@Nick Paxton a good tailored suit costs upwards of 1500 dollars. Now, I understand that to some that may be a negligible fee. But those lower middle class peasants such as myself won't pay that price for a suit I'll wear one night that probably won't fit me the next year.
@@saranorris4914As a kid, no I don’t have money, so I tailor my clothes myself. Although, understand that confidence is important for a kid, and giving your kids horribly fitting clothes to “grow into” is going to give them another reason to resent you. It’s not like your buying a custom suit, but getting things like pants hemmed or tapered isn’t really that expensive, even if it will only fit for a year or two. Confidence is worth it.
Got mine for 200 for a 2 piece original price was close to 900 I was thankful but I'm not use to wearing formal clothes like that so I feel like I look weird
Night before prom. Got a fade and cleaned up nice but I’ve been in the gym for the past year and just tried on my suit jacket I wore last year. Can’t even fight it around my shoulders. Now it’s night before and I ain’t got a suit
Ok so a distinction that I think needs to be made is that he is saying buy a suit, not a tux. A tailored suit will probably run you around $400 on the cheap side but that being said, it’s an investment. A junior or senior in high school have also probably reached the hight they’ll be as an adult if not a little shorter. A tailored suit can be altered if the change is not too drastic and some places that you get tailored from might also provide free alterations. I’ve got a tailored suit that I’ve now been wearing for 4 years and now as a high school senior at 6”2 I’ve only had to get it altered once In the sleeves and shoulders. Every man should have a decently fitting suit, and tbh you could just go to kohl’s and buy a cheap suit and get it altered to fit you. Not what I’d recommend but it’s an option
@@shivangth6450A tux can be tailored, and I’d actually recommend that over getting it altered. If you’re going to buy a nice Tux, you’ll probably be spending a pretty penny, so why not make sure it looks perfect you know? I just made the distinction between a suit and tux because most people don’t know the difference. A tux is usually considered to be much more formal and usually isn’t worn as casually as a suit it. For instance you can wear a suit to church, but a tux is probably too much lol
@@shivangth6450 I would probably just use Facebook marketplace, not everyone shares the same sentiment I do when it comes to tux’s so I’m sure someone would be willing to buy, especially in prom season

Terrible mistakes? This is terrible advise…if you are a teen then chances are you might not necessarily have the money to spend on buying a suit (which can be expensive) and then to have it tailored…
Actually buying a suit would be a good investment if it is interchangeable, and if you begin to grow, you can make alterations to make it bigger if there are fabric reserves in it, which there are in decent quality suiys
@@Ericmf08108 lol I dunno what kind of suits you are buying. Alterations are not cheap for the whole damn suit. Rent the suit when you are done growing.
@@kgbaby1466 you don’t have to alter the entire suit, you could buy a suit that is closest to your size, ideally prioritize the fitting of the shoulder, as long as you get it close enough, alterations should be very minor and you won’t have to alter the whole thing

you got money for our tailor, mate? fork it over and we'll take your advice
Right I'm thinking what kind of kid has money to go buy a suit and then get it tailored.
Tailoring isn’t that expense plus check to see sales or stores that have suits for a cheaper price

It costed me $20 to get a tailor.
Showing up to prom in sunglasses is crazy
😂😂😂
Nah bro that’s my dad he is with glasses 24/7
Nah, for year 10 formal you gotta have the must junkie sunnies you can find
Bought a 600$ custom tailored suit and just 4 months of gym made me regret it. At least I got the gainz
I’m in the same position
Yeah, buying from prom when you aren’t done growing is dumb
and that's literally how you know you've made it
I ended up buying a 800 dollar tuxedo I regret it lmao but at least I didn't rent it
Got mine for 200 for a 2 piece original price was close to 900 I was thankful but I'm not use to wearing formal clothes like that so I feel like I look weird
I think I bought the same tuxedo as you bro 😂
Would rather rent
Dawg u could have just bought a 100 dollar tux for cheap and it would have looked good😭

Spending hundreds of dollars for a suit and accessories? dawg this is prom not a royal wedding😂
And I’m underage teen 💀
thanks for the advice but unfortunately I don't shit money
I kinda can’t see without my glasses
All the suits i bought fitted perfectly without tailoring anything
This might be different in the US, but wearing a watch to a black tie/ evening event is generally not considered appropriate Europe.
Well thats dumb
Amazing video! Great job!
Ye when I get the money for a custom made suit, I'll be back
im a whole ass grown adult trans woman i dont know why i be watchin your shorts but i am
Thanks for the video Trey
Thanks
For the tailor bit, wait till you got money. Unless someone’s paying for you which isn’t likely.
I'm wearing a tuxedo so I hired because I was only going yo wear it once, but I got it fitted perfectly
Wearing sneakers like air Jordan’s or nikes with a suit is another mistake
Idk, it can look good sometimes
Showing up to prom with your mom is crazy
Not wearing a watch? 😭
Me who don’t got contacts 💀
This boy is really wearing a chain under the shirt and I can see the watch under the sleeve
Hmm. Well. Prom is tomorrow and I don't have a suit...
mine is in like a week and i havent even patterned my suit meanwhile you get mans stressin 2 months before
but the whips been patterned most importantly
We have prom in 2 years saving this video
“1st mistake, buying instead of renting” wait… buy or rent?
Y’all are acting like tailoring a suit is super expensive. I got my suit tailored for less than $50
what is the color of the suit which is he wearing
Green
Green
Do not buy a suit for a prom. It’s pointless spending hella money just to wear it once
Thanks for the tips❤

Same it’s tomorrow but I’m a loser so I’m not going🙂

What color green is that??
Ok there aint no way that I am the ONLY one that read prom wrong..
buy me a suit then
What the hell is prom
American should stop that prom thing first and then we discuss fashion. You put those kids under too much pressure
showing your chest hair isn't stylish...

I’m sorry but not wearing glasses!?
I can’t read anything 2 feet in front of me without them
