  • In this video I show you how to add a second hdd or ssd to your laptop using your old cdrom or dvd drive, is very easy to do. You don´t need so much tools to make it!!
    You need an old cdrom, knife or cutter, screwdriver, Sata data cable, Sata power cable, soldering and cyanocrilate or hot glue.

    nice one, but for the soldering phase its better to do it outside the dvd drive case. its will be more handy and easier to clean the flux and reducing the solder joint will connected each other.

    I got an old HP DV6580ee laptop. I replaced the DVD with as 12.7mm IDE to SATA caddy containing SSD. The DVD and caddy have the same size with the same IDE interface. The caddy is not detected. What to do now ?

    mine, after I installed the candy hdd when I turned it on, it stuck on the acer logo, I waited for it to not reach Windows 7 either, I removed the hdd cady and it was back to normal, but after the laptop turned on it got to windows 7 I tried plugging in the candy hdd it can read 500gb, I use 500gb hard drive that is installed into the candy hdd, what is the solution so that when you turn on the laptop with the candy hdd, you can get to Windows 7, it turns on normally, it doesn't get stuck on the logo, please let me know, thank you, keep up the good work 😀🙏

      Do the new 500gb HDD have any windows installation? If it does it could be the problem, if it does not then you have to go to bios and select your boot device or double check if there is any error in the caddy drive you made.

      Debes tener seleccionado que bootee desde el dvd. Antes al no tener ningun dvd lo salteaba. Debes ingresar a la bios de tu pc y elegir como disco de arranque el hdd que tenias instalado.

      I use an empty hard drive and it doesn't have any contents, it's hard to enter the BIOS, it's just stuck at the Acer logo, I turn off the Acer laptop again, I remove the Candy HDD, I turn on the Acer laptop again without HDD Candy, then it's back to normal, my laptop uses Windows 7 64 bit , when I plugged in the candy hdd with the state on standby in windows 7, there was a green blue screen, that's where the problem was not found until now.

      @@bismilahhirohmanirohim1247 Apenas enciende tenes que presionar f2 y ahi entras a la bios. Busca otro tutorial que te indique como poner el hdd como disco de arranque.

    • @2TECH
      @2TECH  3 года назад

      Pues es facil pero y si no lo tienes? O lo quieres incorporar directamente en tu laptop? Digamos que esta es una opción :) PD. yo tengo un cable sata a usb, pero 7 de cada 10 veces me falla, parece que se pierde mucho en el cable.

    Una HDD/SSD Caddy 2.5´´ cuesta 6€...y no destrozas el lector de CD/DVD el cual puedes mantener como externo con un cable SATA>USB 🤦‍♂️

      Amigo, recién compré hace 15 días lectoras sata hdd a 3 dolares cada una en ebay pero sabes que? acá yo que soy técnico tengo 15 o más unidades de DVD que nadie quiere. Además que no todos pueden comprar por internet u otros que les gusta fabricar cosas. No todo es malo :). Un saludo!!
