Very informative review! I liked the camera angle behind you while you were gravel riding, looks cool. I have an Osprey Syncros 12 and I love it. Fits all my GoPro stuff including the Stuntman Chest Mount and Evo SS Gimbal when I'm tired of wearing it. I did a review of mine, inspired by your review of the Syncros 10 actually. You're videos on that were the reason I looked into Osprey in the first place instead of Camelbak. Keep up the great vids!
You mentioned the lack of a waist strap, but I was hoping you could touch on that some more. Do you notice it moves around more on your back without the waist strap when mountain biking? If I'm on rocky single track trails I'd like the bag to stay in place. Thanks!
Clint, I enjoy your reviews. I've toyed with getting a hydration pack. I am an avid fan of Hammer Nutrition products. Have you tried Heed in a hydration pack? Concern about cleaning a hydration pack has always kept me from using one. The wide mouth on this looks like that would make it very easy to clean. I'm 69 and only been mountain biking a couple of years. When I took it up I was having trouble recovering until I remembered Heed and Recoverite boy how that improves my recovery. I always have a bottle of Heed with me and a Hammer bar for after the ride. Most of my rides are in the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours range. Thanks, Keith
I use Heed and Endurolytes, so I too am a fan of Hammer nutrition. I do not recommend putting Heed in a hydration bladder. I've done it before and forgot about it and it got nasty, to say the least. if you do it just make sure you rinse out the bladder and the tube thoroughly. I like the low maintenance aspect of putting water in the hydration bladder and putting Heed in my water bottles. And I typically carry Endurolytes.
Really like your reviews, and I'm considering this pack. However, no reviews ever address the notion of any motion on the back while aggressively mountain biking. In your estimation, is the pack strap system secure enough for use on blue and black trails? Your insight would be most helpful. The other pack I'm considering is the USME MTB Hydro 3L, which is more than twice the price and more than twice the weight, but with a solid no-movement strap system. Thanks for your help.
Nice review. Interesting wide mouth blader. Not sure it would fit me. I use a Camelbak Skyline 10 because it sits low on my back, lowers center of gravity and I can use it as a grab and go pack. Note I needed to put an extention on the waist belt.
I’ve gone away from the back pack to the waist pack or lesser rides just the one bottle on the frame.long rides with a back pack can lead to more fatigue on the upper body...I’m also a fan of lower centre of gravity.
Clint Gibbs I’m using a camelback it seems really comfortable around the waist sometimes I carry two tubes with tools for my partner as she is still a learning the ropes..I like the osprey packs they look great..Starting to get a lot of choices out there now...
bit curious, is it good in summer? I have a plan to ride around half a day/one day full. and also, is it possible to put a big wallet and phone in the bag, even bladder in full? and do you still use until now?
Yes, I still use this. It’s all going to depend on how much water you need to carry. You could put a phone in the pocket at the top or even inside the compartment where the bladder goes. Same as the wallet. I doubt you could put a phone and a big wallet in the pocket But you could put one in the compartment with the bladder.
@@ClintGibbs I see...my choice right now is between Osprey Seral 4 hip pack and Katari 1.5 backpack what makes me still doubt choosing Seral 4, is I think factor backpack. when riding around 70 km, my shoulders start to feel sore and painful. besides that, sweat problems from backpack ventilation. A little worried Katari 1.5 wouldn't solve my problems. I don't know if it happened to you or not for the long term?
question could add on the old video you did on tuning a Shimano Deare RD-m592 rear derailleur 9 speed . this deraillear get confusing adjusting opposite direction!
Any idea if this would be a good pack for short length (less than five miles) trail running? I'm wondering how secure the magnet would be while running and if it would come undone
I'm not a runner so I don't know how important it is to have a hip belt for a pack. If you don't need one then yes, I think this would be fine. It is very light.
Extremely water resistant. Doesn't have waterproof zippers but I would imagine things would stay pretty dry. Then again, the pocket is pretty small so this is mainly for hydration which doesn't matter if it gets wet.. Yes, you could absolutely use this for running. Does not have a hip belt but since it's not a huge pack it's not going to bounce around too much.

I use the Osprey Syncro for my trail rides as well. I've never really used water bottles. I almost always have the hydration pack.

evac plan b would be more versatile
Thanks Clint. Looking for a new small hydration pack right now....

Yeah, those are becoming popular. I need to try one.

@@ClintGibbs thanks for your answer, I am runner for longer length and I need sometimes water.
Hi Clint, have you used this pack for running at all? Would it be suitable to wear during a half-marathon? Many thanks.
I am definitely not the one to give advice on that since I don't run it all. I would think as a runner you need a waist strap.
allthough for the 7 version, watch this ruclips.net/video/2dQof-YncBc/видео.html
hey can you do another review inside the storage please i really need that

Can you refrigerate the Bladder overnight in the fridge?
Yes, but don't freeze it.
@@ClintGibbs - Thank you!
I know that can damage some bladders.... thanks anyone???
