounter top meta decks. There are some archetypes that I just can’t play at all until I get more cards, which can be annoying, but I’m having a blast just working with what the game gives me in the meantime. Maybe I’m immune to complaints about powercreep and poor player experience because my main mobile game outside of this is Fire Emblem Heroes, lmao.
Regis, you hit the nail on the head. I am 30k+ CL 22 time infinite with a lot of time playing the game. As i haven't been super unhappy about the state of SNAP I have been increasingly annoyed at how HARD it is to bring in my friends to play. Look at Pokemon Pocket. I have multiple friends who were able to make a meta deck entirely F2P. Here we are, able to play together right out of the box. Its....FUN... and I have found myself logging in less and less to SNAP. They needs to reel us back in because if I get too far behind in SNAP I will just cut bait. The acquisition system is designed to keep us in logging/spending just to remain relevant in the meta....once im off that track...I cannot say I will care enough to get back on it..... Great conversation....I feel better knowing there are a lot of other players feeling the "pull away" from SNAP...
I left Marvel Snap over a month ago and I've never felt better I didn't realize just how much pressure I was feeling to just simply keep up not just with cards, but with the fast paced evolution of new decks becoming viable. Pokemon Pocket has filled the void of being casual enough I don't feel pressured to "keep up" and I can still get excited to try out a new deck as I know I can acquire the pieces relatively quickly without spending real world money to get it. Only time will tell though on how the game progresses.
Uh... yeah I dunno about that. No one at Second Dinner ever asks me what I think or tells me anything. I haven't spoken to anyone there in like 6 months. It's been VERY different from my relationship with Blizzard, where I'm regularly in contact with community and dev folks and they're always chatting me up. I just don't think they prioritize the community and "gamer" side of Marvel Snap, feel like it's run more like a mobile game than like a gamer's game. I have no idea, but it seems like the kinda situation where they're way more interested in like mobile metrics than whoever is complaining on reddit or RUclips or whatever.
I try to not let others opinons get to me man but my god the constant negativity about this game is really starting to get too me I feel like it’s almost every video I see on this game now where ppl are asking is the game dead? Or constantly comparing it too pocket. One of the top comments are always somebody who quit snap recently, I hope snap does something to start addressing these concerns because this daily ranting and negative sentiment around the game is going to start tearing the community apart
There was a time i was playing everyday, but even with that i got to much behind in therms of cards because i couldn't get all the keys, everything started to get frustrating because there was so many cards that i didn't have to enjoy the game. So i stopped playing the game, but i still watch your videos because i like the game i just don't have what it takes to play it sadly
I just don’t get why they can’t make little changes that would make a world of a difference. Instead of giving us gold tickets in caches give us gold. I’d gladly take 25 gold instead of a gold ticket. You look at bundles with tokens in them and they’re absurdly priced so SD clearly values them but it’s a slap in the face to get 2000 tokens if we open a repeat spotlight cache. It should be atleast half the value of a new series 5 card since every new card is series 5(unless they’re hidden behind a game mode). The game should feel rewarding for playing it. Instead you open caches or spotlight caches and it feels like a kick in the privates while being punched in the chin.
I stopped playing snap along time ago, it just requires to much money. I still watch every video you make though as the game play is perfect and you have more money then I do lol.
I’ve picked up Pokémon Pocket but still play Snap as well. I don’t disagree with the issues Snap has, but I’ve had a relatively good time with card acquisition. I almost feel that Pocket has too much going on in it, and worry it will continue that way beyond the launch fervor. I’m more worried about missing things in Pocket because of the event-limited cards and cosmetics. We don’t know yet if there will be any rotations. Also, is Regis actually the #1 Snap RUclipsr or was that a joke? If so, congrats, that’s awesome! Certainly my favorite.
As someone who watches your videos I literally don't even play the game anymore because as a busy person and free to play it's beyond impossible to ever keep up with anything. I'll occasionally place with a basic boring deck that kinda does well like 2 or 3 times a week
I agree they need to treat their players better and hopefully Pocket shows them that. I still haven't tried it but I'm still interested. For a content program I'd expect them to help provide the content but instead you only get 2,000 gold and have to get every card with your own revenue, which works but it sounds pointless to be a part of the program in that case. Personally I'd like better bundles. Inflation can't be a reason because they're just printing digital currency. 1's and 0's that only have value because of the absurd prices they attach to them. That £3 for Iron Man + 1.5k credits was an awesome bundle and I'd like to see more of that, or just make vibranium offers better like last month with gold, credits, and the variant. If they wanna complain about bad game economy they should be giving people good reasons to spend, especially little spenders. Also there was a comment I saw on a video that said Arishem should've been a mode and I agree. They could still make it even now.
As a newer player I like snap a lot, but I do recognize the frustrations of people who are frustrated. I feel like there are ways for them to get cards to newer players without it being monetized. I hope the competition puts a fire under snap to get people in and stay without spending thousands to catch up
6:58 yep thats marvel thing they mostly dont care about this stuff sadly 😔 Edit 9:00 : Bro your the only reason i play the game and i am sure players care about yours content creators more then game it self ❤
I've worked in the mobile gaming industry (gacha) and I kinda feel what's going on behind the curtain because I've experienced it. Basically, the board wants more revenue and everything new that gets approved has to answer the question "how is this going to increase our revenue". I feel it now more than in the past and it might be because the revenue went down and/or a change in the game direction (producer or director). It literally happened in the company I was working for and I can see the very same pattern.
I just get upset that im at around 3,500 collection level, and now my acquisition rate of cards is extremely low. I still am missing essentials from series 3, like Knull and Wong. My collection caches are getting worse and worse. It costs so much money to quickly get all of these cards, and I feel like series 3 is supposed to be safe for quick acquisition. Theres an Infinite ( lol ) amount of series 4 and 5 cards I will most likely never acquire. Card acquisition should be hastened by money, but not the only method. I feel like their hidden matchmaking system is very annoying, and I would like it to be based more on wins than on whatever it is.

“I like big muscular men” will forever be a regis quote.
Also forever a Vince McMahon quote.
The fact you can play daily, get all you missions finished, get 3 keys and there's still a chance you won't get the new card lol
What’s the meta? Never understood this
@@RocktoonStudios By "meta" we mean the set of cards or strategies that are currently performing better than others.
There's been 3 new game modes since the game came out. High Voltage, Deadpool's Diner and Conquest.
@@MixTwentyOne 2 of them are temporary mode. Moreover, conquest is just pesky.

I remember when they gave everyone Kitty Pryde cause of a bug. That was a level of compensation that I would much rather see than one random epic variant.

And play The Bazaar
Imagine being able to open cards in a card game...
That's how FTP games work.
Just do dailies each day and you good.. thats what i do and almost all cards for the season are achievable with keys
10 mins a day
A lot of games are grindy lol, multi-player ones are most of the time
Why are Collectors tokens so rare? Can't even save enough over multiple seasons to buy one S4/5 card.
I remember when you'd get quite a few and could save up to 6k within a season
it's called greed brother
been playing essentially every single day since march, f2p besides season pass, and only been able to save up for 2 season 4 cards in all that time. and both times i had to get the 2000 from buying 10 variants to afford it. it’s unreasonable
So you spent 7 to 8000 gold on variants to get the tokens when you could have just bought tokens with that gold? Sounds like you don’t know how the system works at all

What broke the camel's back for me in Marvel snap was when they started removing gold from everywhere 😡 They even leaked that with the new clans there would be gold in the rewards, something that was removed at the last minute
Even worse when it comes to tokens, they have not one but two super rare currencies.
@AngryShooter And not even talk about the drop series and the cards that all come out in pool 5 🫡

I haven’t played marvel snap since June, largely because of progression, but I always watch your videos they’re always so fun
And now I’m far enough into the video to hear Regis say that a lack of loyalty might be the problem. Nice.
I like big muscly dudes too man, its all good.
Stopped playing snap but here for the snap rant
Dropped snap last month. It’s crazy that I spend 15 bucks a month on the game, and never feel like I can catch up. I’ve also been playing since beta. If I miss a card, it’s ages before you get the chance to get it again. They really messed up with the monetization and card acquisition changes.
I haven’t played Snap since February. I still watch you daily.
Card acquisition should be easier in Snap.
Not me almost completely dropping Snap for Poke TCG. I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually though

The Regis ranting classic is back
I hate how hard it is to obtain new cards in this game. I wish all the reserves were exclusively new cards until you had all cards unlocked. I don't have any of the current meta cards for most of the archetypes i like to play and have absolutely no agency in working to obtain those cards. It's so frustrating.
I'd probably cut off my pinky toe to have 21 keys
You are probably spending your keys poorly. Never open for just one card- open for at least 2 you don't have as long as one of them is actually good. I have 33 keys saved, and I don't feel like I really need the cards I don't have. Whatever you miss will come back with one new card in that spotlight week.
Save bro save....just hit 9 today last card I rolled for was scorn
@@markmurex6559The problem is that some cards that people skip because “they’re not that good” ends up being in every deck in the meta.
@@justinevans2118That's what tokens are for. Picking up cards in between spotlights.
opened 1000 reserves and got about a dozen new variants - and got enough tokens to get yourself (like you said) 1/3 RD of a spotlight card/
That tells you everything you need to know about how hard it is to get new cards in this game - it sucks real bad.
First the key system, 2nd the removal of gold from chests, 3rd the nerf of the tokens etc in general made it hard for pple to acquire cards
Not to mention the downgrade of the tier of cards 5 to 4 to 3 takes ages, has it even been a year since they did a downgrade of tiers?
I know second dinner needs to make money, but them getting greedier n greedier will b a downfall for them.
I find it very frustrating that you could miss 1 week of not getting a new card and can't compete with the current meta. I mean sure, there is always a counter but its just exhausting and expensive to keep up at times..

i got over this pokemon tcg honeymoon phase pretty quickly, i don't really get what that game has that is so interesting and engaging. and it's baffling how people really believe that game has a better acquisition system than snap
Etc.

Probably y they also include trading, not to mention the rates of packs to get some of these rares. There is no way youll be able to get some of these rare cards without putting money into the game. At least with snap you know what you are getting. Variants, tokens, gold, credits, borders, new card. And they include a variety of options/offers.

That wasn't that long ago lol, give it a chance
I thought with the launching of pocket TCG, We finally see a sense of competition between snap and TCG but no, dreams never come true 😢
This is a GOAT video and Dialogue 🎉 . Your the Man Regis
All games compete. No matter the genre, they compete for your money, time and interest.
You have way more Spotlight Keys than I have ever had at one time...
Glad you are still holding down snap Regis. I always tune in to your channel when a new card drops to see your deck builds
I completed series 3 last week, since then I have gotten a pixel variants EVERY TIME. Looking forwards to the series drops soon
As someone who is in series 3 how long did it take you

Until now.
Hilariously enough a Pokémon pocket ad came on right as you started talking about it 😂
I feel that the game is in a low and the monetization has become worse, like I just tend to ignore the packs tab in the store but now I'm getting card bundles, Gladiator for $77 appeared and it was weird
I’m a new player - just started a few weeks ago - so it’s interesting to see longtime players talking about how they feel the game is dead. (I’m having a good time so far at least!)
All I can provide with my perspective is that, at least personally, I’ve never had the thought of “man if only I had THIS card then I could really play the game” as matchmaking (at least in the low 400s and before) doesn’t really put you in a position where you’ll encounter top meta decks.
Great conversation....I feel better knowing there are a lot of other players feeling the "pull away" from SNAP...
i love videos like this. Thanks, Regis
I left Marvel Snap over a month ago and I've never felt better
I didn't realize just how much pressure I was feeling to just simply keep up not just with cards, but with the fast paced evolution of new decks becoming viable.
Pokemon Pocket has filled the void of being casual enough I don't feel pressured to "keep up" and I can still get excited to try out a new deck as I know I can acquire the pieces relatively quickly without spending real world money to get it.
Only time will tell though on how the game progresses.
You're like the guy at the office that says what everyone is thinking, but management actually listens to you.
Uh... yeah I dunno about that.
One of the top comments are always somebody who quit snap recently, I hope snap does something to start addressing these concerns because this daily ranting and negative sentiment around the game is going to start tearing the community apart
tried to return to the game after like 8ish months. It's shitty how so many cool decks are locked to me now because i missed so many cards.
or killed because specific card... Why fix problematic card when you can nerf 5 cards instead.
Collecting pokemons is fun and all but the tcg pocket gameplay itself doesn't even come close to marvel snap gameplay.
The reason that stopped playing snap as much is because i got a duplicate card out of the spotlight caches 3 weeks in a row.... it's actual bs!
I hope the competition puts a fire under snap to get people in and stay without spending thousands to catch up
That taskmaster you got was one of my first variants lol
great video!
Been gone from SNAP for year now. I just watch videos
6:58 yep thats marvel thing they mostly dont care about this stuff sadly 😔
Edit 9:00 : Bro your the only reason i play the game and i am sure players care about yours content creators more then game it self ❤
The state of Snap sent me back to Hearthstone, and to be honest, it was a much better experience than I've had with Snap for some time.
Really appreciate these videos. 👍
I feel like their hidden matchmaking system is very annoying, and I would like it to be based more on wins than on whatever it is.
have you thought on doing a favorite of certain parameter cards? Like best-to-worst pixel/chibi/etc cards?
