Oh my gosh this video made my sons day. I bought him a Sonic Legoset but it didn’t include Sonic only Amy and Tails and when we went to Legoland they had the mini figure Sonic keychains for like $6 and i followed this tutorial and Bam a happy boy with all 3 of his characters!! Thank you!!
This is insane, you just got two very rare and valuable figures for pretty cheap with not a lot of downsides (besides not being able to remove the legs I guess).
Just bought myself the Robin shown in the Video from eBay, love this version of Robin because it’s from the Video Game me and my brother used to play, I can’t wait to surprise him with it on my keychain 🙌😂
This is an awesome tutorial because i have a lego star wars the clone wars capitan rex keychain and this video did help me to revome a keychain awesome video 😊
Worked like a charm, i did it on a ninjago movie lloyd because the green eyes usually show up blurry and it was a really good print. I had to use a bigger fork for the ring on the head because it had sharper fork.. things..? XD
Judging by the tiny flecks of plastic you had to sweep away, there seems to be some risk of damage to the minifigure. I have a much better (and fun) method... Hold the minifigure in one hand and a pencil in the other hand (BOOM!) Put the pencil through the end of the keyring and pull the chain tight (BOOM!) Use a candle or something to apply some heat to the chain. The heat will conduct along the chain and screw and gradually release all the metal from the plastic with no damage. BOOM!
i don't think i'm strong enough, or i'm going it wrong. I'm trying to remove it from a ewok chain from 2014, but i can't get it off. Has the material of the chain changed since 2014?
Man, Thanks For The Tutorial. The Only Sad Thing Is That When You Removed The Keychains, The Minifigure Isn't Like Regular Minifigures With The Legs And Torso.
Idk if I'll make one tbh. I've never actually watched Batman Beyond, don't really have a good way to make a decal of it, I'm not really that interested in making the design as a whole, I've got a lot of a other classic customs in the works already, and, like I showed you on stream, this guy actually already made a classic style Batman Beyond minifigure, and it's even for sale here classicminifigs.com/products/batman-beyond Sorry if I'm letting you down, but I don't think I'm gonna make one. Maybe someday when I eventually watch the show, but for now, I'm good.
@@billybrobobbill2982 You just asked me * when * I'm going to do the custom, and you've asked the same thing in at least five other comments, so I kinda got the impression that you did care. Again, I'm sorry, but I'm good
not helpful, i would avoid this method entirely. in this very video there is way too much plastic damage cased with the fork method especially for spiderman as the red part of the stubs broke off and distorted which is far from mint condition.
@@James_LoI'm just messing with you lol. Yes I do realize that there is a tiny tiny dent on the top of the stud on the head now. Keychain minifigures (at least in recent years) are produced using a weaker kind of plastic. I literally just thought of this video idea because I didn't have any scissors in my new place yet, and I wanted to remove the keychains from three Robin keychain figures I had just received in the mail, so I tried out using a fork. I realized it was way more effective than I thought it would be, so I decided to make a video about it. Didn't even know that the fork made a tiny dent in the top of the stud, but then again, it's just a keychain figure. They're for people's own collection and for play. If someone was planning on selling it, trying to pass it off as the real figure, that would be on them for trynna scam people. Again, I had this idea solely because I had limited materials. I never said this was the best or most superior way to remove keychains from keychain minifigures, it's just how to remove keychains from keychain minifigures, if you only have a fork.
I don't think there is a fork in the word that small it could fit in the second ring. For real, what is even the point of these stupid keychains? It's literally the lamest lego thing you can buy for a kid and there can't be that many adults salivating at the mouth at the thought of a lego keychain considering how you don't see these things being sold anywhere aside from official lego places. People already debunked the whole "lego can't sell individual figures because of agreements with action figure companies" as a complete lie so there is literally nothing stopping them from selling rare and desired minifiures at an affordable price individually. But instead they settle for these stupid in-betweens with keychains literally nobody uses in the intended way so you can spend 3 hours trying to remove the stupid piece of metal ruining a perfectly good minifigure and likely damaging it in the process.
Thank you for the tutorial ! As a kid I would buy keychains to not buy sets and this video would’ve really useful back then (:
Np man! And aww, well hopefully you can still use it if you ever need to remove any new keychains from lego figures!
Thank you!!

Thanks you!! And yeah, got Robin for like $10 too.(Ordered it from Germany though)
You can remove the legs at least on newer ones from about 2016+
This is what the fork was invented for.
I literally just took off the keychain of a figure, then I saw this video and thought "I could have saved precious time if i just used a fork"
Lmaoo, maybe next time
I never knew there were keychains of these specific minifigures

Cool tutorial, this will definitely be pretty useful
Thank you!
Thank you as a kid it would take me 1 year to remove the keychain but with your tutorial it only took me 5 minutes😊
np!!!
Amazing work, man! I now have a solid gold minifig thanks to this!
Me too
Just bought a Man of Steel Superman Keychain so this video is quite useful.
He legit broke the mini figs
thanks! my ahsoka is now a minifigure! but i dont know why her head accessorie is very loose
This is an awesome tutorial because i have a lego star wars the clone wars capitan rex keychain and this video did help me to revome a keychain awesome video 😊
Yooo sweet! I just did the same thing with a p1 rex too!!
I could buy the 1989 Batman keychain and do this but I don’t want to risk damaging that gorgeous cowl piece
Yeah that's a good point! There's also a polynag with that exact cowl piece coming out soon, so that might be a viable alternative too!
@@MachinexMinifigs yeah I’ll probably just do that instead

May the fork be with you!
Hey man I know it’s an old vid but can you move the legs? I wanna know 😊
The only thing to be careful of is breaking the figure during the process anyway I’m going to try it
Normally I would be happy about this info but then I realized you used some very expensive minifigs that are worth a lot and it made die on the inside
@@jack_43671 they were like ten bucks when I got em

Dude awesome tutorial! Where'd you get the spiderman keychain? I wanna try this out!

I could get a classic boba fett for 13 dollars
I can finally take chains off from my key chained figs
So smooth! Are you some kind of engineer? Great...
Is it possible to return the key chain I want right?
I'm boutta get big bank with my boba fett keychain 🤣
Yoooo nice
It actually works I tried it on Darth vader
Thank you! Now my 5 dollar keychain luke can masquerade as a 300 dollar UCS exclusive luke!
(I don’t care about price i just love the printing lol(
Was it that easy to take off or did u have to put some force on it, i just got a rex and cody keychain so i dint wanna mess up
It took a bit of force
@@MachinexMinifigs okay thanks man
At least the cheapest way to get some of the character lol also at least it’s better than using scissors on the chain anyway
Thank you, this helped so much it worked on my Lego Anubis but I had to use the Leatherman's pliers, God bless ☦️
Cool.
Thanks now I can have an emperor palpatine minifg!
“Dad why is the FBI here”
Bought a Tobey keychain from bricklink so ill try when it comes in
Yoo nice!!! Be careful when you take the ring on the stud off though. The fork might chip the inside of the stud if you're not careful.
@Lego Machinex you should do a video showing my method for removing the hair piece
Most likely will someday! Do you have a username besides "c" that I could credit you with?

it looked exactly like yours
