  • Ben's bread will still be available for Atlantic Canadians, but soon under the Dempster's name. The company says it will pay homage to the Ben's brand on the back of the packaging for the new loaves. In March 1993, CBC met some of the workers on the assembly line at Ben's Bakery in Halifax, which later closed in 2015.

Okay I am originally from New Glasgow Nova Scotia but live in Toronto and when I saw the name I had to check it out because when I was growing up Ben's was the bread we bought unless my mom baked some😊😊😊😊

I used to ride past Ben's on my morning bike commute to work just for the delicious smell.

Good jobs like that are few and far between these days, where you can work nights and support a wife and kids at home.
