Actually, it was not that technical and it is required when we do some technical peak or under certain conditions where the verticals cross 50 degrees or there are multiple crevasses or if there is an overhang involved.
No, I can't because I don't remember the route to the summit but yes with just a guide I can do this peak. It's technical but not very and I am talking about doing this in summer and not in winter.
@@lukasdupon3981 Yes, it is legal to do it solo but you need to take permit just like we need to get permit for any other peak in Leh region. Also, I personally do not recommend you to do this alone if you haven't been to this region before mainly because of the route which can be tricky. If you have a lot of time then you can plan an expedition and do it solo but before that you can do a proper recce. Also, I am saying all this assuming that you have prior good experience in mountaineering and you have been to 6000m peaks before.
@@lukasdupon3981Looks like permit is $50 (?) organised in Leh. Could be slightly higher now as that is as of 2019. What I am trying to find out is if meals can be purchased at the basecamp, like the set up at Stok Kangri.
Nice Video Prateek . Which tour company you undertook this climb & what was the cost ???, I found it a bit odd you guys climbing the mountain without the safety harness with just rope tied on your waist :)
royan peter It was my company that undertook this expedition and the charges were minimal according to the services we provide as prateek is a dear friend. Thanks for pointing out the harness part as we use safety harness only when we do some technical peak or under certain conditions where the verticals cross 50 degrees or there are multiple crevasses or if there is a overhang involved. You can write to us at info@treknclimb.in . A very happy new year to you. Cheerio
@@rajatsquash I am surprised you use a rope the mountain looks so benign I would not consider any rope unless I really had totally newbie clients. With friends in US no one would even think "rope" - it has to be icy at say 40 deg or snow over 50 deg as you pointed out. I am going to be in the area and I plan to solo this one. I am unsure through about whatever I need to bring my own boots or crampons or whatever I can rent stuff from BC. I will be in Leh on the 19th I assume there are plenty of agencies there I just want to figure out whatever I need boots and crampons as extra plane load . Also is the #1 a lot more difficult? I have around 3.5 weeks in the area - I plan on warming up on local Stok Kangri and tag at least one more 6000er preferably two. I soloed Denali and Muztag Ata and Lenin among other peaks.

My plan was to hike in and find/hire a guide at basecamp.. 9000-10,000 Indian rupees. Will be doing it next yr.

Did you go in the end?
@@carl8568 Yes did 2 out of 3 planned. And also did some stuff that was not climbed before or very rarely in the valley.
