I have been saying much of the same thing for quite a while now. And the continued weakening of the Chinese economy at the hands of the CCP will also weaken them militarily as well. There’s a reason why they haven’t gone after Taiwan yet, it’s because they can’t. With the U.S. being involved in protecting Taiwan, China would be going to war with not only the U.S. but NATO as well. In China’s current state, this is not a war they can win, and would ruin the already shaky legacy Xi has, as well as would be the end of the CCP. So they can’t, because they know they will lose, and they know they will lose power, so everything that comes out from them is nothing but bluffing bluster and saber rattling.

    • @YourHineyness
      @YourHineyness 2 месяца назад

Agreed. I think what happened to Russia in Ukraine gave Xi much to think about, especially the poor performance of Russian (Soviet) weapons. Since many of China's weapons are (you guessed it) counterfeits of Soviet weapons he is rethinking his war plans. I know it's popular to say that the US has rotted and now is only a paper tiger but I do believe they would prevail in a war against China. It's not that the US is so strong, but that China is so weak. Their soldiers have poor weapons, poor training, a corrupt leadership, and no battle experience. Not a winning formula.

Actually, the CCP was not started by the proletariat, but by the peasants. The proletariat are industrial workers. There is a big difference. Mao himself was from a prosperous peasant background.
The thing about this is that Marxism assumed that the revolution would start in industrialized countries with a large industrial proletariat. Marx assumed the revolution would start in countries like Germany, the UK and the US. Don't forget the communist slogan, "WORKERS of the world unite" (emphasis mine). The fact that it started in a country, Russia, which was underdeveloped industrially, would have appalled Marx. He believed that countries must progress to that industrialized stage to have a Marxist socialist revolution. Heck, Russia had only abolished serfdom in 1861.
What the Marxist-Leninists did in Russia was to offer the peasants "free stuff". Of course, this free stuff had to be taken from someone. That was the bourgeoise, of course. The ironic thing is that they then took it away again. The Chinese communists were trained in Russia.

The CCP’s main problem is young people reject it and its ideology. Material satisfaction and the political stability that flows out of it, will never answer people’s fundamental need for freedom and human dignity. Its weakness was shown up in the post COVID protests last year in which people demanded an end to the Emperor mentality underpinning the Chinese political system. A top bottom approach longer works. To be sure, the Party survived the protests but its future isn’t guaranteed in a country in which dynasties have come and gone.

You're missing a core reason for China's demise. Their culture dictates that if you take any risk and fail, then YOU are tagged a "failed person" in their society and are never given another chance to try again. THAT is why they steal proven technology rather than taking the risk of experimenting and developing their own technologies. By contrast, the US provides a fantastic living laboratory for people to try, fail, learn and try again WITHOUT the social stigma of being a "failed person". In fact, we applaud "fail often, fail fast, rinse and repeat" rather than vilify it. It's CULTURE.

It's sad that China hasn't been able to learn from it's long long history, even if they didn't know what to do, they should have already learned what not to do. I guess when you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it. In plain and simple terms a revolution by the people is needed for reform. But this time, it needs to be the majority, not minority of people to take their country back

I disagree, one can find the same Han supremacy, racism, xenophobia and authoritarian rule in Singapore, a country supposedly based on Confucian values. Lee Kuan Yew was a prominent member of the triads, where they operate with impunity. One can check the July 2019
Orchard Towers Murder case to see how the law actually protects the triads.
Chinese societies have some serious problems and it’s simplistic to just blame the CCP. Actually because of Chinese mentality, thugs like the CCP could take control. And one must remember Taiwan’ Koumintag has also connections with the triads.
In Thailand, drugs and prostitution are in control of Thai-Chinese, thus they have opposed legalisation.
This is not about being anti-Chinese or anything but one must identify the root causes to address the problems in Chinese societies

Except the CCP isn’t a “Han” problem. It’s a western ideology and it has no place in Chinese culture.

You are talking about Marxism and Communism? Anyone with any experience on the ground in China knows those ideologies are just window dressing, Communists officials love money more than anyone.
Yes, it’s a Han problem because in you look at Chinese history, this is not the first time genocide is being committed in China. An Hui province was a Miao kingdom as late as the 7th century; all wiped out. Same for Dali Kingdom, the Bo people in Sichuan.
And where are the Manchus? Totally destroyed as a people, they even lost the name of the country, now it’s Dongbei.
And this is not only happening in China. The first Han settlers in Taiwan went there to work for the Dutch tin mines. The country was mainly inhabited by ingenious people. Now they are a minority, treated like scum.
Again, Singapore is a fine example why this is not only a problem of the Chinese government but it has deeper causes because in Singapore, it’s the same Han supremacy, racism and xenophobia. The Malay minority is treated there as scum. They are 5% of the population but 70% of inmates in prisons are Malays

Soviet Union? There are also elements of 1920s to mid 1940s Imperial Japan in the mix.
Interwar / WW2 Era Imperial Japan compared to present day People's republic of China
Army faction vs Navy Faction internal strife is comaprable to the Beijing / "Hardliner Communist" versus the Shanghai / "More liberal" cliques / factions.
Both nations in their eras experienced economic sanctions / embargo that lead them to rely on other means of getting the raw materials their economies desperately need.
Both nations want to expand their territory as a buffer against encroaching Western Powers
There are a lot more comparisions I can make.

Douglas MacArthur had an argument once with one of his subordinates about dictatorship vs. democracy - MacArthur's stance was that dictatorship works only during times of crisis and once the crisis was over, democracy must be restored. Lee Kwan Yeuw was a pseudo-dictator and built the modern day Singapore - but he used free-market capitalism to power Singapore - a big difference from a planned Soviet style economy.

Yes, the Soviet Union beat the Germans, but you must remember that the US was supporting them just as much as we were supporting the UK with "lend lease." If you look up the number of war machines and weapons (tanks, planes, trucks, jeeps, etc) and amount of ammunition and food (millions of tons of food and bullets and shells) that we sent to the USSR, you'll be pretty shocked. We sent thousands of train locomotives and rail cars. Etc etc etc. Without the US, the USSR would have had a much, much harder time. And, then, the USSR turned on the US. Oh well.

Hitler used defeat(humiliation) in WWI for WW2 aggression now XI-tler is using 100 years of humiliation for its aggression on the way to WW3 towards its own destruction like the former USSR for it need to shoulder alone the mintenance cost of its military and its hardware, as compared to distributed cost to USA and its allies

A more planned economy is required for high technology manufacture which requires long supply chains to work. For example a car manufacturer could not start up unless someone else decides to simultaneously set up to provide the steel in close proximity. You need the vertical integration to cut production costs. A nation of shop keepers though is more suitable to a free market system because the traditional shop was efficient on a small scale and could be family-owned. With small business the consumer is faced with a wide choice. Monopoly suppliers break free market rules. Each type of business has an optimum scale it can run at. Take a look at Germany post WW2. It was categorised as a capitalist country, but was one of the most socialist of those called capitalist. The US is considered capitalist, but it has lost its manufacturing economy. There are many other factors also, like the US reserve currency status.
