Denise has inspired me that my husband and I can do this! Thanks for the video.
Wonderful!
This a great tutorial. Saved me a lot of time.
Thank you so much. It is nice to hear that our video was helpful. Good luck on your bending hoops and thanks for watching.
You make very thorough explanations of the process involved every time. Thank you and God bless.
Good job... thanks for carefully explaining how it's done.
You bet Paul. Thanks for watching our videos too!
You guys are just awesome, I love your style! THX
Zelo nazorno prikazan! Hvala za vaš prispevek!
Brigita: Hvala za vaše prijazne besede in za gledanje naših videoposnetkov!
Thank you ... this helped alot
You're welcome! So glad it is helpful. Thank you for watching.
nice work. I was using pvc pipes, but winter snows have been tough on them. I will probably go to 1/2" emt this year. My low tunnel is in 1" and holds 2 feet of snow. It's been a long winter.
Thanks you two :)
New sub here, been enjoying your vids, very helpful to someone looking to start a small market garden. Have a great week:)
Thanks for watching!
I appreciated your showing the process more than once. Have you tried doing it with one person and some quick release clamps? Thank you.
Hi @Thom Bluemel. we haven't done it solo but the method you suggest should work well. Key we found is keep the conduit straight/level. A larger work table might accomplish the same. Conduit actually bends quite easy with little force.
@@BareMtnFarm Thos video has to be the all-time best video on bending hoops for the garden. I have used these instructions to bend many, many hoops for myself, relatives and neighbors. GREAT video and thank you so much!
Takie ćwiczenia dla tej kobietki to jak dar od Boga
dobra robota
nice
Great video. What kind of pipe/tube did you use for your jig t make the bender?
Hi @Fre3dome Collective, We used a bender made by a company call "Johnny's Seeds here in the U.S. That being said I think one could make their own using pipe like that used as the top rail of chain link fence. I think the size is 1 3/8" or about 35 mil. Most home improvemt centers carry this in 10'6" or 3m lengths.
@@BareMtnFarm Thanks I will hunt down something similar here in Scotland.
Great video thank you for this! Do you find that the plastic covers the tunnels fully, or is there a small gap? (I slip my hoops over fiberglass electric fence rods that have been driven into the ground.)
Hi Linda; we use 10' wide by 100' long poly. The conduit is 10' so it meshes up nicely.
if i will use a 20 foot pipe, how high and wide will the hoop be? thank you.
@Mumbaki Pepperhead Depends on the width. we built a PVC hoop house with 20' SCH 40 1.5". The width was 12' and the max height inside at peak was approx 6.5'
thank you sir
Hi Guys what would the measurements be for making these for a 3 foot wide bed? and what gauge (thickness) is the EMT you're using?
Hi Peter; Johnny's Seed carries a modified bender that works on creating 3' wide spacing which would work well on beds that are 2.5' wide. The tunnel height would be about 4.5' at peak. The cost before shipping is 59 USD. Here is the link: www.johnnyseeds.com/tools-supplies/greenhouse-and-tunnel-supplies/benders/low-tunnel-3-w-x-4.5-h-quick-hoops-bender-7616.html. The EMT conduit we use is 1/2" in diameter. The wall thickness is approx .042" or 1.07 mm or about 18 gauge. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much Tony; I have just received my bender here in Scotland from Johnnys in the USA in 1 week!! amazing. Thank you as always for the information re the conduit I appreciate you taking the time to reply and all your excellent videos
How long are the conduit lengths you're using? Thx.
Diana
Hi, thank you for your question. The metal conduit are 10 ft long. Thank you for watching.
Over 4$ a stick now
Yikes! @Michael Carey Commodity prices on everything are out of whack.
