Would definitely be interested in one of these, out of my price range at the moment, love the exhaust sound and the engine note, the adaptive cruise control is a bonus also, its a shame the manual st hasnt got it,its good that ford offer the st in automatic as there are some people who cant drive a manual but would love an st,now they can have one

Yes very good point it does encourage a new audience to get to experience the Puma ST 👍

Fantastic looking machine. But isn’t it such a shame we are witnessing the dilution of the “hot hatch”. Not just Ford, but everywhere. On summary though, I agree with you that it’s a good thing Ford are still trying to cater for this market, albeit slightly diluted. Good vid 👍

I agree it's certainly a dilution from what we know about hot hatches but I am happy, particularly being a big fast Ford fan, that Ford are still making cars like this. Perhaps they will revitalise it a bit more in the future but very hard to tell given all the confusion with regulations in the UK (I.e fully electric now 2035) 🤔

Surprised it’s still got a manual hand brake

They shouldve just used the 1.5 200hp engine from the manual version in the auto version. Abit weird of ford

    • @SamAustin

That would have been a nice addition for sure if Ford had done this 👍

Probably to do with fleet emissions yet your German equivalent can still churn out 3.0 petrols/diesels 🤔.. Doesn’t add up really

Would you take this over the polo gti?

    • @SamAustin
      @SamAustin  21 день назад +1

I like the looks of the new Polo GTI. They are slightly different cars with the Puma being more of a cross over. I would take the Polo GTI personally between the two 👍

Love your enthusiasm. Clearly the car has some urgency and that alone would make it more enjoyable than a 125PS version …. and after all it is not a heavy car. The direction is clearly away from versions like the ST. For me at least, cars like the Fiesta ST and the Hyundai I20N have been a sweet spot in terms of usable performance and price. All a bit sad really.

Thanks! Yeah it's kind of like a ST-Line plus engine with full on ST looks/suspension interior which is quite a nice combo. It didn't feel slow but no doubt the 1.5 is more of the purists ST in my mind with a manual gearbox too 👍

I also have this one ruclips.net/video/UnuQzA1Zghg/видео.htmlsi=xAOBat5s4aJtz9yU. I will try to speak to Ford to see if I can have any more time with the car to share further content. I do have a video to come on the channel from a film with a subscriber yesterday with his 2023 1.5 Puma ST which I am looking forward to sharing 👍

@SamAustin OK thanks be cool if you could get the auto for longer and maybe get both the auto and manual together that would be awesome

What an embarrassment for Ford that this over bloated 1litre is now considered a performance hatch

To be honest, cars have been dumbed down these days. 1.0 engine is like the equivalent of a 2.0L

Pretty sure they'd not be releasing engines with issues if they still had them!

I have a 1.0 litre 155 bhp puma. Superb engine and sounds fantastic. I'm sorry, whoever says to avoid really doesn't know what they are talking about. Its brilliant!!

I have had a 1.0 fiesta 100bhp for almost 5 years, its been absolutely 1000%reliable,I would love a puma but just cant afford one,

My wife had a 13 plate fiesta with the 1.0 100 bhp for 10 years. Not one issue from it! Not saying "ecoboom" doesn't exist but don't just read the horror stories. She's now got the 1.0 mhev fiesta and I've got the MK4.5 ST. Both ecoboom engines but no explosion yet.
