Is there anything more dangerous than a “scared” cop?
Nope!
@@purpledancerbmw5279apparently they are scared of acorns too!
Absolutely. . . I agree, that's what most home invasion robbers say, they yell "open the door this is the police".
Which is why people are taught to verify first!
This guy covered up the peep hole. . .
There is just something fishy about the whole incident.
The police are taught to arrive at the address given, then stand there awhile to verify if there is an actual disturbance. If you don't hear anything, you call dispatch to verify that your at the actual "address" or the property manager who called.
@@madmaximilian5783 what is the acorn story. I mostly ignore the news.
No.
The sheriff lied. We can see the cop hiding on the side.
Yep, I agree, he flat out lied. . .
I didn’t see anything in the video indicating that the Sheriff was lying about ANYTHING. What did he lie about? It may not have been a “good shoot,” but that’s a different discussion. One could also assert that the deceased probably shouldn’t have opened the door with a gun in his hand, even if he had a right to do so. For what reason would he do that?
@cablebrain9691 perhaps a lapse of judgement because he was afraid. What I noticed about the body cam footage though is the sheriff didn't identify himself the first knock and stepped out of view from the doors peephole multiple times. I can see why the airman would be confused as to what's going on. Regardless of whether or not the Sheriff followed protocol or not he killed an innocent man, a veteran, a mother's son. Not a criminal. And there should be proper repercussions for that.
@@cablebrain9691Everything was perfectly explained in the video and these words are confirmed by the camera footage - the cop knocked on the door twice, was silent and moved away from the peephole, so the guy took a gun and opened the door!!!
@@ramzeschannel5892 FALSE….If you check the COMPLETE video of the incident, you’ll find that what I’ve said is correct. The officer ABSOLUTELY identified himself more than once, and loudly.
He DID move away from the peep-hole, but he did NOT cover it up, as someone had stated. This is for the officer’s safety, I imagine, so that he couldn’t potentially be shot through the door. And as I had mentioned, the airman could have verified the officer’s identity in other ways, but he didn’t attempt to do that. Instead, he opened the door while holding a pistol in his hand, AFTER the officer had identified himself.
I think the FBI need to be involved because when your in the military its federal goverment! im sure the feds won't agree with you sheriff!

Just because someone knocks on your door and says they are the sheriff doesn't mean they are. You are legally within your right to open the door with a gun in your hand in your own apartment. However it's not legal for a cop, who doesn't have a gun pointed at him, to not say put the gun down and unload 6 shots into an innocent man. You don't shoot until he's on the ground and then tell him to put the gun down.
That sounds good but answering the door with a gun got this man killed. I'd probably side with ppl saying not to answer the door with a gun in your hand than ppl using the its perfectly legal argument
@@jaahnnn Yeah, there is also a peep hole to verify if the person is a cop or not...

Having a gun in your home is not a death sentence
I just watched another video that proves otherwise, in USA!USA!
He arrived with a firearm because robbers can lie and say they are police. ...which was more likely to be the case considering he hadn't done anything wrong. Why would he think a gun would protect him from the police? He obviously didn't think there was any reason for the police to bust into his house
He didn't know they were Police, no identification and peep hole covered.
@@janetbrooks6467the peep hole was not covered….

Exactly, that girl heard on the tape had to be involved and may have threatened him. I pray they find her and learn it was a triangle or jealous female lie. How do you hear a SLAP when a person is on a video game and face timing someone.
Why is there no mentioning on whether the 911 call was legit in the first place?? Was there really fighting as reported? Why would she be so certain about the apt number which turned out to be a "wrong" number? The whole thing was weird.
That cop is a murderer!!
If he's dangerous for approaching his own door with his legally purchased firearm, the police are just as dangerous for approaching his door with a firearm. Their rights dont supercede ours.
They do though. Lmfao. Officer safety blah blah
Last I checked, this is America, Florida, where they definitely believe in the right to their arms and don’t back down. How was it OK for a police officer to enter into the wrong home and shoot a lawfully armed person. You got a square that with most Americans, how can you go into the wrong home and then say my life was in danger you’re in the wrong spot you made a mistake and when you make a mistake and go into the wrong can’t someone say well this mistake led to that mistake. Therefore, you are liable for what occurred. Not just civil liability criminal liability.
That's what I'm saying, if it's so wrong for this man to have a gun when approaching his door, than the police shouldn't approach his door with guns either. Police's 2a rights don't have priority over our 2a rights.
Did you even watch the video, the cop didn’t enter the house and shoot the guy….the idiot answered the door with a gun in his hand….Darwin awarded.

I just saw the body cam video and the officer goes to the door by himself, knocks on the door WITHOUT announcing himself and then immediately moves to the side of the door where he would be out of view of the peephole. If I heard loud banging on my door, looked out the peephole and saw no one there, I would be suspicious and I definitely wouldn't open my door. The officer waited silently about 30 seconds and even though he was expecting another officer to arrive, it looks like he is still alone. He knocks on the door again and this time announces himself and knocks again and announces a 2nd time all within about 12 seconds. The door opens within 15 seconds of the officer announcing himself for the first time. You can see that the victim has his gun at his side pointed down to the ground when the video ends.
Where is the threat to the officer's life? If the officer thought the situation was dangerous, why didn't he wait for the back-up he was expecting? Why didn't he announce himself the first time he knocked and why did he stand where he would obviously not be visible through the peephole? It seems reasonable to assume that the victim got his gun after the first knock when the officer failed to announce himself and then waited silently out of view for 30 seconds, and the victim was still holding his gun in the 15 seconds between the officer announcing himself and the victim opening the door. It isn't illegal to answer your door in Florida while holding a gun pointed down at the ground. He could've taken the time to set the gun down somewhere away from the door, but he wasn't obligated to; it seems he chose to answer the door quickly instead.
The cop moved walked away from door and could not be seen threw the peep hole ,, if your announcing yourself as a officer of law y are u hiding ?
They are taught to stand to the side because if you stand in front of the door that is called the fatal funnel. It is easy for a person to shoot through the door. The other reason he stands to the side is to listen to what's taking place in the apartment i.e. if there are any raised voices regarding domestic violence. Officer Tatum did an analysis of the shooting. Check it out!

Ok first off the lady that was walking the sheriff said she didn't know what apartment exactly. Then she just went with apartment 1401.
She heard the word Bitxh and a slap. But there was noone in his apartment with him. All these news reports need to start off with this lady conversation first. Thus is how it happen and if the Sheriff would have listen a little bit longer at the door to hear any arguing name calling and waited on back up this would have turn out different.

A woman at the complex made the call and told the police that there had been previous disturbances coming from the residence. It was the correct address, but it was an unnecessary call. Police have no responsibility to respond to calls where there is no proof of danger or a crime. No one inside the home called. The woman was not sure of anything and sent the police there for nothing. She made sure to say that she heard a slap coming from the apartment on another occasion.

Makes me think, how do cops announce themselves to someone who is deaf? This Airman could have been working on jets all day, and we from current class action lawsuits that Air Force sucks at providing correct hearing protection to maintenance personnel.
Hahaha!!!
The cop already had a nasty attitude when he knocked on the door.
So glad the officers took out the trash
What was the apartment number of the disturbance? Why did the lady say she heard a slap but did know which unit it came from. Thats a lie, if she heard a noise she could difine as a slap she would know exactly what unit it came from. Especially since the unit doors arent clustered. Who called her, didnt she ask the lady her name and apartment number to give to the police?
And you have body cam footage of the door, and we can hear the Airmans' response. Something in the Milk isn't clean. Multiple shoots fired. Only one person shot. 1/2 Billion, get then money. The payers will figure it out.
