I know another character that has this exact traits. His name is Alister Dalimar. He's a madman from the MCF series, and uses his own family as pawns. He sucks the life force out of his victims to gain immortality. He wasn't just part of a cult, but also part of a carnival attraction where he was mentioned as a master of reflections. But there was a battle and he was banished in the mirror world in a crystal ball. His first experiments were on snakes, but then changed to birds. He distorted the birds by putting a piece of his own soul into one of them. What do you think of this?
In my opinion, another adult theme in Ninjago is Lloyds birth. Think about it, he was pretty much born because of a lie. Wu wrote the letter, Garmadon wrote his name instead, therefore lying to Misako. As if Lloyd didn’t have enough trauma in his life. I’m honestly surprised his reaction was ‘Mom thought that letter was from you’ rather than something more fitting for what he had just learned.
It’s amazing how despite being Chen’s daughter, Skylor still remains a good person. She’s just so loyal and compassionate. I honestly love her for being so friendly despite who her family is. What a queen 🧡
Another thing that's not brought up is how Chen even managed to have a daughter with an Elemental Master in the first place. It's very possible that Chen either manipulated or coerced Skylor's mom to have a daughter with him and only got with her so he could have a powerful elemental master as a daughter. Granted it's very possible that Chen just had a normal relationship with Skylor's mom (perhaps she was evil too) but Chen's entire vibe is just so twisted and power hungry that I can't discount the possibility that their relationship was much more nefarious. We even see Chen tell Garmadon to lie to Misako so he could be with her. If Chen easily gave out such advice, it's very possible he did the same or worse to Skylor's mom. And Chen's entire vibe reminds me of feudal Japan, a time when people didn't always get into relationships because of love, they got into relationships for political or power related reasons. Those relationships weren't always marriages either, sometimes they were forced marriages, sometimes they were sham marriages, and some were relationships between masters and slaves. Ninjago would never explicitly confirm something so adult, but there have always been adult undertones in the show so I wouldn't put it past Chen given his vibe, personality, and historical inspiration.

"This suggests the *recipe* might be Serpentine in *origin* " I don't think that is saying that the noodles are made of Serpentine, but rather the recipe for the noodles is a Serpentine recipe. There's probably some questionable ingredients in there, but not snake.
I think the noodles didn't use snake meat, maybe snake bone broth, but I think the recipe was just stolen from the anacondrai and sold by Chen. I feel like you're reading into it wrong. "serpentine origin" means it originated from the serpentine not that the recipe includes serpentine. I don't think there was any flesh left to sell with all the cannibalism that went down before the tombs were open. I'd imagine Pythor would pick their bones clean.
I mean, Ninjago (and lots of other kids cartoons) often to have more mature undertones that will go over the kids' heads but older viewers will pick up on. Plus there is also a bit of suspension of disbelief which allows cartoon to tailed darker issues without it actually feeling darker. For example, the Looney Toons often feature animal violence but it's cartoony so we don't associate it with real animal violence at all, we associate it with comedy. The same is true with Ninjago and other cartoons. When they strongly imply that Pythor eat the other members of his tribe we don't think of it as cannibalism and all the moral horrors that that entails, we treat it as less serious since this is a cartoon Lego snake. The same is true for these Jade blades. The idea of robbing tombs to creates weapons is more sanitized in a cartoon whereas in real life we would all be way more appalled. (Also, this entire topic is dubiously canon since it was never shown in the show that the blades originated from Serpentine bones, the only source is a paragraph of website text.)
Like the fact that the dragon hunters have killed tons of dragons?? How about the fact that there was probably no remains to harumi because she was crushed by all the rubble of the collapsing building. Or the fact that Garmadon killed an old lady??
Adding onto the last one, I have a headcanon that Mystake was actually Garmadon and Wu’s mother (which would make it all the more messed up, honestly). When Mystake journeyed to Ninjago to destroy the FSM but instead fell in love with his creation, after the banishment of the Oni Mystake and FSM would’ve really been the only people around with a reasonable knowledge of each other and the potential for a relationship. That would make more sense about why Wu and Garmadon are half Oni. It would also mean Garmadon killed his mother.
@@gabrxael I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that, I would have been such a twist if mystake was actually Lloyd's grandmother. But then it would have also brought up the question if she was why didn't she take Lloyd in when he was abandoned? It raises a whole bunch of questions.

4:19 I don't believe he's fully evil by heart, as said in one of the episodes, he was told he would be worth nothing in live and be useless for not having power- stuff like that led to him wanting to prove them wrong. So in a way I can relate to Chen. and I honestly love how insane he is now and love how childish he is😋😋 this might sound crazy, but I think Chen is adorable
There is a huge possibility that the purple snake on Chen's hat is the skin of a poor Anacondrai warrior. Chen is definitely one of, if not the most evil villain in the show.
Chen is like a child, he thinks the world revolves around him, he thinks he is the best, he is kind of entitled, he has a child's temper. Who are we kidding, he is literally a three year old in a adults body- why does he have a child?! Also, has anyone else wondered what is the red stuff on his eyes? I want to find it out, and I dont want to find out.
Maybe he used magic to have a child with the former Master of Amber. Clouse is known as the magic-man of Chen's crew, but we also know that anyone can read that Magic Book: guards, Chen himself, Lloyd... Maybe Chen messed up with that book so many times that his eyes show there are some spells still running inside him.
My first thought was: How is Clouse fitting into this? He's loyal to Chen, but also to "his" serpent. Yes, I'm talking of this giant, purple Snake into Chens Basement who is eating people. Yes, he puts his needs under Chens, but as soon as he were able to, he left him to die. And despite to Chen, he's not wearing a giant hat or something of dead snakes. He also changed the scales he was wearing as a belt in young years to fabric. After he left Chen he wasn't really able to change his clothes. So I'm asking myself if he is really an cultist or just very loyal to Chen.
If the noodles are serpentine in origin, it's probably a recipe from the anacondrai or another serpentine group. That or he uses a secret cloning facility to produce serpentine eggs for use in egg noodles. Also, the armour worn by his cultists may also be made from serpentine as well.
My favorite thing about Ninjago is that it pushes the limits. There’s so much messed up stuff, and it allows for so much freedom and room for the imagination. I’ve watched so many kids shows and none of them get even close to the level of ‘messed up’ that Ninjago is on. I love Master Chen. He was well crafted. When you think about it, Wu and the original Elemental Masters locked up the Serpentine in their respective tombs with no food or water. If Lloyd hadn't released them, the Serpentine would've went extinct. So technically Wu, Mystake, Garmadon, and the original Elemental Masters committed genocide upon the Serpentine.
there may be another disturbing/ dark fact about ninjago, lloyd may actually be wu's son, as seen at the end of episode 8 of season 2 (the day ninjago stood still) theres a scene of the photo of garmadon, misako and wu when they were younger, and both misako and garmadon have brown hair while wu has blonde hair and so does lloyd and young wu and lloyd have the same eyebrows and face in general
Did he coat them in Jade or do Serpentine have Jade-like bone structure? How did he get into the tomb with Pythor there, unless there were other, more sacred, tombs for the Serpentine? Now I'm even more happy Skylor took over. Also, he was probably only "with" Skylor's mother because of her power and planned on using her, and then their daughter, to get what he wanted. So yeah, terrible human and deserves whatever heck he's in now.
True I’ve never forgotten what a strange amount of people have about how pythor ate the rest of his kind to survive and another thing the story of Morro he was told he could become the green ninja and hi ally gained purpose but it was ripped away from him so he lost his mind and trying to truly find purpose he died and the Preeminent gave him purpose again and the very thing he called master killed him
Maybe some wax and decorative stuff was used to achieve this look or something else to harder them up and in the end - making them look greenish, thus jade-like
Honestly for me he was one of the most psychotic villains to ever appear in Ninjago And I always did kinda want more seasons featuring him as the main villain or just a side character 😅
So it seems like master chen has become a war criminal putting dead snakes in his noodles is just so sick 🤢 and crazy 😧🤣 master chen is officially a phychopath.
He didn't worship the Anacondrai though may seem very likely, its untrue. He didn't worship the race, he worshipped both their power and original motives such as "Only one can remain" As it fits with his morals.
I believe that master Chen isn't actually skylors farther. I believe that Chen may have kidnapped skylor and her mother from skyline actual farther. Chen would of then used a memory changing potion of some kind so skyline and her mother thought Chen was her farther and her mothers husband and not her actual farther.
About the worshiping/raiding topic, it is not that strange, he might very well have thought that such glorious artifacts deserved better than to just lie hidden in a dark tomb somewhere.
Maybe the red stuff on Chen's eyes are the blood of Anacondrai, or his worshipers, or enemies..., also, there is a chance that he did a lot of gory anacodrai rituals as well, don't forget, he's still a cultist...
im50% sure that Chen is a pscyco or sociopath dude cared more about power than his own flesh and blood even when the though of her dying was possible ( Skylor saying hurt her or worse tomme = death)bet father ever note

Ok if we're talking super dark themes, can we just about how Lloyd was homeless for a good part of his childhood? Misako dumped his ass at Darkley's and when they kicked him out it's not like Wu or Misako went looking for him. Where did Lloyd stay? Where did he sleep? He literally went to Ninjago's equivalent of hell, and then drowned. According to the Tommy Andreasen, the cursed realm still exists within the departed realm and all the cursed souls are still trapped there. I'd say Chen got one of the worst fates out of all the villains. At least most of them got quick deaths, but Chen is trapped in the cursed realm for the rest of eternity. He definitely deserved it though after all the lives he's ruined and the people he's indirectly killed.

I'll never look at Ninjago the same way, ever. He is a sick, sick man. Even the Overlord wouldn't be so vile as to harvest Serpentine flesh and bones.
Agreed
0:59 that’s the worst one.
I thought that the Jade blades were made out of... well jade. They certainly don't look like bone.
Maybe some wax and decorative stuff was used to achieve this look or something else to harder them up and in the end - making them look greenish, thus jade-like
Master Chen reminds me of the Joker, and Ultra Violet reminds me of Harley Quinn!
We need a Master Chen Noodles Shop in real life id work there lol 😂
We're gonna needa a lot of snakes...
@@TheguyInYourFridge 🤣🤣🤣 im dying harder then harumi when that building fell on her
There is one, its in Austin, Texas
@@TheguyInYourFridge lol.....
My money is that Chen killed and kidnapped Skylor as a baby
I felt it weird that Chen forced Pythor- A REAL ANACONDRAI- into running on a hamster wheel.
Chen doesn't need power,
he needs a therapist.
Poor guy.
Honestly for me he was one of the most psychotic villains to ever appear in Ninjago
And I always did kinda want more seasons featuring him as the main villain or just a side character 😅
My favourite character is harumi, because of how much mental pain she caused Lloyd.
Yeah it wasn’t until I watch this video that I realized he’s wearing an anacondrai on his head
Jade blades?
you sure it's not the anacondrai blades? Those look more like bones than jade
You know I think it was a bad idea to eat ramen noddles while watching this video
What if Chen just lied and kidnapped skylor from birth
Huh, I now feel slightly disturbed. Ninjago is awesome!
Now the question is, who was Skylor’s mom?
You can also add racism in season 13
And slavery (if he didn’t mention that)
The decorations on Iron Baron's chair are from Ultra. That's why he hasn't been seen after season 2.
I wonder what made Skylors Mother fall for him lol 😆 maybe she had a thing for bad boys
Oh boy 😅😂
probably forced..
@@xavi_ That’s what I was thinking ngl
@@xavi_ agreed
He is very manipulative
I believe that master Chen isn't actually skylors farther. I believe that Chen may have kidnapped skylor and her mother from skyline actual farther. Chen would of then used a memory changing potion of some kind so skyline and her mother thought Chen was her farther and her mothers husband and not her actual farther.
About the worshiping/raiding topic, it is not that strange, he might very well have thought that such glorious artifacts deserved better than to just lie hidden in a dark tomb somewhere.
NO JUST NO... NO SNAKE NOODLES
Oh I thought this was going to involve Chen s*xually abusing skylor. That thumbnail got me.
What if he did that to her or her mother…im traumatised now
nah what if he actually do that
I dont think its disturbing...
Considering who ate most of them 🤣
As crazy as Garmadon is sometimes, Chen is absolutely nutty.
Why would he do that so typical
Maybe the red stuff on Chen's eyes are the blood of Anacondrai, or his worshipers, or enemies..., also, there is a chance that he did a lot of gory anacodrai rituals as well, don't forget, he's still a cultist...
l just feel bad for Cole because he LOVED Chen noodles
Dude master chen has a dead snake around his neck 😨
Looking at master chen now he looks a drunk alcoholic
im50% sure that Chen is a pscyco or sociopath dude cared more about power than his own flesh and blood even when the though of her dying was possible ( Skylor saying hurt her or worse tomme = death)bet father ever note
I think master chen might be one of my favorite villains.
In season 5, while the ninja are in ronin's shop, he tries to sell them jade blades. If jade blades are anacondrai bones, how did ronin get them?
Because he got them from chens island
We saw some jade blades at the ronins place
It's not a kids show
You're right, Ninjago is not for children at all, anyone who says that is out of business 🙄😒
Cannibalism grave robbery murder alcoholism that one scene between nya and nadakhan you know for kids
CHEN is really crazy?shivering
You know I never took that “Smoke” and thought it like that
Wait is that why the took the food of the menu, that Derith wanted back??😰gross
Can someone explain to me how in episode 9, season 6, minutes 18-19, turner (master of speed) is stuck in the djinn enchantment?
master chen is one of if not my favorite villain in the series. he doesn't try to sugarcoat his actions or defend them with morals or motives. Hes a crazy bastard, who knows hes a crazy bastard, and acts like a crazy bastard just because he wants to.
So that can sorta explain why chen is so sick/crazy 😧🤣.
What does this have to do with Skylor? Personally myself, I feel like something is off with Chen and Skylor
in your list of bad thing ninjago got away with you forgot slavery and human trafficking
Asking Tannerfishies to make a video about the oldest ninjago videos on youtube: Day 16
Can someone please tell me how chen knew that paythor was the last andracondrai
And I know I spelled it wrong
I dont know
Rip ultra dragon
4:26 you know who the JOKER is i thought you were a marel fan
Everyone knows about the joker like how everyone knows about spiderman or superman or batman
Ok if we're talking super dark themes, can we just about how Lloyd was homeless for a good part of his childhood? Misako dumped his ass at Darkley's and when they kicked him out it's not like Wu or Misako went looking for him. Where did Lloyd stay? Where did he sleep? Who would even take him in because at that point he was being a brat to impress his father? It's only when they catch Lloyd with Pythor and take him in did he actually have a place to call home. Just something else to add to Lloyd's never-ending trauma.
then again WHAT CHOICE DID MISAKO HAVE???
@@KittyMcFlame Oh I don't know, how about RAISING HER SON???
@@Hypershadic23 JESUS CHRIST, THAT IS THE DAMN THING, SHE COULD NOT MAKE FOR HER OWN SON, LLOYD WAS TOO YOUNG TO KNOW ABOUT THE FINALE BATTLE AT THE TIME, AND MISAKO WANTED TO TRY TO PREVENT THE FINALE BATTLE FROM HAPPENING leaving LLoyd was hard for misako but faced with saving Lloyd and the world SHE, HAD. NO. OTHER. CHOICE
@@KittyMcFlame WHY DID SHE HAVE TO LEAVE HIM AT DARKLEY'S AND NEVER CHECK UP ON HIM? WHY DID HER RESEARCH MEAN SHE COULD NEVER COME SEE HIM OR RAISE HIM? EVEN IF SHE HAD TO LEAVE THAT WAS AN IRRESPONSIBLE DECISION TO LEAVE HIM AT A SCHOOL FOR "BAD BOYS" ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY KICKED HIS ASS OUT. SHE WAS SO CONCERNED ABOUT "THE FINAL BATTLE" THAT SHE NEGLECTED HER OWN SON WHO SHE KNEW WAS THE GREEN NINJA.
@@Hypershadic23 she did it out of care plus she probably did not have enough time to drop him off somewhere decent, she had to be quick, why can you not understand that?
Wow Cool vid 💜🐍
Sudoku love it
Tanner they meamt that it's a Serpentine recipe, not made of serpentine remains
i mean...eventually the serpetine leftovers would ran out and since skyler stopped with the underground activities of her dad i think he might have stolen the recipe from a tomb or made his own since,he certainly had a lot of time in his hands after being banished
When u mentioned ritual it kinda scared me, seeing sons of Garmadon resurrect lord Garmadon back as the devil of S9 and ngl it kinda scared me on that episode when Harumi wanted to resurrect emperor Garmadon.
Yo I am very confused 🤔💭 how I didn't notice none of this stuff this is just dark.
Please post a Ninja song
When you really think about, Chen got one of the better ends. Most of the others either got blown up, eaten, or crushed. Hell the guy from Hunted got tombed in molten lava
@GigaWarrior3 that's true, I think what I meant was that his death was a lot less physically painful than some of the others, tho I don't really remember writing that comment, so
not sure
Tho, as you said, he drowned, so idk
Does anybody know where I could watch the day of departed? Back in the day I was able to find it on RUclips along with the rest of NinjaGo (up to s8), but now it's obviously gone. Currently I'm re-watching NinjaGo on Netflix, but as you know this special is missing. I'll be thankful for help
