    I remember this growing up in the 90s, nobody ever won a big prize in Canada, not once. But they still have monopoly each year with no winners. Guess they can get away with it here in Canada easier.

    • @Lickymaballs
      @Lickymaballs 7 месяцев назад +29

      it is because the big prize is only for the states and they have had to change the rules for a smaller prize for canada. with that most of the people who won the canadian prize were in ontario but the canadian prize may have only been won a couple of times since they have actually have allowed people to win. and now that it is online since covid i am not sure if anyone has won any big prizes and they have reduced the number of over all prizes from what i have heard from a friend that said she wasn't even winning as many food prizes as previous years now.

      Now think big: real estate. Functionally [discarding the noise taught to and by the legal profession]... title is a fraud. The mechanics of real estate are more like a lifetime transferable lease - a debt that never settles. Try not paying so called 'property taxes' and at some point a sheriff has the last word on behalf of the jurisdiction that took what you paid for and government put in your "estate" at the moment of transfer... which is their control mechanism, not yours. Things we own? Small stuff that can be carried. Beware of any moment government arrives to what is your property with a plan for systematic registration. A registry of any design, quality or terminology is a loss of control which means what you used to own becomes a privilege - whatever it may be applied to. And about the money... what, on net, has a bigger yield per acre: an acre of wheat or an acre of suburbia with six houses on it? The line between consent of the governed and being farmed is a bit thinner than we might believe,

      McDonald's and other US owned companies that operate in other countries have to abide by those countries laws, they can't get away with those scams in Canada or Germany. McDonalds is firmly against unions but every other country allows unionization or work councils as they have in Germany, the Japanese Trade Union Confederation and Australia's Retail and Fast Food Workers Union sued McD's Chicago HQ for unpaid employee benefits and overtime, that included PT employess as well, they won. Not only that, McD employees in other countries get better starting & PT wages as well as benefits like paid vacations, overtime bonuses and sick days as well as paid maternity and paternity leave, none of that is given to McD employees in the USA. The USA gives all the legal power to the companies, they can get away with pretty much anything as long as they contributed to campaigns on both sides, while employees are treated like slave labour and customers are nothing but marks for con-men selling snake oil.

    In high school I went to get a drink from McDonalds with my friends. We all go the game pieces and no one really got much, one a free small drink and another a free cheeseburger. I peeled mine back and I found I won $500. Come to think of it...I think I did win like 20 pounds when I lived in the UK. But even the small cash prizes were vanishingly rare and they didn't actually print the winning pieces for the big prizes. Mostly just won free food. And that's a cheap loss leader. It is sort of the perfect scam because you give away a lot of free food, an occasional small cash prize and then when nobody wins the big prize, you have the plausible deniability that someone simply carelessly discarded the one golden ticket.

Jacobson who was in charge of carrying the winning stickers would cut the seal of the case, take the stickers and replace them with non winning stickers, and replace the seal. He then sold the winning stickers to people near his residence for $45,000 dollars each. He was eventually caught because the FBI noticed a pattern of the big prizes being won in the same general location, within Georgia.

    Funny to see this, I am one of the “Winners”. I bought a Big Mac Meal and I won a car on the monopoly game. I contacted them and was told to send in the winning piece to a certain address which I looked up and it was their corporate address was even on the website. It was a truck, forgot what kind I was far too excited to really care as I didn’t even have a scar at the time. I got a letter about 6-7 weeks later stating that the game had passed and that my time had elapsed for me to get the prize. Well, I contacted a lawyer and we got to the bottom of it, it was found out that exactly what you are sharing did in fact occur and that a legal battle was occurring and if we won each person was getting a lump sum of money. 8 months after all this I recieved a check for 170.50 🤣 I mean I guess 170.50 is nice for spending about 6.75 at the time (it was 2004) so it’s still a win, but man did I want that cool truck, I think it was a ford lightening or something like it maybe the Harley edition f-150

Id say "if you went to a sold out football stadium, with 50k people in it and they said only 1 person can win, do you think that's good odds? Sad - it took until mid 2024 for some people finding out that all this gambling, lotteries, giveaways, etc. going on for half a century now is all fraud scam and an outright LIE. Did you really think any of these things are real: "And another happy winner from Spain is now 50 Million € richer!" down to smaller giveaways like RUclipsrs "Giving away another 5000$ gaming computer, or a 3000$ graphics card, all you have to do is SUBSCRIBE to win!"
      All of this is an outright lie.
      NO ONE ever won this money all these millions these cars and computers and houses or any of this giveaway and lottery stuff since decades.
      Or course at the end of smaller private giveaways a charade is filmed seeing the RUclipsr giving the computer or the graphics card or whatever to "a happy, fully random selected lucky winner!" (who is in truth his pal or his brother acting for the camera, but that computer never really left the RUclipsrs home.)
      The same happens on the grand scale too, sometimes paid actors related to the organizer and host of a giveaway drive away with their big prize the Lamborghini just to drive around the block and after sunset back into the car saloon again - in secret through the garage back door.
      It is necessary to sometimes present paid actors acting like they won something big in public to keep all the sheeple motivated: "Oh look at this happy winner! I should invest even more money in gambling because that multiplies my luck and one day I will be this lucky person behind the sports car steering wheel or with a bank account having six figures!"
      Well this will never happen, because every gamble is a scam, and if some "lucky winner" is rarely presented to the public he or she is nothing but a paid actor directly related to the host of the lottery.
      Think about these words before throwing away the next 5 or 10 bucks for lottery tickets: No one ever wins anything, all of this is a big-scale scam and outright lie! Buy something nice for yourself instead ;)

    ridiculous levels of incompatance by McDonalds and the company handling the prizes. There's a reason you spread out the responsibilities to many people for this sort of thing, so that there is checks and balances. McDonalds should have been sued for millions over this. And the sad part was, I loved it when McDonalds used to do this competition, now they don't run it at all in the US (though they do seem to run it in other countries still).

      I am not sure that the yare allowed to run it in the states anymore but they seem to be able to run it in canada and the bigger prizes seem to be missing and less over all prizes and food wins. some of the so called prizes here in canada they call getting a discount on some headphones or earbuts from some online company a prize. so this is one of the scams they are running in other countries to get people to buy more mcdonalds. plus they put it online and have draws with companies where you can get a shopping spree so they can say you won something while it costs them less as those other companies pay for the prize that is offered. but it is doubtfull anyone wins any of those either.
