a midrange 1070 card from 2016 can max out and effortlessly run a not too demanding racing title from 2021 at 1440p 5 years later. i'm thinking a 3070 released in 2020 will be good till 2025, but since most people could buy it only 2022 onward and game devs know this, maybe even till 2027.
The 3070 will definitely last that long if you're willing to turn down settings but it wont even max out demanding games at 1440p right now. That 8GB VRAM also won't do it any favors in terms of longevity. Cyberpunk drops to 50fps in the inner city on 1440p/ultra and thats with RT off. With RT on we're talking drops to under 30fps. 1440p high without RT gives a locked 60 in all situations. Hogwarts Legacy cant get a locked 60 without RT, can fall to 25 with RT ultra and can't even get close to 60 with DLSS Ultra Performance with RT on. All in all the 3070 is a nice card, but I feel for the people that bought it for 1k and more during the shortage. My old 1080 from 2016(!!!) had 8GB, that was lasting a while until I upgraded a month ago to a 4080.
@@bobbyb6053 i now have an rtx 3070 and get 45-50 fps with rtx on dlss quality at 1440p in night city. but currently i am playing at 4k on my 3070 and get 50+ fps dlss quality without ray tracing and the only other change being volumetric fog and clouds set to medium
@@ImperialDiecast Between RTX 2060 6GB, RTX 2060 12GB and RTX 2060 Super 8GB the best one is RTX 2060S. 3060Ti is way better than any of 2060s but he is going to buy an older RTX 20 series card I think
