  • The U.S. economy is facing challenges from several headline events - including an imminent government shutdown and labor and energy pressures - while still facing down a possible recession. PIMCO Managing Director and Economist Tiffany Wilding joins Yahoo Finance Live to discuss the U.S. economy's outlook amid the multitude of headwinds. "The United States core PCE inflation was actually around 6% when the Fed started hiking interest rates," Wilding explains. "Looking back in time, when you've had rate hiking cycles that have started like that... it doesn't tend to end with the economy expanding - it tends to end unfortunately in some sort of recession. Now that recession could be mild." For more expert insight and the latest market action, click here to watch this full episode of Yahoo Finance Live.

It's alright to just say "I have no idea"
To put it bluntly: This combination of macro factors is unique & the global economic environment in relationship to the US is unique
We have been hearing talks of a recession since 2021. Still hasn't occurred... but it will eventually occur because it's the business CYCLE. Guessing this will be the year, every year, just makes you a broken clock that's right twice a day

I don't think so because we have $2 trillion from IRA that will be spent starting in 2024.

Oh no! 😰 That sounds really concerning. It's important to stay positive and support each other during tough times. We've faced challenges before, and we'll get through this together. Hang in there! 💪🌟

Good morning USA! Being selective with my choiced words and white noise! Trying my best to come out of this bad economical draught caused by the rise and fall of stocks, as God is not defined in anyone’s nation, I speak solely as a citizen, not an expert! All of this mess imposed upon us because our Gov’t was unable to balance a $60T budget, and went to war? With whom? It appears to civilian citizens to be that the USA is at odds with everyone? Huh? Over what? Money? Listen, cool hand Luke, that would be impossible since your greatest economist is God! Who I have come to know as a genius! He said to take 1/5 of grain (wealth) and store it! That is called Savings! Then, take from the fish’s mouth the same wealth and pay your taxes, that’s settlement! 👍, now let those who have no money come and buy (that’s spending)!! Now, I am no genius, and far be it absolutely not an economist! However, God is and if you are listening to God then balance on God Settlements, Savings and spending! Cause that is what economists are expected to do! My two cents! Thanks for listening! Peace

Well it's interesting that we have the digital error now then it was in the 40s... So 34 trillion dollars just in national debt and unfunded liabilities of 175 trillion is outrageous.....
Hyperinflation and will destroy the dollar! then what?
