For Blood Elves, I like to tie in the loss of their loved ones from the scourge for the power to protect their people if you want to go a more morally grey route. A "The ends justify the means" character.
I role play my Warlock as a pathetic mewling coward who will inflate his own ego and then grovel and cry whenever anyone more impressive (either magically or physically) confronts him. The small amount of power he has wormed himself by begging at the feet of stronger individuals contributes to a weak but unmasked aura, and since he is too stupid to understand the concept of a "sanction" (RP code for 'but I want to be edgy and it to be legal!') he has been run out of town and only not hunted down because no-one can actually be bothered to. He, after a particularly stupid blunder, was going to be tortured by his masters but they forgot about him. He managed to escape his prison when the tower was attacked by orcs, and roamed around, eventually throwing his lot in with another grimdark-ooer guild. The point of this little wall of text is that characters can be weak and useless and still be great fun to play on! I mostly play him for comedy as all of my emotes are making fun of him. So, yeah. Your character doesn't have to be some kind of ultra-powerful master, which is sadly what I see in many people's characters. That moment when you realise no-one is going to read this.
I love these videos, especially the class ones. I am hoping to see ones for my favorite classes warriors, rogues, and hunters but I know it will be difficult because for each race it is different.
An Odd idea that's came to me since playing in Shadowlands: A Affliction Warlock could in theory be a "Virologist Mage" someone who studies Viral magics and Diseases. Pulling and playing with "Blood" as a Medium. (Venthyr Covenant for the look of it). Meh, just a thought...
I like these videos, keep it up, but on a small note; Some warlocks can be allied with the legion, well not truly in the ranks of them but cultists ofc that wants to bring them to Azeroth once again, but as i said, great vids :D
interesting that you say Warlocks are tolerated and mistrusted, yet in the novels they are not always treated this way. For instance in War Crimes, the king uses them as his key strategy to defend the White Tiger's temple and even smiles at one of the female warlocks that summons her little hound demon pet. Not really saying her trusts them, but he obviously doesn't have a problem making them the center of his battle plan to repel the attack. Still, great over view video, very insightful.
Nice vid I recently started playing wow a month and a half ago my main is a belf warlock on tichondrias I have recently been binge watching your vids and enjoy them a lot although I don't rp I still like to make back stories for my charectures and your vids have been really insightful
How can the warlock have such a role, and yet be asked by all those questgivers, and even called HERO so often?? btw i have now watched quite a few of your videos, and i want to thank you your videos are a huge help in getting into RP. And you are generally pretty good at making them, some times you seem to involve a little too much emotion for my taste but your good :) Keep up the good work i will support you
+Jon (A Questioneer) Well, like I said- even Warlocks can be somewhat good, even heroic! But even the most devoted hero must be cautious around fel power. And THANK YOU!!!
I thought about this too especially after Warlords where you are trusted and followed by minions, major NPCs, and even the King/Warchief making you Commander and General of the armies in Draenor.
@@TheAsylumchild To be honest though the break between gameplay mechanics(Aka npc guards ignoring demon summoning inside Stormwind or quest givers calling you General or Hero etc are mostly taken as not 'IC' kinda things.
Absolutely love this series. One question though. Would it technically be possible for a warlock to gain immortality (meaning not dying of old age) via some ritual or pact with a demon?
I don't see why not, though likely you would transition from warlock to Demon Hunter at that point- given that (canonwise) that generally requires a merging of souls- the body of a mortal with the combined mortal-demon soul, like the Illidari do. Could be an interesting way to have non-elf DHs in RP. I would think you'd keep a lot of your previous abilities, too, so you could pull it off as a warlock, as well!
Gnomes accept warlocks. Gnomish society doesn't care what you do with your life. Only that you try as hard as you can to be the best at whatever you choose to do.
Now I’m curious... if you say that Warlocks are not to be trusted, do you know any methods to make my warlock more inconspicuous so that he/she can be ignored?
ok one question, demon summoning in populated areas are forbidden, but how about the mounts of warlocks? are they acceptable for summoning? as they consider and they are basically from the demon realm and the favorite mount of the dreadlords
+Nikos Fender You know, that is a good question. I don't see them (the demon horses) in cities very often because a lot of people try to mount match (match their mount to their transmog.) That being said, I would probably say no demon horses in cities because you are right-they are, in fact, demons called Xoroth (or Xorothian Dreadsteeds.)
+Inquisitor Aura thank you very much for the answer! I wanted to ask one more thing, I wanted to start a new character but I have really hard time to choose, I tried forsaken but to dark for me, I wanted b-elf paladin but it's really hard to rp as a blood knight-paladin, do you think a b-elf ranger or troll druid will be easier? my last option is tauren druid, btw keep up the good work, big fun since almost the beginning!
+Nikos Fender Honestly, what you choose to RP is up to you! I've done druids and rangers and all kinds of things, but I cannot give you a definitive answer as what to RP as because everyone likes different things! Go do some research and see what you like the most, what resonates with you (as a person and player), and do that!
I played a Orc who was ancient enough to belong to the Stormreavers (anyone who says 'They all died!' No, MOST of them died, we see several who survived. Over the course of the game, one in Outlands and one on the Broken Shore, as such, surviving Stormreavers still exist) and eve further back, part of the Old Horde. I say he is that old because he siphons the life essence of others to sustain himself.
Can Warlocks be born with an affinity or ability to use dark fel-based magic, or is this all trained by a teacher? Can Warlocks somehow get spells by being exposed to fel magic or feliron?
can you as a warlock make a kind of bloodpact with another player to get him not to tell people about you begin a warlcok? would that be lore friendly?
+Stidif If you and he talked about it and decided that was what you wanted to do, then sure, why not? But remember- no god-moding. If s/he (OOC) does not agree to it, then it cannot happen. RP works best when all parties agree with whatever action is to be taken.
Warlocks befor the first war can only be Orcs. not compleatly true, as you said yourself earlier, Bloodelfs could have learned Fel Magic from befor the sundering from the Eradar (as they in reallity exile Highborn, and both Highborn and Highelfs has the same name: Quel'Dorei, and the Blood elfs (Sin'Dorei) in reallitu is a "political" aspect of the same elven bloodline). Meening that Blodelfs could possibly have learned this way befor the first war.
Inquisitor Aura not saying I am,opposed to warlock or their practices just saying when the title warlock itself means oath-breaker we can understand why such characters never seem to be trusted
I wonder, what would be a "introduction" to become a warlock. I mean how would a young character come in contact with del and learn to use it. I consider having a warlock but I am a bit confused on how she would have begun her path.
I would assume a young and impressionable person would see the destruction brought on by the legion, and would simply think "That's how you get powerful."

To my knowledge Drek'Thul is the sole surviving apprentice of Gul'Dan and is still living as a hermit on the Broken Isles.
Nice profile picture ;)

That's hilarious

Watching this video should be mandatory for people who want to RP warlocks!
i like this type more then the race guides.

Meh, just a thought...
I just realized this arcane is the light side of spell casters and fel is the dark side of spell casters
That's a mind blowing revelation, isn't it?
No not true necromancy is an arcane magic
Ethan Laun not according to the cosmology of the universe WoW is in. Necromancy is the opposite of Life and a sphere of magic all of its own.
Oh when a watched a lore Video it said it was a school of arcane magic geuss I was wrong
Necromancy is also associated with Fel anyway given that the Nathrezim are responsible for it existing as we know it in Azeroth.
I'd say my warlock is like a police officer who tells everyone not to use drugs, and even knowing everything about them, he still uses it.
wow... I'm impressed by the personality of the warlocks... inquisitor keep doing more vids about the other classes plz =) see u...
My warlock is an Undead who remembers nothing about her life, and encountered a powerful demon who offered the power to reclaim her past. Bam.
I like these videos, keep it up, but on a small note; Some warlocks can be allied with the legion, well not truly in the ranks of them but cultists ofc that wants to bring them to Azeroth once again, but as i said, great vids :D
+The Jiff Let's plays True, but if I mentioned that here, then I couldn't do an Advanced RP video on it later!!! =D
Inquisitor Aura Ah! Alright :)

Absolutely! They serve a purpose. Most people mistrust them, but there are some out there (Varian amongst them) who can utilize them tactically.
+Inquisitor Aura one more reason why I am so sad about what is going to happen to the king ...
Nice vid I recently started playing wow a month and a half ago my main is a belf warlock on tichondrias I have recently been binge watching your vids and enjoy them a lot although I don't rp I still like to make back stories for my charectures and your vids have been really insightful
Can you do a race/class guide for an Orc Warlock?
+Irken45 sure can!
My very first class in wow was a shaman.. For 2 weeks. Then I found out about warlocks. I never looked back when I rolled my warlock. in 2008.
How can the warlock have such a role, and yet be asked by all those questgivers, and even called HERO so often??

Inquisitor Aura Your very welcome, i think if you get down being precise and concise you could really become popular.
Would you be willing to do a shadow mage rp concept video? I love your videos and they really helped me get into rp. keep up the great work :D
Hey, do you think you'd have the time to do a rp race/class guide on Blood Elf Warlocks?
I will have the time, but I generally do whatever I am inspired to do at the time. This is definitely on my list, though!
Inquisitor Aura Okie doke! Have a good one! :)
i liked this vídeo because it reminded me of th sith fron star Wars lol, great video
LOL right? That's perfect, they totally are!
I really had the idea of necromancy when I started my warlock in Vanilla...
Sweet video!

would a worgen necromancer be a contradiction?
No, it would be AWESOME.
Inquisitor Aura cool! i may finally have a purpose for my warlock now! thanks aura
as an undead warlock I am quite respected

I think for Forsaken warlocks varimathras was also one of the possible "teachers".
I was thinking about tell everyone i am "just a mage." do you think it is possible?
In need of Gnome Lore
+Eiffion Boykins Gnomes?! I can do gnomes!!!
Can Warlocks be born with an affinity or ability to use dark fel-based magic, or is this all trained by a teacher? Can Warlocks somehow get spells by being exposed to fel magic or feliron?
So you claim dreanei were the first warlock but they werent the first mages? Inconsistent between your own videos.
well my warlock is completely batshit insane and considers demons his friend and not big on discretion too coocoo for that
can you as a warlock make a kind of bloodpact with another player to get him not to tell people about you begin a warlcok?

seems like in a way warlocks are kinda like the sith from star wars
the word warlock means oath breaker, why would you trust those named such
No one says trust them. But you can't deny their power and knowledge.
Inquisitor Aura not saying I am,opposed to warlock or their practices just saying when the title warlock itself means oath-breaker we can understand why such characters never seem to be trusted

False my child.
Do you think you could do a Troll Warlock? Always wondered how theyd fit in.
