I'm glad you are putting this out there as you are the first I've seen, would have loved to work with you. Now retired but you bring back the memories of job gone by.
barry hansen, as far as I know, I am the only channel with this kind of content, and uploading consistently. Feel free to share with everyone. 🙂 Thanks for watching.
Thanks for stopping in! 🙂 Only the towers that can be reached with a crane are built like this. Some towers are built using tuggers (winches) and gin poles.
Jeff Pratt most companies have certified riggers. In the event that they don't, all of the support personnel in our company are certified riggers/signal persons. On this particular job, the person with me happens to be a certified crane operator as well.
Looks a bit nerve wracking. I think I'd have a bigger fan because I'd be sweating bullets swinging those sections in the wind. Have you ever been in a situation that scared the shit out of you? Thanks, and thanks for the videos.
Duncan MacKenzie, there are times that it is very stressful. Part 2 of the cell tower is one of those times. Also, yes, I have had situations that made me check my seat afterwards. Lol
Chris Rowland we have our own two way radios. On this job, we used the ones provided by the tower company. All of the tower employees on this job are certified rigger/signal persons. In the event that the contractor doesn't have a certified rigger/signal person, all of the support personnel in our company are certified riggers/signal persons.
That1ufo, I tried. Since the Gopro smart remote uses wi-fi, it didn't work. We had another tower in the vicinity and I think it was interfering with the camera and remote.
Something about a diesel engine running really early in the morning when everyone else is sleeping and the sky is pitch dark is just comforting to me…
it should be

For a job like this labor manpower and equipment's like crane and foundation work, how much will cost the contractor exclusive materials?
Good share pretty cool
Mickey Wilson, thank you and thanks for watching. 🙂
new supporter here. very cool video. always wondered how these were built.

This looks like what is being built down the road from me.
I just keep thinking, "don't pinch my finger mF'er" lol.
02pwrstrk don't want pinched fingers??? Keep them in your pockets! Lol 😉
I’m a new supporter to your channel. This is an awesome video! I’ve never seen this do e before:)
Cherie Carpenter, thanks for watching and subscribing. 🙂
This makes me wish I could still climb. I enjoyed it the few time's I had the opportunity.
How long does it take to build a tower like this? thanks!
Smooth, good operation
Neg Ice, thanks! 🙂
Does the customer have a qualified person on site to inform ground crew on proper placement of straps for the pick?

Down under you are not allowed to hook up any crane with out being a qualified rigger.
Looks like fun
Lawn Commander it was actually a pretty stressful job. You'll probably see why in part 2.
How about building one in Puerto Rico?

Why the hell is that goober standing under a load?
Does the cell tower contractor do the rigging and provide all the radio communications with you?

What scope of work does rigging imply? How long was the crane installation if the winds were acceptable? Is 15MPH winds max for safety?
Try putting the remote to your chin, it works with car remotes.

From the camera angle it sure looked like the ground man was walking right under that first section as it was partially suspended
Where is this going up
Fun
Are 5g towers hazardous to people, animals and/or the environment
how much do they get paid for this
watch the Russians stand these up with him poles or one tiny 20ton crane.
james norse, if they can do that with a 20 ton, more power to them. LOL! Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
