I just recently got my sewing machine working and tried my hand at sewing fabric onto a tag....and I'm addicted so this is perfect to try...I'm adding this to my crafting "to do's" list! Beautiful chunky journal. Love this idea with the bags. I just ordered 12 x 12 pad of Tim Holtz before there is none available, probably will hoard it. I store my Timmy people/ephermera in photo clear cases, I purchased the cases from Michael’s. Happy Crafting! 👍🌼🌼🌼
Your journal is just gorgeous - I'm glad you're keeping it. Your hand pain reminds me of when I had carpel tunnel in both hands - it hurt to grip a book or use scissors, etc. It was an easy out patient surgery - one hand at a time - and pain free ever since. I was thinking and I agree, I don't understand why Tim H would get rid of 12 x 12 paper pads. I was in Hobby Lobby today and was surprised at the poor selection of Paper Studio brand of 12 x 12 paper pads. Barely any were double sided! Lots of single sided thin scrapbook paper was available.
I love the 3 ladies and the wings. When you put the book page under the ladies and it covered up one wing -- I thought -- Oooh! What if you took and x-acto blade and sliced around the one wing so you could tuck the book page behind the ladies and that one wing? :)

Hmm, don’t know that I’m the authority of the definition or difference, but here’s my take. I think of it as you can “embellish” a piece of “ephemera”. Ephemera being journal cards, tags, cut outs and such. Embellishments being paper or fabric clusters, lace, flowers, birds, butterflies etc. In my mind, embellish and decorate are synonymous. Embellishment and decoration also. Ephemera can be vintage items like time cards, flash cards, tea cards, old receipts, etc. as well. Hope that helps! ❤️

I get a kick hearing you say sack instead of bag! When I was just out of college and waiting to get a "real" job in teaching, I worked at one of the local big department stores (in Maryland). I was helping a woman and asked her, "Would you like a sack for that?" She laughed and asked me what part of the midwest I was from. I never knew there was ever anything else to call it! I'm from Illinois, but haven't lived there since I was 8 - many years since I've been 8! - and, yes, I still call it a sack!
I didn’t know it was a Midwest thing. My mother was from the Midwest but I don’t remember what she called it. To me I always think of a sack is the flat thing like Gayle is using and I think of a bag as something with a flat bottom like a gift bag or a grocery bag that opens up with a flat bottom. I don’t know if that’s true or if that’s just in my mind I guess I should Google it. There’s different names for things everywhere like in the US a purse it’s a purse that you carry all your stuff in but in the UK a purse is what we call a wallet, and in the UK a wallet is what a man has.

I get a kick hearing you say sack instead of bag! When I was just out of college and waiting to get a "real" job in teaching, I worked at one of the local big department stores (in Maryland). I was helping a woman and asked her, "Would you like a sack for that?" She laughed and asked me what part of the midwest I was from. I never knew there was ever anything else to call it! I'm from Illinois, but haven't lived there since I was 8 - many years since I've been 8! - and, yes, I still call it a sack!
I didn’t know it was a Midwest thing. My mother was from the Midwest but I don’t remember what she called it. To me I always think of a sack is the flat thing like Gayle is using and I think of a bag as something with a flat bottom like a gift bag or a grocery bag that opens up with a flat bottom. I don’t know if that’s true or if that’s just in my mind I guess I should Google it. There’s different names for things everywhere like in the US a purse it’s a purse that you carry all your stuff in but in the UK a purse is what we call a wallet, and in the UK a wallet is what a man has.
