The video ends before he talks about the mod. Seems like it gets cut off.

Cool video. The subs are jumpy though, hard to read. Timing....
Even if the unit is technically same as the red one, It´s still a welcome upgrade because of the colour. ...any colour, as long as it´s black!

in other words g system might suck your tone a bit,but not if you buy this limited and more expensive version it wont.advertises ib version quite well but criticises basic model aswell .i think standard version should get rethink and implement ib as standard and not as upgrade.

So basicly, only the converters are different? pretty wierd as they get rave reviews on their soundcards or related studio stuff...

Massimo talks in circles and never gets to any specifics. Probably because the answer is so stupid simple. Raise the input impedance. He does admit that the G-System is all digital and the only place to insert a mod is at the input buffer before the A to D converters. That can only mean on thing folks.

I think I caught the words guitar & belissimo in there, but as for the rest...???

imho All Massimo did was to raise the impedance of the input buffer from 20k ohms to 1meg ohm like it should have been because the TC engineers copied the buffer circuit straight from the IC's data sheet which would have been for an active buffered source like all line level signals are. Folks with passive pickups got muddy sound because of the 20k ohm input impedance. It was Leo Fender himself who figured out 1meg input impedance let all the frequencies output by passive pickups pass to the first tube stage and all his amps use an 1meg ohm input impedance. Folks with active pickups didn't notice a problem with the G-System because their signal is active buffered and 20k ohms is OK. This video is full of BS. Massimo talks in circles and ends up saying nothing specific. He's protecting a VERY SIMPLE MOD that is just replacing ONE RESISTOR. That protects his mod so folks keep beating a path to his door (fair enough) but it also protects TC from embarrassment who has made a deal with Massimo and his name is featured in their marketing. Bottom line, TC, like a lot of manufacturers, has to hire digital engineers who know nothing about the guitar or how it works. Shame on TC for not testing their products and kudos to Massimo for figuring a way to play ball and GET PAID for his SIMPLE mod. If anyone would like to help me prove this please reply. I need high resolution photos on the G-System circuit board starting at the input jack. Let me know. BTW if you want to hear the effect of low input impedance plug your passive pickups into the line input of any mixing console. That will be a 20k Ohms input and your guitar will sound dull, flat, no dynamics and just weak. Passive pickups need a 1meg ohm input. End of story. Thanks for reading.

I have a tech where I live, that is, more than willing, to take on this mod if he had more information on the mod and you're the first person on the net to give such detailed and even any detail regarding the mod. I'm willing to open up my G System (I have done it before) and send you pictures.

Input buffer circuit, look there. That's all you can mod. Everything else is digital (software). U can also send it in to TC perhaps.

Mitchell Ray Another thought. Test it by inserting a buffer before the G-sys input. Something like a BOSS pedal in bypass mode. That will buffer ur passive pickups and replicate the input impedance mod I suggest.
