People get the wrong message from this. His "crime" wasn't killing the super soldier, it was doing it on camera and embarrassing America as its representative. Like that scene in Black Panther where T'Suri says "the world is watching" so they can't kill Claw because all the cameras are on them.
That's why Cap got his title taken after Civil War and denying the Sokovia Accords. Even Steve Rogers couldn't fulfill the expectations of an entire country on his own when it conflicted with his moral compass.

    • @Don-Scrima
      @Don-Scrima 5 дней назад +14

That’s very clearly not the intention of the scene, and it wouldn’t matter if it was because a true hero does the right thing whether it’s public or private. The reason they didn’t kill Klaue is because it would’ve made them look bad and caused an international incident.

I always felt sorry for Walker. He was put into an impossible situation- to be a regular guy who is made the next Captain America. He was practically set up to fail.

Walker thought he earned being cap for "his life lived by their mandate" but that was never what made cap cap😂 u don't earn being cap. John Walker was as perfect as he wouldve be. Obviously he cant be like Steve Rogers. Steve was a good guy, but he was also delusional about the idea of "Liberator Army of America". Steve wasnt really in field before the serum, so he had no idea about the real structures of US Army. American Army is not perfect, America is not perfect; non of the armies or countries are perfect. After all, the whole point of "war" is bad whether you are invader or defender. Thats why after the Winter Soldier and Civil War, he left the shield and the star on his costume behind. Cuz at that very moment, he realized he was fighting for good but also fighting against America instead of fighting for America. US basically wanted both good babyface like Rogers and also good stealth hitman like Winter Soldier. John Walker was a perfect candidate for this mission. He was a real soldier like Barnes did before and he has a good physical similarity like Rogers. When Walker compromised himself with killing a terrrorist in public, US wanted to get rid of that "killer/monster American Army" image with getting rid of Walker. So John Walker wasnt really a bad guy after all.

Furthermore, for John, he was just serving his country by following the orders and taking on the mantle. He never once tried to be Steve Rogers. Ah yes, the guy who decapitated aliens, threw a fucking bike into a tank, killing it's crew, and fought IN WORLD WAR II, definitely didnt kill a single person. And fun fact, Walker quite literally was Captain America.
The only thing he did wrong, was kill a Terrorist, trying to act like pinning a man down so he can't save someone isnt murder, as an excuse to not die, after trying to escape repeatedly, and nearly killed two people with a cement trash can that Walker had to block.

precisely why steve rogers was worthy even of the mjolnir, & john walker wasnt even of the title for the Man with a Plan:
john was strong all his life, hes developed a condescending attitude with strength, he may even think its his normal to be captain america, the exact opposite of his predescessor,
    vs
steve was born into weakness, he knows the value of strength, he knows its not something to be flaunted, but to be applied, especially to defend not just earth but all life in the mcu, & ive never heard him say the title, he always intros his own name..

To anyone who says Walker did nothing wrong: he executed a surrendering man which is a war crime. Walker had him pinned to the ground, surrendering and pleading for his life, meaning he was no longer a threat. What does Walker do in response to this? He kills him anyway. He committed a literal war crime for all to see.

Steve: “Bullshit! I didn’t give you the shield so you could pawn it off to the government. You were supposed to be Captain America.”
Sam: “Yea well you didn’t consider what it would mean to give the shield to a black man”
Steve: “Holy Hell! Is that what this is about? Last I checked it wasn’t the 1950s anymore? What did the last 70 years of civil rights activism not actually accomplish anything?”
      Sam: “I’m sorry I just wasn’t ready”
Steve: “You’re never ready Sam, did you think I was ready? Did you think I wasn’t scared about what it would mean when I took my shield and disobeyed orders to save lives? Dammit Sam I was terrified but I did it because it was the right thing to do.”
      Sam: ‘SILENCE’
Steve: “you told me, you’d do your best. Was that a lie?”
Sam: “Yea I guess it was.”

It absolutely sucked and skipping over Bucky, who has a real character arc and reason to become Captain America, was an atrocious move by Disney. Just like every move they’ve made since Endgame except Guardians 3. Spider-Man was still decent because of Sony’s creative control at the time.
