Inside a DREAM ARTIST STUDIO in Florence

This week, I visit my happy place. My dear friend Betty Soldi creates beautiful designs from this idyllic studio in a garden in Florence. We find out about the stunning limonaia (house for growing lemons) which she now calls her 'office', her background and inspiration, and take part in one of her 'inksperience' sessions. If I could do this every morning, I'd be there!

Enjoyed Betty's energy and her way of looking at her work. It's true, I also find the spiritual is behind me working in a supportive way, whereas the inspiration is in front and above me. In front of me are my hands and the materials I use. Above me, the archetypes, such as the planets and the zodiac. Each archetype has specific qualities that can inform the sculptures in a unique way, with inspiring qualities and positive energy.

Okay, love you both!! I lived in Florence for 3 months just prior to the pandemic. We did an etching class and it was incredible. I love paper and calligraphy so I'll be following for sure!
