I just had your channel come to my attention today. While your on your break i will watch them all to bring me up to date. So far im living it. We lived in Colorado for 30 years and traveled all through the area on our Harley, and camped in the black hills. We moved to Florida during the 09 financial crises. We miss the area so much
Great video Carson. It is really amazing that you can move all of those cows at once with 5 horses on horseback. Can't imagine riding all of those miles and hours on Horseback. You must have been really sore by the end of the day.
Carson, I think you have a great opportunity here to educate as well as entertain. Growing up in North Dakota I have a great appreciation for farmers and ranchers and love every opportunity to learn more about them and share what I learn with others. A couple great channels I watch regularly are Millennial Farmer and My Wyoming Life. Both channels have different approaches but both offer great entertainment as well as education. I think you could get some great ideas from their channels and maybe even reach out for ideas and suggestions. I really hope you and your wife keep up with this, I am really looking forward to watching more of your great videos. I will also be sharing your channel with family and friends to hopefully give you a boost. Sincerely Rowland Marshall
I have just found your site by chance. I love your scenery and way of living. I am in the UK. I love your video's so far. You live in a wonderful place. I am glad you found your cows. Keep the video's coming. Thank you.
Mountain lion! Do you have wolves? I have friends in Central Idaho, beef ranchers, that have lost thousands and thousands of dollars to wolf predation. At first, maybe 20 years ago, or more, the government reimbursed them. That program dried up and now they have to absorb the loss.
Wow that would be very tough! We lose cattle in the hills very frequently and don’t know what happened to them. Wolves have been seen in the area but we don’t have a substantial population of them, but you never know exactly what happens when you aren’t around!
There is a cattle ranch that has been using riders to watch over their herd and to move them along. With the presence of humans the wolves have stayed away from the herd. They do cowboy/girl and it works for that ranch. They hire seasonally.

I'm a semi retired farmer from southeast pennsylvania
That’s awesome Ed, thanks for checking us out. We are located in the northern Black Hills, on the South Dakota-Wyoming border!
That's very beautiful country. what county/state is that, ( where the tree line is ) What is the elevation????
Thank you! This is in the northern black hills of South Dakota, the elevation in this video is probably around 7,000 ft
Have you ever have any issues with Mountain Lions or any other predators harming your livestock?
