Inuyasha so special for me because it's build well-character instead just focusing in increasing of power. Seshoumaru is the strongest character in Inuyasha's era but his lack of empathy was his biggest weakness. I'm so satisfied by his development later in the Final Act.

No kikyo could have as well plus inuyasha was the one who destroyed narakus body before kagome purified him sesshomaru destroyed his body from the inside but inuyasha destroyed his giant spider body and naraku finally died after kagome made the wish
This rivalry was always the most interesting to me. Sesshomaru, who is an anti-hero in the show and arguably able of kill Naraku on his own, really had no issue with Naraku's evil actions until Naraku made himself an issue.
Never before in any series has the deuteragonist been the most powerful character throughout the entire series. Now THIS is how you write a character. Make him the most dangerous character in the show. So dangerous the main villain is severely challenged
I'm a year late to this, but the comment honestly irked me. Sesshoumaru's not a deuteragonist, that would be Kagome. If anything, at most Sesshoumaru is a rival for Inuyasha. When you make a character who's not even part of the main plot for 90% of the show, why the hell would you make them so stupidly powerful that if they wanted to (and from an in character stand point, totally would/should), they could end the entire show by outright killing the antagonist with ease? I thought that was dumb.

It occurs to me that Sesshomaru is one of the few characters in the story that has little to no interest in seizing the Shikon jewel for himself. In part this may be because he is never so overcome by his opponents that he is desperate enough to want it. He remains one of the most powerful characters in the series from beginning to end remaining more or less on par with or stronger than his brother the entire time despite losing to Inuyasha on the few occasions they do fight.
It seems like Sesshomaru wins more than he loses to Inuyasha. He lost when they were getting the Tessaiga from their father's grave, but after that it was pretty much all Sesshomaru. He would have crushed Inuyasha if it was a 1 v 1 in their next encounter, but Kagome's arrow reversed the Tessaiga. At that point, Sesshomaru stopped caring. When Totosai came, Sesshomaru was winning and didn't get a chance to fight Inuyasha in his demon form. Then Sesshomaru won easily when he did fight Inuyasha in demon form. After that, they didn't really battle much head to head so Sesshomaru has a 3 to 1 edge in my book.
Although Naraku pushed back Sesshomaru, it was with his own attack. When Sesshomaru went physical, Naraku fled, suggesting he had no means of competing with the raw power of Sesshomaru. Efficient visual story telling without the need for exposition.

After effortlessly defeating Kirinmaru in the previous Anime it's pretty much proven that Sesshomaru is the strongest Demon around

That alone separates him from both Inuyasha and his father as a far more superior Demon.
