    A dervish's words are wise,
It shows the light on his face,
It sheds tears from his troubled eyes,
    It flows saying Allah.
    Nightingales land in the garden,
    Offer all kinds of songs,
    Lovers' hearts burn,
    Burns saying Allah.
The one who is born, dies one day,
    The living, of course, see,
    The sun walks tirelessly,
    Walks saying Allah.
    Spring comes, melts and avalanches,
    Rain falls, clouds cry,
    Water flows in the valleys,
    Calls saying Allah.
    Wolves howl, dogs bark,
    Some die, some rot,
Some get smoke in their eyes,
    Cover them saying Allah.
Yunus, a rose blooms in your garden,
    Spreads its scent around,
A nightingale flies on a rose,
    Flies saying Allah.
    Who is Yunus Emre?
Yunus Emre, who is thought to have been born in Eskişehir in 1240, is a poet who spent his entire life in Anatolia. He is one of the Turkish poets known all over Anatolia. Many of Yunus Emre's works have survived to the present day. He is a poet loved and known by everyone.
    Yunus Emre's Life
Yunus Emre was born in 1241 and is thought to have died in 1320 or 1321. There is not much information about Yunus Emre, who was born in a period of oppression due to the collapse of the Anatolian Seljuk State and the Mongol invasion. There is also not much known about Yunus Emre's educational life.
It is known that he knew Persian and Arabic, but it is not known where he received this education. Some narrations say that Yunus Emre was illiterate and worked as a farmer with his father. Since this information cannot come from a written source today, there is no clear information about his education. It is not known exactly what the Seljuks were doing during their period of decline.
With the Mongol invasion that spread westward in 1241, many artists, mystics, Turkmens and scientists migrated to Anatolia. Yunus Emre was born in a period when oppression was widespread and he wrote poems about tolerance and inviting people to love, which has led to his successful works to this day. Yunus Emre traveled to Anatolia, Azerbaijan and Iran as a dervish. He was in many cities that were cultural centers such as Damascus, Shiraz, Tabriz, Maraş, Nakhchivan, Kayseri and Sivas.
There is no clear information about whether Yunus Emre married or not. According to a line he wrote, it is thought that he had children. In each of his works, he stated that his sheikh was Tapduk Emre. He used the name Tapduk Yunus in some of his poems. Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi also said many words of praise. According to some views, although it is said that Yunus Emre met Hacı Bektaşi Veli, there is no evidence of this. This is not mentioned in any of his poems. It is also thought that he died in 1321.
