      理論上是可以, 但老一代的雷達很耗電。 木船和玻璃釺維船反射雷達效能很差。

    I guess you were on auto cruise when the accident happened, but why did you take the risk on auto cruise at night

      My boat sailed most of the time by the mechanical wind-vane. I also had auto-pilot, which was used when I was motoring, usually because there was no wind. I had to get enough sleep, of course. So, for a solo long-distance sailor, the risk of collision cannot be ruled out.

      For a small sailing yacht of 34-ft, the daily average distance covered is about a 100 nautical miles. My best run was 138 nm a day for 7 days straight, double-reefed. That was in the Indian Ocean. A very rough passage. I had to sail night or day, till I was near land.
