I don’t know if Rick Ross remembers correctly but he wasn’t even really established like that back then. When they were making ‘Made Men’ and all those other collabs, Drake was already bigger than him at that point, that would’ve been after Thank Me Later dropped. TML sold 445K first week. Ross dropped Teflon Don the same year and sold less than half of that at 176K.
I understand Ross wants to make it seem like he put him on but that’s just not the case. He should focus on his MMG artists who are all struggling right now and none of them have proved to have longevity.

Drake is getting insane bags from UMG, but it’s at the expense of his freedom and he’s basically a slave to them. Kanye is currently rebuilding his empire independently, eventually he’ll be in a much better position than any artist under a label. Kanyes independent success is a record labels nightmare.
