The Princess of Wales will be working a “light programme of royal duties” as she reveals she is at the end of her chemotherapy treatment, says ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship.

She has gone through chemotherapy, her body is still weak. Do you want her out and about greeting hundreds of people with the risk of her getting sick ? Her immune system needs to be rebuilt and get stronger. Give this gracious & courageous woman a break, give her the time to heal. Her video was her way of saying thank you to the public 🤍

We do not know if it is Kate, talking about her condition. This woman looks different, in many aspects. Why did the cancer issue come after some mysterious surgical procedure ? Any clue ? What was going on, as we have been in the dark, since December 23. These silly videos created by the firm are infantile. Got to be a sheep to believe, any of it.

@@linanicolia1363 In what aspects does she look different you can't just say this and not elaborate. We were told in January Catherine had abdominal surgery and this was when cancer cells were discovered why is this mysterious? Then in March Catherine appeared in a video telling us all we needed to know about her illness and treatment, now this video showing,to me at least,she is getting better but her road to recovery will be a long one so how can you say we have been kept in the dark? Why you people watch these posts only to make these rather foolish remarks is beyond my understanding.
As a 20+ year cancer survivor, I can tell you that, after chemo ended, there is a period in which you must undergo tests every three months or so. after 1 year of cancer free tests, you are released to tests every 6 month tests, then every year. After about 3-5 you may say you are cancer free. It's very long, and it feels longer when you're surrounded by negativity. You must be positive, stress free.

Leaving Princess Catherine Middleton and her Private moments is the best we can do. The Princess of Wales has plenty of support from her own Family… and many many strangers she doesn’t even know they exist. She’s a constant in my thoughts for a complete return to Health.
BINGO. Regardless, her immune system is compromised, so she really can't be doing a lot of public appearances. I knew of someone who caught cold after chemo and died. Chemo has likely improved since then but that doesn't mean it isn't brutal on one's body.
@@HotVoodooWitch I developed shingles just before being given the all clear after chemo for stage 4 cancer. I have to say that the shingles experience was far worse than the chemo, and I believe that was because my immune system was shot to pieces. With the chemo, there is a kind of respite during each round, with the shingles the discomfort, and then pain (which lasted some time) was at first 24/7. There was no relief for some time. It was a least a year after both of these illnesses before I felt in any way human. en then, you are never. It takes some time to build your health again, on many levels.

Just leave them alone. If she does not say anything your are critical, if she does, it is the wrong form or content. At least for cancer patients, her messages are unbelievable precious. A reg. cancer nurse.

From the USA…how can anyone find fault with this video, in anyway? No one knows better than Catherine, that she’s not cancer free. Only time will tell. In the meantime, rejoice with her and other cancer patients that have made it to the end of their chemo treatments. She has been a hero to millions of people and deserves only admiration and praise. Wow, that was a relief to get that out.
It would be great if she rejoiced with other cancer patients. But they would know she never had cancer.

Of course the end of chemotherapy, or radiotherapy, does NOT mean the person is cancer free! It just means that the current treatment is over. Anyone who has had the cancer diagnosis may be in remission following treatment, but not cancer free.

As an oncology specialist nurse ringing the bell indicates free of the stringent journey of treatment and knowing continuous monitoring will continue. Why is this film being hyped by the news media? As an observer, Catherine is letting the people know she is moving forward. As an update on her journey and how the disease is a family disease

No one who has been diagnosed with Cancer, is NEVER Cancer free. They just go into remission, cancer does and can come back!!!

I had cancer last year and now I AM CANCER FREE. I have to take strong meds to stop it coming back. That's the long arm of cancer. BUT I DON'T HAVE IT NOW
(Joan here). While this is true, it must be noted that the 'when' of cancer coming back could be many many years on. I had 2 back-to-back cancer diagnoses and it has now coming up to 19 years. Grateful for every additional year.

I also have cancer. It started in my esophagus and left lung. When the doctor told me six months ago it wasn’t in the esophagus any more, he said I was in remission not cured. Sure enough, six months ago, the cancer had metastasized to my brain and I had another tumor in my left lung.
I wish Princess Katherine the very best. Right now, I’m in immunotherapy and that may be what’s in store for her.

I am sick of people criticising Catherine for this video when you come too a end of a treatment it is fantastic and when a cancer patients are going through there treatment she understands what they are going through and she is supporting them as they have supported her and people don't understand there families are going through it ads well not just her , and this video was just beautiful and really hit the spot about cancer and this family is full of love and it shows us how much William and her children loves Catherine

It wasn't so much inaccurate reporting as a judgemental review. These two "journalists" have no remit to stand in judgement over Princess Catherine's choice of how she gives us an update on her healing.They also have no empathy with someone dealing with a life threatening illness, nor have they compassion for a young woman showing courage to do her duty under extreme circumstances.

Because the cancer can still be there at a cellular level. That is why when you finish chemo you have to have scans every three months then if no evidence of disease it will go to every six months and so on. I am NED but I am not cancer free as the number of recurrences in my cancer is 85%. If I manage to get to five years of NED I will finally be classed as cancer free or in remission.
Never mock a pain you haven't endured because when life hits you, you might become everything you ever criticized.
Ring the Bell is at the end of a consecutive course(s) of chemo not the indication of being cancer free. As a "journalist" you would think this guy would have an understanding of that. And please the glossy look of the video is what people want to watch and actually expect to experience these days. I think the narrative was honest and heartfelt and I was personally moved by it.
Some people don´t WANT to recognise when something is just well done. The journalist has disqualified himself as at least not well informed and not as respectful. How sad.

Indirect costs to support the Royal Family are estimated to be ~ £345 million.
The revenue the UK generates ff the backs of the Royal Family is estimated at £1.7 *Billion* going directly to small businesses, media sales, tourism, services, restaurants, hotels etc.
The Royal Foundation (which is the charity foundation for William and Catherine) have donated over £50 million to charities for homeless, early childhood education, mental health.

The exorbitant salaries you speak of do not exist the Royals have use of the Sovereign Grant [tax money] while they perform duties for the good of the country not in their private lives. Albertan here. I love them even thought I don't know them. I can see how they are to each other and how the kids are. They are being raised like normal people with game night and fun walks and running in the ocean. Catherine and William are a shinng example of how kids can be raised. I hope she will never be attacked by the cancer again.

I found out I had cancer during the same time Princess Kathrine came on tv to tell Us about Hers. I did ring that Bell. I've been Lucky that I found Mine in early stages 1. 8 months of scary painful tests and surgery. Now hormone blockers. Now the real fun begins. Not. Cancer gives You a whole New Outlook on Life, Family and Prayers.
During this whole process for Me, I felt that Princess Kathrine was walking this path with Me. And She understands what We are going through. I am stocked up on ice packs now Myself.

I rang the bell on the last day of my chemo and radiation, but I wasn't classified as cancer-free until they tested again and had to re-check me every 3 months for years and then move to 6 months. It can come back at any time.

It makes sense that they would make something positive so people will not be frightened for her, but understand she isn't done her cancer journey yet as no one is this soon after initial rounds of treatments end. She must take care against flu, Covid, etc.

@@NannieG-y6v The operative word is "stay". She didn't say "to be cancer free". And of course that doesn't mean cured. Its a grueling journey. My 17 year old daughter fought for 6 1/2 years, but was never in remission. Wishing the POW healing and all the best.

You don't know that she is not cancer free. People do find cancer early, go through treatment, and it is gone. Her condition will be closely monitored. But that is still just follow up, not treatment.
They did this because of what people were saying, it makes sense that they put a beautiful short film together!

As an American, I can say I have missed her presence in the public eye, but I support her retreat from hectic schedules and a focus on her health and children
She is doing her best,she is not cancer free.Sadly she has been through a very traumatic time and has had to be brave for her family sake .Her treatment will have to continue so she is not on top form but trying to live as normally as possible.Wishing you stay well ,take one day at a time ,listen to your body ❤

It was a lovely video she was just updating her treatment if she didn't people would be complaining give the princess a break l had cancer 43 years ago and that feeling of your last cemo treatment was such a great feeling and she was sharing that with us and other people going through the same as Catherine will give them hope and positively. Sadly, privacy no longer exists, even for people in her position. The press and public speculation was quite negative so the family had to speak out. I hope she continues to be on the mend.

Exactly. I just can’t with these boomer journalists. Actually wondering about why this family released a well produced, beautifully filmed footage of a young family on their recovery from a cancer diagnosis? The message they are sending is a one of cautious optimism and about the true importance of loving our family and being loved. It’s lovely they even went to the effort. They could have posted a formal and cold update on a palace gate and then released a statement on their socials but they gave us a beautiful montage of a mother recovering from cancer treatment surrounded by things and family she loves.

Princess Catherine is an absolute beautiful person to see, always has been so elegant, beautiful, graceful, delightful and it always makes you feel good just to see such good people as Princess Catherine and Prince William, and their beautiful children ❤ It was always great to see The Queen too, miss her very much. 😊

Don’t speculate on the Princess’s state. I was told after surgery that I was cancer free. Then had chemo and radiation for the next five months. I was told twice that my cancer could reoccur But live your life working to continue healing. STOP saying she is not cancer free ! The fatigue of the treatments continues onward. Healing involves the mind and spirit. The video was beautiful and uplifting for everyone. I am an American and it was uplifting for me.
Princess Catherine don’t let anyone judge or push you into getting back to work, it takes a long time recovering from chemotherapy. Mentally and Physically you need to be kind to yourself.
One day you will be Queen there will be a lot of work to take on so now is your time to look after yourself so that you can stand beside P William and make this country great again ❤
The end of chemotherapy is NOT the end of having cancer! She is left weak and vulnerable and any illness is dangerous to her. She is not even technically in "remission". She is just finished the first stage of her treatment. Prayers to her and her immediate family. The rest of us are all just gawkers!

It takes a lot of time and periodic tests to be done to give that diagnosis of cancer-free. The important thing is that she successfully completed her first process. Long live this beautiful Princess.
You're wrong saying she can't be cancer-free. Firstly, how can you possibly know. Secondly, I was told I was cancer-free one month after diagnosis ie once I'd had surgery. That didn't mean treatment was finished - that went on for over 5 years. The BBC can be soooo critical.
the standard for the declaration of 'cancer free' is 5 years...they may have gotten all your cancer out, but you will still be watched for those 5 years

It wasn't enough to hound, misrepresent and critique everything Diana did. Now you have to do the same with Princess Catherine. This video was lovely, warm, loving and gracious. She and Prince William are of a different, progressive era. They should be allowed to feel free to express themselves, when they are comfortable. Not at the whim of media. Chemo is completed, but to be declared Cancer Free is going to take months of follow up blood work and scans. Don't jump the gun until everything is said and done.
Hmm yes but it was only preventative. She never had cancer.
@@MichelleP-s5e Chemo was for preventing cancer from metastasizing, not preventing cancer in the first place. After tumor is excised, then chemo is for preventing any remaining cancer cells from metastasizing. You probably never had cancer and hope you don't, but that's how it is often done.

No one is 'cancer free', nor who has already had and neither the ones who have never had. I had cancer and currently I don't. However, my doctor said that even those 4 or 5 years that they usually say it's the period of time enough to be considered 'free of the cancer' don't mean much, because after 5 years or 10 years or 15 years it can come back or appear for the first time. That's life. But life is beautiful. Let's enjoy today as if it were the last of our lives, doing the best we can, loving and being loved. My best wishes to Princess Catherine. God bless her.
