Be think twice. E93 bmw is far far LOAF HEAVIER than very LIGHTLY Ass S2000. and only 90 horsepower more than s2k plus FAR HEAVIER. so s2k sucks. mine bmw 535I 620 rwhp RB TURBO (evo) ❤❤❤
Pulling from a low speed the hondas usually pull faster and harder, but the bigger cars will always catch up.. slap a small turbo for some quick spooling at about 10lbs of boost, nicely tuned, then the honda will come alive in higher speeds. But that's the only disadvantage of NA hondas.. they top out fast from no more power
Revving out to 8400rpm is something unto its own. The s2000 is more driver oriented; and for those that are seeking driving pleasure, they'd be hard pressed to find something similar considering price.
Compared to the average car yes! But still, at the limit they are not set up for canyon carving so to speak.. My father owns a 328i and its a great commuter car but between it's body roll and understeer it is not what I would want out of a drivers car. However with some upgraded springs and sway bars that can all be resolved..

I recently just raced my '07 stock 335i vs a 2004 S2000 with intake and downpipes. He said car had around 240 horsepower with mods, but after the race I looked up details and that's the power it puts down as stock, so with mods it would have around 270-280. We only had the chance to race from a 20 mph roll and he pulled on me a decent distance and won. Any tips for me if I race again? This was my first actual set up race. Thanks
Your right they come with 240hp from factory and rev up to 8-9k rpm depending what year s2000. My advice is get intakes and exhaust upgrade along with a tune and you'll be keeping up with the big dogs

Definitely agree! it beat ferrari with the most hp per litter when it came out. But this is the f22. it is a 2.2liter, and the bmw is an n54 in line six.

1st - its a 2.2L 2nd - the 335i has a JB4 (map 5) which puts it around 350 WHP. The S2000 probably has around 210WHP if that. Now I'd say the S2000 did quite well against the 335i, probably shouldve lost by many more car lengths IMO.

+Joseph C. I plan on getting a s2000 at some point, too. Its one of the best cars even built period. Look it up there are several 600-700+ whp stock block f series. These are on the best fuel and best parts and amazing tuner. a good tuner and good fuel goes a long way. I went to a dyno day not to long ago "dynojet" and its a low reading dyno by a lot. I seen turbo LS swap making around 500whp and several different cars making under 500 and a 335 with similar mods to the ones you mentioned made 550whp.

All you need is a nice turbo set up,bigger fuel pump and injectors and a really good tune to make around 500+whp and that's all you really need in these light weight cars because remember hp doesn't always matter power to weight ratio is very important too so don't worry if a bmw makes 600whp an s2000 with less hp can most likely. Outrun bmw with more hp because of the power to weight ratio,not trying to talk shit on bmw because I like bmws myself but just stating facts

I was just at 350whp for a couple years and I'm now at 535whp on e85 and waiting on a new fuel pump (limiting factor in my setup) for 600+whp. Engine is stock except for ap2 retainers (i have an ap1). Total cost of my current setup is around $6000 including the $450 tune and $1200 hondata ecu. Also about to have my differential built for $1400 so i can floor it in 2nd without worrying about it breaking lol
i feel the s2k shoulda done better just my opinion 8k rev distributes the power faster and its a 2.2 liter inline 4 vtec its a very nice and decent speedy fun car if u ask me ;)

jdizzzo7 Park Avenues are definietly not the best to look at, but it's just that much better beating 4.6 mustangs, older 5.0 mustangs and sports cars in a granny car, and mines not even supercharged! Buicks in the late 90s and early 2000s were definitely sleepers, looks like shit but the look on peoples faces when they get destroyed by a car for grandma is priceless!

N54 335I JB4 Map 5 with only a BMS DCI and Exhaust is only around ~370hp. You would only get +400 or so if it has a BMS Flash, and its on E85 fuel.

get the jb4 and with Bolt ons and you'll be pushing some good power

The reason is that they have a short delay on the 335i. Lots of people dont know that. With a simple tuned you can take that off.
s2000 is going to shine more on a track with turns, not in a straight line as much. it is a cornering machine
Lets not forget the s2000 isn't only a 4 cylinder, normal aspirated engine. I laugh when turbos win and I'm in there rear view mirror.
