#DeltaWork #VeryDelta #BibleGirl
I always picture Delta in drag during all of her stories of being out in the world.
she's living that Vida Boheme life
SAME...
Me toooooooo.
Yes yes me too!
Dude same!!! I picture her looking for deals walking around Michael’s turning a look 😂
Being upset that the store employee didn't try to up-sell to you is VERY Delta😂❤
I’m so excited to hear biblegirl TELL IT
OMG GreenGay !
SHES GONNA TELL IT... TELL. IT.
Delta. I am here for your one woman crusade to bring back salesmanship and overall good service in retail and the food service industry. You are the patron saint of promotions and salutations.
When Delta asks "Do you want to see me take a break?". I'm like "NOOOO keep going"
I had to FIGHT for the Chanel No.5 I got for my grandma to be wrapped and put in a bag for Christmas this is so real 😭
This is my multiverse of madness
Based comment
Delta’s discussion of gifts with purchase made me so nostalgic for my days as an excitable young gay in the cosmetics department with my grandma.
Sadly, the glamour and luxury era of fragrance vendors and gifts with purchase are a thing of the past. In my day as a Fragrance Foundation Certified Fragrance Expert, an Angel refill would ALWAYS include at least some samples, and a velvet bag in which to put the precious crystal bottle in the instance that the guest didn't bring one with them. Also, the license for Mugler fragrances was bought by L'Oreal some years ago. The culture of Mugler Fragrances has sadly not been carried on through the new license. Tragic. Where is the elegance? The softness? The sophistication? Those who know, those who are Very Delta, miss this culture and yearn for its return.
I feel this comment deep down in my soul.
I’m still mourning the loss of Pure Havane 😭
“Where is the elegance” going to start saying this
I worked at the Cosmetics & Fragrance counter of a VERY upscale privately owned department store in Rochester NY in the mid 80s to early 1990s- the peak of the glamour era. It was fabulous. We actually had to AUDITION for the job and flawless makeup + hair + clothes + high heels were a requirement!! Delta you would have been in heaven. We had samples galore plus the coveted Gift With Purchase which was usually a tshirt, bag, umbrella, or some other exclusive. Gift wrapping was of course offered [free]. Those were the days when makeup testers were right on the counter for communal uses LOL plus I had to hunt down people and spray perfume directly on them [no cards]. We even had a live pianist playing after 6pm. Those were the days. We were trained to be gracious and genteel behind our wall of makeup. I left when I got my Master Degree but it was my favorite job of all time.
Biblegirl bringing a such a thoughtful gift for Delta feels VERY correct. My mothers taught me never to go anywhere empty handed, and I feel that is very Delta.
The way delta talks about customer service truly inspires the way I handle myself at work. Just putting in a little sense of empathy and conversation can really brighten a customers day and improve the work environment. However, if someone does come to me immediately in a mood I will give them the same attitude back if it persist
ugh I feel the same way, Macy's, for example, growing up was almost intimidating to shop there, now it's basically a Ross. The bare minimum service, the overall casualness of the staff, jeans, tshirt with a lanyard name badge, cheap plastic bags they throw your stuff into. it's very sad. I'm surprised they haven't started asking for tips yet haha
Yes! I went into a Macys earlier and it lost its spark- customer service isn't the same anymore. It feels very much like an upgraded Ross.
@@robertstanley9633yes but with higher prices😂
Being on very delta during pride month is VERY biblegirl
Delta, girl, I love you so much. I feel like you and me are the same person. I am literally appalled at the lack of decorum in the higher end department stores now. A few weeks ago I spent several hundred dollars at Nordy's, my purchases, including two high end fragrances in glass bottles, and everything else was all just unceremoniously crammed into a large plastic bag, AND they left that ink tag security thing on TWO of the garments I purchased. And to make it all perfect, the cashier asked me if I wanted the receipt, or if I wanted it in the bag. I always ask for the receipt to be put in the bag. It's how I can make sure I don't lose the receipt between leaving the store and getting home. I got home, that receipt was not in the bag. So now I don't have any receipt to prove that I purchased these two garments that still have ink tags attached to them!!! Am I supposed to walk into Nordy's with two garments with security tags attached to them and NO RECEIPT and ask someone to please remove the tags???? I'll pass on that. I feel like they could call security and I'd end up getting arrested for shoplifting or something. I have called Nordy's and have even been given the email address of the store manager, it's been over a month now, and I have still been offered no resolution. I am fuming. This is the same Nordy's where just the Christmas before, I was upsold on the larger bottle of Versace Eros, and also the move up from toilette to parfum, because in doing so, I was offered..... a GIFT WITH PURCHASE! It was a big, beautiful faux leather Versace weekender duffle! And everything was packed beautifully into the large shopping bag like you were talking about. I don't know how the service fell off so much between Christmas and just about a month and a half ago! I'm just so upset. I went in and spent hundreds, and I was treated like I bought two items off the clearance rack. I don't know if I'll ever go back to that Nordy's ever again. And I live in Wisconsin, so it's basically the only Nordy's I can go to without driving to Chicago (2.5 hours away).
There. Now I just went off. I'm feeling VERY Delta right now.
I love you so much, girl. Always been a huge fan. I'd give an arm and a leg to see you live some day! ❤❤❤
I need a thirty minute special of Deta in unclockable geish looking to make a glamorous purchase from a department store
Y e s
I got a free duffle bag from Aeropostale like 17-18 years ago when I was in HS and i STILL use it to this day 🤣. I can't believe its still held up. Best gift with purchase ever!
I love how this pod has such a particular and unique viewpoint, and this episode really exemplifies that. The knowledge on display here relating just to retail suply chain and best practices is more useful and practical than actual business school.
Hi Delta and esteemed guest! I've been a long time watcher and first time commenter from New Zealand. I love your upfront, confident, and intuitive reactions. I have friends of the LGBTQ family since I was 15. I wanted you to know what the community has encouraged me to live my most authentic self, and, to encourage others to do the same. My question is...what more can I do to support more? I love you and all your friends that join you on the couch. Being visible, more than being seen, is a gift. Much love!
Just the fact that you don't think we're destroying the world is enough.
Talk to your friends/family/people you know who are anti-gay.
Thoroughly convinced Delta brings a piece of her home decor everyday and I love that.
I’ve known about Biblegirl just by seeing her on various videos in RUclips, but I forget how articulate she is. This conversation was great.
In 2015, BibleGirl dragged me on Twitter and I’ve been a huge fan ever since.
Hahaha I love this 😂😂
PERIOD
She once called me a heinous nobody on Insta and blocked me. Looking back now, she ate that.
I could listen to her talk about free gifts with purchase all day.
Delta as a former retail girl, they don’t train us. I was never taught to even wrap things.
My favorite cologne is Versace Eros and once after I bought a big bottle of it at Herberger's I got a GORGEOUS Versace duffel bag that I use whenever I go on weekend trips. Such an amazing gift with purchase, I will never forget it. ❤
Yet another Emmy deserving episode
omg biblegirl!? 😍 winner of ru paul’s drag race 🙌😍
The green orchids on the hair matching the green dress, the beautiful hair, the accessories 😩😩😩🥰🥰🥰❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 also the beautiful metal sculpture on the desk, deltaaa u look so good
I am familiar with Drag Queen Merch but I had never experienced Biblegirl. I have to say, I am a HUGE fan now. What a badass fucking queen. Delta and Biblegirl 4EVER
I can't wait for delta to answer the age old question: how has xannys bro? or coke
I'm obsessed with sample perfume mini bottles. At Christmas, everyone gets me the box that has all the sample perfumes, and you can pick a larger one of your favorite sample. I have so many perfumes and colognes; people always tell me I have a problem. 😂
You really need to bring Bible Girl back to the couch. She is so thoughtful and intelligent I could listen to her all day.
I had only seen clips of Very Delta before today. Now, I'm a huge fan.
LMAO when the camera zoomed out for the first time and I saw them wearing the big red boots. I died.
I absolutely adore you Delta!!! Could listen to you for hours on end!!! ❤❤❤
I’ve been excited for every episode but this one is my most anticipated
Delta!! You are Hilarious!!! At. 13:35 you were looking around the room for something. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Delta's reaction at 52:34 melted my heart! ❤❤❤ I nearly teared up myself!
It is wonderful to see Adore sober and looking so healthy! She is such a treasure ❤
first Trixie and now BIBLEGIRL - Delta is giving us the content we deserve this pride season
I absolutely adore this convo
I totally agree on the lack of department store elegance and promotional extras ! I recall the very adult and fabulous nature of the things you described when I was growing up. Now as an adult not only can I not replicate this experience but it puts me off from shopping altogether especially since the prices are still certainly just as high..
Great Interview, it flew by!💖
So exciting
I'm ashamed to admit this video was my first experience with Biblegirl. I've heard the name many, many times, but I've never seen any content. I have to say now, I find her to be highly articulate, intelligent, and engaging. She comes across as very authentic and disarming. I now want to seek out more Biblegirl content!
That's the Biblegirl experience
we really need very delta merch
Can I just say I love the intro song 👀
I just started my parfum journey and so far have only bought online. FFS even Armani is having a Buy 1 Get 1 sale for Father's Day. I'm finally getting Armani Si! 💖✨
Yey!!!!! Biblegirl realnesss
its like she's really there.
😭😭😭
so here i am listening to delta going off and i could totally see a book with a collection of all of her go offs like a fancy collection of essays lmao
OMG, waiting on this episode is driving me NUTS! I'm so excited!
The BEST Go Off and an amazing guest obsessed with Britney. LOVED IT!!❤❤❤
I love the 25 minute story about how you got a plastic bag.
ART
This episode was the coolest and sweetest! Could’ve been 3 hours long and I would’ve been SO HAPPY
The year round Christmas tree idea gives me anxiety. Lmao
i genuinely went awwwww when she opened her gift and it was so thoughtful. I have always loved Biblegirl and Delta and hope more great things for them both.❤❤
This if my favorite Delta rant of all time. . . because it's so real!!!
This was a pride day treat
last mother’s day i got free gift pack of moisturiser and lip balm for my mother with a purchase of some nice slippers. was amazing i lovvvveee gift packs around holidays. life savers.
Oh my god, I remember JOOP! I would always get it as an aftershave for christmas.
Honestly, the only times I’ve ever had a shopping experience in the way Delta is describing has been in department stores in the Midwest, specifically in the Chicagoland area and Minnesota. I worked retail for years and was sent by the company to open new stores all over the Midwest before I moved to the west coast. The best customer service I’ve had has always been in the Midwest. I feel like the culture around shopping in the Midwest is still at least bit more centered around the experience. I remember being in a department store in Chicagoland in the fragrance department like 6 years ago and the employees were so nice and willing and ready to give me any samples I wanted on luxury fragrances and wanted to talk to me about what I was looking for. I never experienced that after I moved to the west coast. I think that some areas of the Midwest still value the customer experience a lot and it’s part of the training process for associates still to learn to give that experience.
Yes! It is totally a Midwest experience.
This platform should never change. Its woo
I think as the rise of consumerism and how it’s changed over the years, the less personal things have become. Items used to be made and bought to last, and with those items comes a pleasant experience to attach with these items. People used to attend to customers as if they were a friend. As money grew in value and commercialism because commonplace there was no need to attach personal customer service to retail, because people were going to buy these things anyway. There is an extreme surplus of goods which takes away the sentiment, and the products sell themselves, leaving the retail worker there as like a middle ground between the customer and profit. That’s why working in retail is hell now.
I could be just spitballing here but that’s how I see it 🤷🏾♂️
The open monologue was just amazing
🔸🔶🔸 interesting conversation as always! We love to see it-
BIBLE GIRL IS GOING TO WIN ANOTHER SEASON OF ALL STARS 😭🥰 TELL IT !
Something tells me the Lancôme gift with purchase in particular is Very Delta
Love the Show Delta.
🔶Delta- You have such a great vibe with EVERYONE! It is so incredibly endearing. You credit your guests with all these wonderful idiosyncrasies, when you yourself possess the same positive and welcoming energy! You complimented Bible Girl on her ability to make people comfortable almost immediately. You are fantastic at that as well. Here's to your success! You deserve it, you brilliant, beautiful Queen 👑
The Clinique 3 peice skincare kit was my first foray into skincare at 15 ish 🥰
Delta work needs her own daytime TV show
Yes and we need her in the audience fielding questions for the panel.
I would love to see Adore Delano on Very Delta!! 🖤
As someone like you who worked retail before the panorama and after, I have to say the quality of EVERYTHING has gone down. It’s awful that they won’t even pay to train people anymore. Your “go off Delta” is so spot on because brands have cheapened out on their items and no one cares to read the information given to them anymore, too. Since people still shop it, no one is incentivized to push for better.
I need Delta to have a book club with all the books she has on the desk!
Best guest ever!!!!
I’m late but I’m here and I love this show 🔶🔶🔶🔸🔸🔸
very excited for this ep!! if there's one thing miss biblegirl knows how to do, it's give a good interview. can't wait to watch her tell it
I think it'll be nice to have a podcast episode with a perfumer by now. I think that'll be such an informative pod episode
Deltaaa this millinery piece is giving me everything!!
Delta’s elegance rant is what Gia’s glamour rant wanted to be
Go off Delta! I swear the level of salesman ship, hospitality, genuine engagement, interest and service has dropped. Its rare to find next level anticipatory service. Employees are truly checked out at all levels. People dont smile, they dont welcome you into stores, they make you feel like youre an inconvenience. Im not sure if tipping them $5 or $20 to get them to perk up but something is clearly missing.
Eye opening, educational, insightful as always
Wow. I didn’t realize the target thing went all the way to take down the stuff they worked w u to sell?? Like damn gina okay. So glad I got my bible girl shirt the second it dropped 🔥💕
One of the best winners to come out of drag race tbh. Made a career for herself
I loooove your energies together, this was so cute!
I never miss an episode
Media illiteracy! Yes!! It's something that so so few people understand is a big issue right now.
Customer service is a thing of the past. I no longer expect it so I'm no longer disappointed. That's just the way it is.
DELTA is a living angel
it would be my honor to upsell to you Delta 💐
I had the opposite experience at Neiman's recently. Too much upsell! After my purchase he introduced me to another salesperson to sell me fragrances I had no interest in. Took 5 minutes to worm my way out of that one after being sprayed twice.
I love this woman with my whole heart.
Delta yes! The loss of elegance! It's so real and also part what makes working in retail horrendous now. All the company cares about is profits
I’m learning so much! 😲😄🙌
Got my Kennedy tee from Target 💖💖
Great episode! Nice to meet you, Bible girl :)
Very timely guest! Speak on the corporatization of gay joy!!
Edit: the booooooots 😂
The Go off this episode is so true. If you have a Von Maur, Ours anyways is still just that. Personal shopper, tailoring, Always a dress bag for slacks, coats and dresses, gift wrap, piano player, will call other stores and honor prices andrefunds. Every holiday the perfume gift boxes and make up gift with purchase.
A gift with purchase is SO Delta!!!!!
Biblegirl has a new fan! ❤
