Wow I used to have that guitar and loved it but I sold it to buy another guitar. When I had it, wished to have tremolo bridge and swap those pickups but had no skills to do it. You just made it happen what I wanted that time. Sounds very good you rock it.🤘
That happens all the time, the GAS never really stops xD. Yes ! we had the same idea, now is more versatile and looks better with tremolo for me, it wasn't easy but it worth it 🎸
I have a lefty one of these in Blue that I bought last year when I was getting back into guitar. I really liked it when I first got it, although knowing what I know now there may have been better options. Still, it has some sentimental value. I’ve modded it with a Seymour Duncan Nazgûl/Sentient set, which required some routing to make room for the long pole pieces, and a set of Gotoh locking tuners. Would you mind sharing what you did for polishing it to give it a nicer finish? I’d really like to do that to mine at some point. Also, I have to ask, what was the logic of buying a hardtail and routing out for a trem system, rather than buying a guitar that already has a trem system in place?
Hi ! Yes there are better options for the price, like any HB fusion or other less famous companies but i really like the aesthetics, ergonomycs and configuration of this exact ibanez RGA model, and i just love to modify guitars and make them better for me. I think i do it because i like it this way it is fun make it with your own hands. For me both modify a cheaper guitar or buy an already great one are fantastic options, all depends of what things are important to you and depends of the particular guitar. The finish is a water based from a brand called “nitorlack” is specific for guitars, i applied with brush but for a mirror finish i would recomend to use it with spray machine
I have the same guitar, I replaced the same pickups and the same locking tuners, what model of tremolo did you buy. I would like to do the same. Thank you
Hi ! The exact tremolo model is Gotoh® NS510TS-FE1 black , there is another that is almost the same but the saddles are wider, mine is 10.5mm. Good luck with the project !
I was thinking of the same thing for years but I don't know how to do it. I'm happy to see someone did it and it works. I hope Ibanez saw this.
I hope Ibanez sees this and do something about it 😀👌
Only thing missing is stainless steel frets for this mod to be considered premium.
I have the same model. The stock pickups and stock tuners are pretty horrible. But you made it into a professional instrument
This is the exact mod I was looking for my new ibanez rg with the same bridge, glad to see the 510 fits perfectly. Great Video !!!

Nice mod. Pick up swap was great. Funny I have the version with floyd and reverse headstock and i blocked the trem 😄
Exactly how do you wire the coil split on the 5 way switch?
I never use F spaced pickups
