    Just stumbled across this video great to see it in your shop. The primer container to my knowledge wasn’t cracked must have been shipping like you thought. The handle was hard to get off so I used the hole in the handle bar to disassemble for leverage. I’m very excited to see the finished product. Thank you Dan.

      Not a problem, I am just getting started on it. I think the primer catcher was damaged during shippment, it looks like a fresh crack, thanks again, Dan.

    I may be interested in converting my 366 to Auto advance and swing out wad feed. I will be interested when you take on new jobs.

      Thank you, I am dialing in a few things to make the conversions easier for me so when this one is done I should have everything ready to go, Thanks again, Dan.

    Hey Dan. I own a Pacific DL-366 and would like to purchase the auto index mechanism you've manufactured. I checked out your website, couldn't find it. Thanks

      Thanks, the auto index and swing out wad guide are conversions that I do from time to time although right now I am not taking any as I have been to busy with other projects. I have never offered the parts as there is some modifications to the original press castings for it to operate correctly.

      @@hillsgun gotcha. Well, if and when you might decide to take on some new orders, I'm interested. Thanks!

    I’m looking at a pacific 366 for $250….is that even in the ballpark for a functional press? Are there better options?

    • @hillsgun

      If you compare it to a new 366 that is a reasonable price as new they are well over a thousand but the pacific is probably manual index and straight wad guide. there are other options such as the mec, but I prefer the hornady/pacific. to upgrade the pacific to auto advance and swing out wad guide puts them at about 1/2 to 3/4 the cost of new but as far as I know I am the only one currently converting them and I am way behind on the one I am currently working on. Dan.

    I made extra large shot containers for reloaders with there own base that would bolt down to the bench . for mec I made it mount under the machine but wouldn't add any weight to the machine itself. They hold over 75lbs of shot and with an option of powder container to hold a pound of powder with shut offs to allow machine to tilt for cleaning or repairs. Mainly for the hydraulic n electric ones for trap n skeet shooters. If you would like I can send pictures.

      Yes there have been several designs for larger capacity powder and shot hoppers including one I am refining. What provisions have you done to be able to empty the hoppers at the end of a reloading session or to easily swap components?

    I think you probably don't work on 366 but ,I have a 266 single stage could it be possible to convert to load 3 inch

      I believe the dies are the same for both models, but haven’t researched it, Dan.

      @@hillsgun thank you for making time to answer me , if the machine was a 366 what dies should I use to converted to 3 inch and thanks again for the reply

      There are no options as far as I know, you have to use 366 dies from Hornady.

    have you ever worked on Hornady Apex 3.1 press?

    • @hillsgun
      @hillsgun  2 года назад

      Not enough to be knowledgable, A friend of mine loaded all his trap ammunition on one when they first came out and I seem to remember that Hornady replaced a couple of parts that broke but don't remember the details. I played with it some and loaded on it a few hundred rounds. When it was brand new it loaded nicely but after several thousand rounds not so much. The Apex was somewhat short lived as I beleive it was ment to be an economical alternative to the 366 but I don't think it held up well.
