I really do like that old school aluminium design.
Blimey, this takes me back, I had that amp and tape deck and you're right, it did come with a turntable, it was a Pioneer PL-250. Shame about the switches, probably the best bet would be to try to make some out of flat aluminium bar. I dunno what happened to mine, I know the turntable broke within 5 years, kept randomly slowing down, and I remember fixing the tape deck myself a couple of times (busted belts). I also had a tuner which I kept for years (it may actually still be in my loft) but was the older analogue type. Just Googled it, a TX-520L
It has already gone to a new home 🙂
Belt is not on correctly.
You could be right. The belt should have run around the gold coloured pulley then back around the top of the right hand capstan, making the capstans spin in opposite directions. Most auto reverse decks are like that, but there are some where the capstans spin the same direction and it's the motor that reverses direction.
@ANTandTEC you are correct! I've just completed a Pioneer CT720 .
@@ANTandTECits a shame,but true. I've seen this sort of thing occurring on a few cassette deck " repair " videos .
