Over two years ago, I came across this song on RUclips Music, and it quickly became one of my favorites. However, until now, I never thought to check who the author of this song was because I assumed it had at least 10+ million views. So, I randomly decided to see who the author was and if they happened to have other songs of the same quality. I was shocked when I saw that the song which I've cried to countless times and that has helped me navigate numerous obstacles in life was underrated to this extent. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for this masterpiece!

Hi. I wanna know the meaning behind your song. I got here because of Spotify and I have been looping this song for days.
For me, this is what it meant:
"Innocent where I don't convolute. Twisted up versions of the truth."
This is the two-liner that got me. The succeeding line "I wish I could free up my mind cause I am losing it", is the effect.
All the bottled up doubts, fears and anxiety that keeps repeating inside our head, afraid to open up believeing that we will be judged by the "sins" we have committed, yet unsure whether these "sins" are by definition, right or wrong. But, the subjective truth will differ and because we are able to think that there's not only one truth, then that's what makes it all the more complicated. What could have been simple turned complex and the burden we carry doubled, tripled until we no longer know we have that right, questioning our sanity, but couldn't turn to someone else since we can not trust anyone to make sense of everything going through our head, they will not be able to understand the guilt that eats us, whether justifiedly or unjustifiedly so.
And the regret comes when there's already too many actions taken from the effect and we regret, and resent our past self for not opening up, then maybe we'll be more certain, more confident with ourselves and we wouldn't be as twisted as we are.
Wow… this is quite impressive! I think you absolutely nailed the heartbeat of the song in several different areas of your analysis!
The song was born out of a season of intense wrestling with doubt/ anxiety/ guilt/ shame etc (as you had mentioned). I think the one difference from you’re description that I’ll call attention to is that truth, while often labeled as subjective, for the purpose of this song was very much grounded in a strong sense of conviction. It was that very conviction that served as a compass to honestly analyze the trajectory of straying away and realizing just how far I had fallen. Also, I’d like to mention that in the song, all of the accusations and blaming is a deeply internal and cyclical process that may have been remedied sooner if I had taken steps to let people in on where I was at.
I know that’s a big rant and probably only semi-coherent but honestly, I’m still very much unpacking the meaning of this song and what it means to me to this day!!
So appreciative for you taking the time to listen and resonate with the message. That means more to me than I’ll ever be able to describe!

It's sad that your official video isn't as supported as some of those used in Nightcore. This is a gem towards those who suffer from the same situation. I had this looped in my playlist because through this song, I felt that I could express myself. And although tragically you had to experience all those struggles to be able to produce this song, you've given the whole lot of us voice.
