As always Pete thanks for your continuing support with the "Paint It Blue" event to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Over the last 4 years we have now raised £959, hopefully by the time this event ends we'll have cracked £1000. We currently stand at £322 for this year making it our highest fund raiser so far. My thanks also go to your subscribers for bidding on what is yet another superb model......on behalf of the DMC my warmest regards....PJ:)
Epiphanies are a wonderful thing. I said many times I wasn't buying anymore cars...then a bargain comes up. I noticed when you were priming, there was a bloke sitting inside. I hope he doesn't mind you painting in his yard. Great restoration by the way. Also liked the method of removing the hubs.
Aren't they? I don't get them very often so I celebrate them when they do. That guy inside, whilst handsome, is a creep. Every time I go outside, there he is. I got that little gear puller from the QLD Hobby Expo last year, I think it was $20, I've had to modify it a fair bit to suit my purposes, but it's better than smacking them off. Thank You!
Gee Mark, calm down, I know I awesome and all, but the greatest on the thing? I'm probably that too, but I try to remain humble in the face of international belovedness. Yes that is a word. Thank you Mark!
@@phill2009c6 I try to get close, I’d like to be able to get closer with the silver sprayed on with a mask as per factory, should give it a go one day. Thank you.
Outstanding restoration peter, the fumes from the old paint would have clouded the glass before you got at it ,good save with the engine cover . Thanks for doing this for the charity build .
Thank you Ron! Don't let the haters bring you down, I've been lucky so far not having comments like the one I saw you post about the other day, what a tool bag.
Hi Pete, can I ask you, what do you call the small device you hold the body with to paint it ? I have a tamiya spring loaded one but im looking for something like the one you use, I dont know what its called so I cant even search for one. 👍🏻
Hi Chris! I don't know what part of the world you're in, but I get those little plastic craft vices from a shop here in Australia called 'Daiso' They're one of those 'Everything is $2.80 except when it isn't' shops that just has stuff from Japan. I find they are narrow enough for most 1/43 diecast bodies, I just sit them over the jaws and wind it out. I've got a Tamiya one too, but these are a much better option for the little guys. If you can't find them where you are, send me an email to pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com and I will help you out.
I found a link for Daiso Singapore (The Australian site didn't have any pictures) it might help to find them elsewhere? shop.daisosingapore.com.sg/products/4549131308648
