This is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible to tell people they can bury a chicken and compost to 99 degrees. Just to be clear, you need to be at 130 for 3 days to kill pathogens to make compost safe to put on your garden. If you are just putting vegetable scraps or leaf or garden scraps ok. But manure or anything that might have ecoli or salmonella or similar even egg shells, should always be raised to minimum 130, which usually requires turning. Side note, composting at 99 degrees will not kill weeds either.
Very informative about how to get started with a compost!
Dude Yes! I've been wanting to do this!
Are compost bins better to put in full sun or shade? Or does it even matter?
I prefer shade. It keeps the piles from drying out
Tanner do you have to deal with Bermuda grass where you’re at?
We definitely have plenty of Bermuda grass. It’s the devil
@@tannerfarmstead does it creep into your compost pile
Looks like black soldier fly, I'll bring the chickens in and let them turn your compost for you, you can easily net them in and they are in the shade.
