@PhantomShadow Usually the protagonist 'technically' doesn't kill anybody but.. let's be real, that's like Arkham Batman smashing a non-superhuman dude in the neck with a car door and "not killing him" lmao
It doesn't seem terrible. It just doesn't take itself seriously like most AAA games now do. It seems like "FUN" was the number one priority and not the usual "epic, deep and sad story with open world and crafting that takes 100h to finish".
Most games now are $70 to $100 and you’re just paying for graphics I’d rather play this $60 and just sit back and have some im tired of the 20 min cutscenes in games just make a movie that point
I buy a game based on how fun it looks to play not the amount of time it takes to beat. I bought wanted dead and I don't regret it because so far I've had more fun in wanted dead than many other triple A games. So for me it was worth the price
I'm having a great deal of fun with this one. the melee combat feels like a Ninja Gaiden Spinoff. The combo system doesn't go as deep but it does have the same sense of challenge and rhythm to it. The finishing moves are just a reskin for Ryo's destruction techniques in the 2nd and third games. The negative reviews come off to me as people that couldn't flow with the bizarre vibe, couldn't "git gud" at the combat, or both.
Ninja Gaiden is 100% more polished than this game and has good AI that can provide a challenge without having insane amounts of HP and damage…even Devils Third is more fun and flows better
This game is going to end up being a beloved cult classic years from now. Literally reminds me of the over the top action classics from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era everyone loves now.
This is game reminds me of those times where I go into a blockbuster a rent it and finish it over the weekend and be like oh that was fun and not play it again. totally getting when it's on sale.
They should rename it to Wanted: Dead on arrival. Barely anyone knew or was interested in the game before release and nothing has changed after it came out.
Don't listen to the haters. So what if the story and voice acting are terrible. We don't play these games for that crap anyway. It's gameplay gold. Not a marvel wannabe cutscene simulator like so many filthy AAA cashgrabs.
Only thing this game needs is a crash fix an the frame rate fix sometimes it studders, other than that it's cool oh yeah ppl don't like how difficult it can be I love it.
This game just looks like exactly what I want in a video game. An action game that mixes katanas and assault rifles in real time 3rd person combat. While controlling a spicy badass brunette woman in a casual but cool outfit. I’m conflicted on getting it though…
the gameplay reminds me a lot of Spacelords. It was so satisfying weaving between 3rd person shooting and melee combat. definitely gonna check this game out some time!
Looks like a Ryu Ga Gotoku heavily inspired game but action is turned to 11! This game should be supported for its IP to grow to a full AAA status. We need more action adventure games ^_^
Remember Devil's Third? No? Good. Then this is a unique and interesting take of a game that isn't as great as it could have been but still seems pretty good. Don't think about Devil's Third. Don't try to play Devil's Third. We have Devil's Third at home now and it's better but still has issues.
I saw another review of this game, and they said the game crashed on them and they had to uninstall and then re-install the game to get it working again.
The GameStop near my GF's didn't have it on PS4 so I got it sent to my house. Tbh I had a $50 gift card from Christmas so the full price wasn't a big deal for me. That and the only other games this year I really care about are Tears of the Kingdom Dead Island 2.. and Sons of the Forest but I don't have pc so oh well
Catharsis all the time game concept, fairly weak gameplay loops, scattered about randomly to break up the main game play loop. Which is competent, but broken: bad Ai, broken mechanics, boring bosses, and bad camera angles. All in random disjointed samey environments. How was this game recommendable? @@yoyoo9004 well, I finally got to play and rented from GameFly and the controls is even worse... It's like it's trying to be both hack and Slash plus shooting at the same time and it's not working. The life bar is annoying because it keeps moving as well. This game is awful. Completely awful. Played an hour and now it's going to be sent back ASAP!

It looks like what happens if Suda 51 got inspired by the gameplay of Warhammer: Space Marine
Nice comparison
And the Yakuza series, i guess
At $40 I would have snapped this up in an instant. $60 seems high for what this is.
make it 30
Yeah 40$ would have hit the sweet spot.
Agreed, anywhere from 30 to 40 would've been an instabuy.
same here
This looks like the over the top nonsensical game we all need every once in a while, something tells me I'm gonna love it
Claw machines, arcade games and karaoke minigames? Seems like a brilliant concept!

"Yakuza but make it more American"

The $60 price tag just doesn't fit with this game. It could've been a little bit of a cult success, but not for this price.
Definitely looks like one to stick on the wishlist as it'll be half price or less in a few months
$60? Bruh yeah that price is steep for something that feels like it came from the early Xbox 360 days.

I pre-ordered the collectors edition a couple of weeks ago. I can already tell I am going to have stupid fun with this game.
I’m getting serious yakuza/shadow warrior vibes. I love those games. They are the Gintama of action games
This game is going to end up being a beloved cult classic years from now. Literally reminds me of the over the top action classics from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era everyone loves now.
This game looks absolutely bizarre. It might be worth checking out just for the weirdness.
Sounds like something I'd enjoy, definitely picking it up... eventually, when it goes on sale.
I feel the same. This looks like stupid fun, but I'd rather wait till it's $20-30 off.
1:19 I can see the resemblance to Dead Or Alive now.
"Review in 3 Minutes", runtime... 4:18.... The whole world is a lie!!
This looks neat! The combat animation seems really nice, and i admire the randomness and breadth of side-activities here!
this and hi-fi rush be feeding the nostalgia for the 2000's
Thank you for actually reviewing this game, not piling on like every other critic who assures me they play a lot of action games
The female cop is voiced by Stephanie Joosten. If you played Metal Gear Solid 5, you'll know lol

@@XIIIOmega Yup
She plays Gunsmith, not Hannah if that's who you're referring to

The game seems like yakuza but with weapons and a nonsensical plot. This may be worth playing if the gameplay is good enough.

@@TheMarkoSeke Honestly? fair point however weapons in yakuza are a sideshow while in this game weapon combat is the main attraction.
