Britain took advantage of China's civil war to help draw the line between China and India, but China has never acknowledged it. After India's independence, it believed that it inherited the heritage of the British colonists, but China still did not recognize the boundary line. In 1962, with the support of the United States and the Soviet Union, the Indian army marched deep into Tibet, which was Nehru's forward policy. As a result, a war broke out between China and India in the border areas. After China defeated India, it took the initiative to declare a cease-fire and withdraw its troops to 20 kilometers north of the actual line of control, thus separating the two sides from contact. After that, China returned more than 4000 Indian prisoners of war and weapons seized from the Indian army. The reason why China won in the war but did not occupy the disputed areas is not because of the pressure from the United States. We all know that China had dealt with 16 countries headed by the United States as early as in the Korean War, and also with the United States in the Vietnam War. Then, why did China choose to withdraw its troops northward instead of occupying the disputed areas? The real reason is that the Chinese leaders at that time still wanted to solve the problem through peaceful negotiations. Only in this way can disputes be resolved permanently. If land is obtained through war, the two countries will never be able to resolve their hatred. Another reason is that both China and India suffered from aggression and colonization before independence. China hopes to maintain friendship with the third world countries and jointly confront the two superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union.
What you are saying is sheer false propaganda. Falsehood and lies won't solve the problem, China is claiming half of the world, why would anyone just let Chinese take what is not theirs?

China already solved land boundary problems with all 16 of his neighbor countries over the past 30 years by negotiations inch by inch, except India who refused to negotiate. The incident happened in 2020 when China was in Covid-19 pandemic, Hundreds of India soldiers went across the control line, killed 4 Chinese soldiers there, so the Chinese soldiers living about 20 Minutes away came and fight back, 20 India soldiers died, mostly because of too cold in water when fled back and not rescued in time. At least 10 India Soldiers were captured and returned safely. The Chinese Government controlled the conflicts by concealing the message that 4 chinese soldiers were killed, including two colonels, and don't let the public known until one year later. China don't want to be enemy with India because we are both developing countries, and the US with five eyes are the countries who want to kill China mostly. Even in 1962, Mao Zedong can't understand for a long time why India continuous starting the conflicts. At that time, China was just recovered from a big famine, and looked very weak, Tibet was very far away and very difficult to supply, but they won the war in 1962.

Once, an MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) applied for a visa to China and he was told by Chinese govt. that "you don't need a visa to come to your own country". Because if China issues us Arunachal natives visa, they will be indirectly admitting that the people of Arunachal Pradesh, and therefore Arunachal Pradesh itself, are foreign and not part of the People's Republic of China. Same thing happened to a sports team (I think an archery team). However that team was given a stapled visa. Also my dad works in the IRS (Indian Revenue Service). @@DavidS-gx1ok Tibet became a vassal state of China hundreds of years ago, why don't you think about what Britain did to the American continent in the past? They not only invaded, but also massacred Indians frantically, and those people even established the current United States.
Tibet had long been subject to Beijing in the Yuan Dynasty. Tibetan areas in the Ming and Qing dynasties were also under the jurisdiction of the Beijing government. After India became a British colony in the 19th century, it began to gradually and continuously promote the colonial expansion centered on India to the north, including controlling the traditional Tibetan settlement Ladakh in the northwest (currently an Indian-controlled area on the western border of China and India). A "Johnson line" was drawn, and Aksai Chin was included in Kashmir controlled by British India. In the middle section, the British army occupied Tibet's Yadong Fortress (the area north of the Sino-Indian middle section border) to the north. At the beginning of the 20th century, the British colonists intensified the northward movement. Later, with Indian officials, they drew the "McMahon Line" north of the traditional Sino-Indian border in northeastern India, and included about 90,000 square kilometers of southern Tibet into British India. After India became independent in 1947, it believed that it had inherited the legacy of the British Empire in India. The Chinese-controlled areas west of the "Johnson Line" and south of the "McMahon Line" belonged to India. But it does not discuss Britain, the former ruler of India, and the Qing Empire, the predecessor of China. From the observations after the founding of India and China, the actual control lines have been changed many times in the middle and western sections in recent years. The following is an example of southern Tibet. In 1947, the Union of India was established. In 1948, India sent troops into southern Tibet. In 1949, the People's Republic of China was established. In 1950, the Republic of India was established. In February 1951, Indian troops occupied Tawang area. In May 1951, China peacefully recovered Tibet. In 1953, the Indian army expanded northward and acquired about 90,000 square kilometers of territory south of the "Mc Line", and crossed the "Mc Line" in a few places. In 1960, the Indian Army completely controlled the south of the "Mc Line". In June 1962, India crossed the "Wheat Line" and entered the Chadong area in the south of Tibet. In November 1962, the Chinese army occupied most of southern Tibet, including Tawang, Bundila, Mechuka and Varong.and Retreat back. In 1964, the Indian army reoccupied the area and confronted the Chinese army near the "Mc Line". In 1972, India changed the Northeast Frontier Special Zone to the Arunachal Central Territory. In 1987, India announced the establishment of Arunachal Pradesh. There is one more thing here. Wang Qi is a veteran of the Sino-Indian border war. On New Year’s Day in 1963, he lost his way and broke into India on the border and asked for help from the Indian Red Cross ambulance. It lasted for seven years until the court ordered his release in 1969. Since then, they have been applying to the Indian government to return to China, but most of them ignored them. In 2012, Wang Qi sought help from the Chinese Embassy in India for identification and asked to apply for a Chinese passport. In May 2013, when the embassy issued Wang Qi a 10-year Chinese passport, India still did not provide an exit permit. It was not until February 11, 2017 that he returned to his hometown.

It's more likely that the British intentionally creates disputes so that the victims of its colonization will not unite against them.
Very well said
china did something stupid, they trusted the pajeeets which obviously has gotten even more prideful and angry and arrogantly demands more and more land, china should have marched all the way to delhi before india had nukes then took the entirety of north east india like the kuomingtang wanted under chiang kai chek, really sucks the ccp won the civil war, chiang would have had backing of the usa as well, in fact the usa hated india at the time and supported pakistan,
china and the usa could have invaded india together and took half of the land.

China refuses to give people from my state visa.
So once when I and my family went to Nathula Pass, I shook hands with a PLA soldier while another soldier took our photo (he didn't ask permission). One of the Indian soldiers later told us that anyone they suspect of being Tibetan (and we do have Tibetan facial features, hardly a surprise since my culture belongs to the Sino-Tibetan family), they take a photo of them.
So my 10 year old pic might be with the Chinese military *shudders!*.

Why don't you mentioned the war of 1967 in Sikkim.
So basically China and India both choose to accept/ignore British borders depending on whether it gives them more land or not

Plz change the thumbnail the kashmir part is not claimed by india it is an integral part of India which was captured by China in 1962 and Pakistan in 1947

Research is spectacular but pls. mind the map of IN. 🙂
It's disputed territory w/ Pak so it has a dotted line no need to point out
@Shyamkumar Khangembam bruh they put dotted lines because it's disputed territory. Part of Kashmir is occupied by Pak, part of it by Ind so they put dotted lines. They always put dotted lines for disputed and unrecognised borders
this is the map of India utilised everywhere in the world. sorry that your nationalist sanghi brain cannot handle that
@Abhi Raj I’m not a dumbfuck ultranationalist, I wish Kashmiri people get their freedom from Indian occupation you clown
@@aryman6589 I too wish them to again become a sovereign nation. But that's kinda hard rn. Because of Pakistan ,China and India as the area will have to have compulsory military training. And the area is quite mountainous so it will become a logistical nightmare to handle. So yeah kinda hard to achieve but possible

Very fine analysis.
Why blame British? They drew the line, but it wasn't officially demarcated. Neither did Brits impose on newly independent states; they are free to decide their borders. Burma and Pakistan realigned the border with China, only India insisted on claiming British imperial line, even areas that Brits never controlled. It's entirely India's own decision.
If they never drew it
Then there will never be any excuses
@@jellyfesh7517 It's up to newly independent states to decide. The border was not demarcated, Burma and Pakistan realigned it with some give and take. Only India insists on claiming every inch. Blaming British is just an excuse.

@@jellyfesh7517 The dispute areas were never part of historical India if you're honest. Entire Northeast also not part historical India. But China is only claiming up to what was her from previous dynasty, nothing more. Early British map showed the areas were indeed part of Chinese rule. China has signed border demarcation treaties with almost all countries except India. In the 1960s, China proposed to use the existing line of actual control as the boundary line (presumably Aksai Chin would go to China and Arunachal would go to India), but India refused and insisted on the British line. Then in 1962, the Chinese army captured all disputed areas and was about to arrive in New Delhi. Then, China withdrew and retained its current line of control.
China also claims tibet…. Oh wait, it invaded it
@@DavidS-gx1ok Tibet became a vassal state of China hundreds of years ago, why don't you think about what Britain did to the American continent in the past?
