This is a clip from opening night of The Addams Family. We put this show together in two weeks and it was an amazing experience! #wednesdayaddams #addamsfamilymusical #pulled
Ahhhh! I got the part of Alice for my school and I am absolutely in love with this song! The girl who sings it at our school has such an amazing voice!
@Arandomtherianontheinternet it makes sense! thank you, we had a few rehearsals for ‘what if’ and it’s going along really well. i’m definitely going to include this next rehearsal and get our music person’s opinion. it’s a great idea!
not a wednesday, im a pugsley :) (the singing is beautiful tho) but i love the fact that pugsley isn’t moved or obscured at all during the entire remainder of this scene so i just have to be chained to a wall for a good minute with a grumpy look on my face
Wait- now I really want to see that😂 Yeah our set crew (aka a few parents) made the torture device and it was done like the day before our first show. It was pretty awesome haha
Good luck! I would say come up with specific moments in your audition song with specific acting verbs/beats so that it’s clear what emotions you are trying to convey(if you look up acting verbs there are lists online and you can print out a copy of your song and write one acting verb over each complete thought and sometimes that helps me). Another thing I like to do is plan out a few hand motions within the audition song, not too many that make it look choreographed but just a few natural ones. Also make sure you are familiar with character motivation and songs from the show if there are callbacks. Stay in the moment during your audition and keep practicing. I’m sure you’ll be amazing!! :)
@@SaraLynneSings thanks, i just somehow can’t ever get the right notes and fumble on the quick bit but i can sing.. just other songs 😅 shame bc i love Pulled
@GemmaAngelArt yeah the quick bit took me a while to get down without looking at lyrics haha (it was a bit concerning for a while because we learned the show in 2 weeks and I kept messing that part up when I’d practice😂)
Hey my school is doing Addams Fam in a couple of weeks and I'm in the pit on trumpet. The part seems a little daunting since it was written for a professional pit band, but do you know if your trumpet player was a highschooler or a professional musician, or if you just used a backing track? Love your work too btw!!
Thank you!! We just used the backing tracks but that’s awesome that your school is having an actual band! Good luck with the trumpet part, I’m sure you’ll be awesome!
I got pugsley lol I remember the first time I remember I had to be chained to a wall 😂 i was do confused but the musical is in April I hope I do well 😊
Ahh thank you!! It’s definitely a song that takes some work haha Don’t feel discouraged if it doesn’t sound good at first, the more you practice the easier it will become. I also found that for my voice mixing some of it so I could belt that last note worked best for me, so don’t feel obligated to belt everything. Find what works best for your voice :)
i’m going to be singing this song for an audition for my schools musical theatre class. any tips? i will be doing the parts shown in the video here and i’m absolutely terrified i’m going to mess up
I’m sure you’ll do great! I’d say for this song and character take a bit of a wider, grounded stance (that can help with the belting) and come up with a couple arm motions you want to fit in so if you forget them it’s not the end of the world but if you remember it adds to the song. Also come up with beats for the song and add an action verb to each beat (there are tons of lists you can look up if you get stuck). Singing-wise; for the belting remember to get nasal, if you mix any of it remember to stay forward and don’t push, and for all of it keep good breath support and engage your diaphragm. Also practice as much as you can. You will be amazing!! Lmk if you have anymore questions :)

Auditioning for Wednesday on 2nd June, do you have any tips for holding that end note without it wobbling? I just can't seem to get it right. (Also any audition tips from anyone would be amazing!!)
I’m sure you’ll be amazing! I’d say my main tip for holding the note would be get a good breath and make it really forward/nasal. Even if you don’t think it sounds that good with that nasal quality, it sounds better than you think. Also make sure you’re supported (diaphragm!!) and feel grounded because that tends to help too (so does being in character). Don’t psych yourself out just keep good placement and it will be awesome! A trick to get into the right placement and support is sing it while planking from a piano bench or the wall. Have fun!! :)
Yoooo amazingggg! I’m auditioning for Addams Family in January, and we will most likely do this part of the song for callbacks. I’m one of the only shorter people in the cast (it’s a school play) and I can’t hold out that note for the life of me 😭. Any tips?

@juliakelly8405 it’s Tuck Everlasting, so I’m thinking I’ll probably get ensemble😂 (that or Nana lol) Also, after auditions when you know what part you got in Addams Family and let me know!!
Thank you so much and congrats! I would say besides practicing a ton, figure out you character motivations for each scene and song. Coming up with a character walk and stance helps too. Also come up with acting verbs for each beat of your big solo moments/songs, like in Pulled for example. (If you look up acting verbs you’ll find some good ones) Those can really help the acting feel more natural. Break a leg and I’m sure you’ll be amazing!
That’s amazing!! Alice is super awesome and if I wasn’t Wednesday when I did the show she would definitely be who I would want to play. Have so much fun!
