Aftermarket speakers are better with an aftermarket amp. Unless your car is higher end and stock factory stereo is higher wattage output. If it's not, then you loose quite a bit of bass vs factory speakers
Very true about the wattage, but when it comes to replacing door speakers for aftermarket upgrades, you’re pretty much always going to lose bass regardless of it being amplified due to crossovers. Hence why we all install subwoofers to properly set the sound stage and bring those nice low frequencies back. And don’t forget the tweeters for the highs!
@@ETG311 what? Plenty of my cars I’ve only installed good stereos and speakers and never felt like I needed a subwoofer unless I wanted absurd bass. Considering there are so many ways, we will make another video on how to securely and safely make electrical connections. And to answer your question, we didn't include that in the video for sake of time. Thank you for your feedback!

Hello, i have installed an aftermarket pioneer stereo (deh- s320bt) in my car which says "output power: 50 (*4) watts" . Until how many watts RMS speakers can i buy? Cause i dont know if this "50" is watt RMS. For example if i place 80 Watt RMS speakers in my car, will the stereo be burnt? I have found some speakers (Jbl stage2 604c) which are 45 watt RMS and 270 watt max power . Will they fit my car?
with some car audio speakers they require a 4way amplifier (not a subwoofer amp) the actual car speakers. i would love to see a video on how to install that
hey i got a question....i have a chevy cruze 2014 iam trying to install 6x9 in the rear deck. but my car came with no speakers or wires in the rear. but the hole is there but the actual carpet panel doesnt have the holes. do i have to cut out the holes so the speakers can go through or just leave it the ay it is and just install the speakers?
I'm a real noob when it comes to this and I have a question. Are the wiers on all speakers the same ? I have an old car with crap speakers hooked up to a radio. Can I install new speakers with the same wier from the old speakers ? or will I have to get new wiers.
I have a speaker that comes with built-in lights. Where should I connect its positive terminal so that the speaker lights turn on when I switch on my vehicle lights? Also where should I connect the ground wire? Pls help
Double check and see if the packaging for your speakers note what voltage the lights require. If it's 12v, you would need to run a wire from the speaker to another wire that turns on when the vehicle turns on, or to a fuse box where you could tap into a circuit using a fuse tap. The fuse tap option might be easier if you don't have a multimeter to probe wires with. You'd just pull out a fuse for something that turns on when your vehicle does, insert the fuse tap in its place, insert the original fuse into the bottom slot of the fuse tap, insert a new fuse in the top slot to protect your lights, then connect the positive light wire to the fuse tap. As for the ground, find a bolt or nut that screws directly into metal that is relatively near your speaker (you might even find one with wires attached already, that is a grounding point), put a ring terminal on your wire, unscrew the nut or bolt, attach ring terminal, and screw back down. The entire metal chassis of your vehicle is connected to the negative post of your battery, this is why you might come across a bolt with wires connected to it like I mentioned previously. One last thing. If the packaging states that the required voltage for the lights is less than 12v, you're going to need a resistor on the positive wire going to the lights to drop the voltage down. I would assume they are 12v, but if not you can use a resistor calculator online to find what value resistor you'd need. Sorry for the wall of text, but I hope this helps. Sincerely, the guy from this video.
I need help guys and this video was awesome. I just got a 2006 chevy tahoe. I installed some 300w Pioneer speakers in front now i need back door speakers. My buddy gave me a pair of 6x9 and it says the back is 5x3/4 how do i mount them?
If I wanted to to add a Center Dash channel to a stock 4-channel radio, is it OK to use the left front positive lead, and the right front negative lead with an 8 ohm L-pad to create a center dash mono channel?
That would be a waste. Most if not all sub woofers require an amp to get the kind of power necessary to the speakers. Also sub woofers are highly specialized in the sound they deliver. Car speakers can deliver highs mids and low sounds where as the sub woofer is only lows. Your car would only be able to make the sound of a microwave really. Vocals could no longer be heard but the drums will sound fantastic.
Manjunath wtf no. Speakers work by using electromagnetism to create a magnetic field that oscillates the membrane and creates vibration, ultimately vibrating the air around it and making sound.
Joe Barbaro with car door speakers it doesnt matter which one is positive and which is negative just connect the wires to either one. In this guys case its super easy because all you have to do is match small with small and big with big
You need to add a spacer in between the speaker and where it mounts. If you google the make and model of your vehicle along with "speaker spacer" you might be able to find pre-fabricated ABS spacers specific to the speaker holes of your vehicle. Maybe also check the Metraonline.com vehicle fit guide and see if they have anything for your car. If you can't find them for some reason, you might need to make some with some MDF or ABS, or if you don't have tools you can probably find a car audio shop to make some for you.
I'm planning on replacing my stock door speakers on my 2014 Nissan Sentra but I'm hearing some debate about 2 way and 3 way speakers. Some say 3 way speakers aren't any better that 2 way speakers. In fact they say it's worse because the tweeters restrict vibrations of the woofer. In your opinion which is better ? I'm looking for power and clarity.
Doamino41 In case of 3 way you hear a good combination of good bass and voice clarity. there no such thing like tweeters do affect bass or etc.. :) In case of 2 way you hear more bass but a limited voice clarity. Make sure to already select a good speaker!
Doamino41 did you install aftermarket speakers with the stock radio ? If you did were there any changes in audio cause there's some things going around talking about how they would sound shitty if you use the stock radio with aftermarket speakers.
Actually I did replace all my speakers with Pioneers. 6 by 9s in the back and 6 1/2 in the doors. What a pain in the ass! Now it sounds louder but not clearer. That means I will need an after market double din radio with a SWC adapter. Some sources suggest an amplifier also. But yes you are right. Better speakers with the same crappy stereo won't sound much better.
I'm pretty sure I can just use new speaker wire that has a positive and negative and just twist then clamp them onto the original wires of the car? Isn't that all that you actually bought ?just positive and negative wires cut the clip off then crimp it? I'm sorry I'm just about to do this to my car and was wondering thanks! Great video btw .
Love Sucks correct! The new speakers will come with a wiring harness in the box, normally with pressure fit connections pre installed (like in the video). If they don't, you can easily attach your own speaker wire between the speaker and speaker wiring from your car, either by using crimp connectors, or soldering. Best of luck with your install! Let us know if you have any further questions.
Could you help me to make decision for my car audio upgradation? I dont want a sub. Cs 6.5 front & Ks 6x9 3way rear, do this combination make good bass? do revert pls :)
