Smash Mouth Singer Steve Harwell Given Days To Live After Liver Failure | Ventura Nutrition

- Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell has been given days to live after being diagnosed with terminal end stage liver failure after years of alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction.
As well as being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy the All Star singer has also been admitted to hospice where he is surrounded by his family, friends and fiance to say their goodbyes.
Alcohol is one the most addictive and deadly substances in society currently causing more than 200 diseases worldwide and is responsible for over 3 million deaths per year.

Unfortunately addiction is a very real thing and it goes far beyond choices. As someone who’s grown up 36 years of my life around addiction throughout my family, Steve Harwell’s story certainly hits home for me! RIP to another amazing human being who suffered at the hands of alcohol addiction 🙏❤️
Apparently the doctor who gave him the bad news did not utter a word, he just sat there looking dumb, with his finger and his thumb in the shape of an L on his forehead. L, for Liver Failure. 😢

alcoholics usually don't make the transplant list
@soundsofperserverance3363 is unfortunately right. Even the healthiest individuals who qualify for transplants end up waiting months even years for a donor liver and even then there are so many variables that can pop up & stop it from going ahead. A very VERY tough situation to be in. RIP Steve Harwell 🙏❤️🎶
