I swear G RR Martin has made like a dozen movie worth characters that are just casually used for lore and backstory 😂
You can say that again 😂😂😂😂
Is that why it takes so long for him to spit out books? 😂
Facts, these guys having short stories on their own would be epic
It’s because he doesn’t use any setting that has no option for rape and incest, that’s why they never made a show for the long night when the walkers first came
@@Bella_The_Chef nope rape culture was legal in the North that guy called Theon Stark and his army raped the Vale rape became illegal under Targaryens' rule and not to mention first GOT spin off was about long night called Blood Moon they spend 30 million dollar for pilot episode but pilot was shit thats why they canceled it
Theon Stark was the perfect representation of their sigil Direwolf. This is what happens when Winter finnally comes.
Facts, this is a true DireWolf
Where can I read about him?
That and cregan stark also
Honestly a lot of the starks choose violence.
Alaric Stark told the king with the third biggest dragon in tagaryan history that his gratitude and condolences don't hold the same value as his brothers life.
When the queen came he told her to keep her dragon outside his castle and to not expect balls because "this is the north and winter is coming", when the king came instead of offering him food he took him to the crypts and told him this is where my brother stays after your actions. Followed by calling the entire south dishonourable and insulting the faith of the seven. Telling him he should have expected the rebellion from the worst of the worst.
@@vigokarnebeek9856 cant wait to see him in season 2 him and jace would've been a great duo
Man _really_ chose violence. Ned Shoulda took notes
Shoot, forget Ned, perhaps Robb should've taken note. He probably should've just killed Jamie, honestly, and terrorized Lannister forces.
Roose was a c@nt but I'd have let him run rampant against our foes.
@@thalmoragent9344 dead Jaime means dead sansa
@@Thereisanalienpresenceonearth Sansa was honestly annoying in the start then her character arc started and she got less annoying. Last couple seasons ruined her character along with Jon, Dany, and Tyrion. At least in my eyes
@@Thereisanalienpresenceonearth robb didn't care for her as much in the books atleast
@@FEEC-tm1mq yeah he did lol, no idea where you got that from
"Father always said the North was different, more loyal to our own."
"The North is too wild to be conquered."
"The North never forgets."
"Leave one wolf Alice and the sheep are never safe."
Ah yes, Alice the wolf. Great character.
Alice in Winterland
I like that the comment has been edited, but not corrected.
That last line is “silk” quality.
alice is so wolf you know
There's always that one ancestor that puts heads on stakes.
I mean, is it really a family tree if theres isnt that one ancestor?
Would have been tywin if he showed love to tyrion and gave him control
Not yours
I mean if it works
Theon is on the allah level
Can you imagine? Your guys sail off to conquer a land of giant men and don't return, instead those giant men come to your hood to troll you with the bodies of your dead homies before robbing you, trashing your entire neighborhood and sailing away laughing.
The ultimate case of "you fucked around and found out" 😂
First Men were on average shorter than Andals.
@@EzekielDeLaCroix do you have a source? I'm genuinely asking.
@@TheAntiTrope
A Game of Thrones, Chapter 40, Catelyn VII. - A description of the Andal Warrior and their height is mentioned.
A Game of Thrones, Chapter 66, Bran VII - again, Andals' height are mentioned, meaning that it must have been striking to the original inhabitants.
The World of Ice & Fire, Ancient History: Valyria's Children. - Height is also mentioned again.
Their striking height is usually used to be juxtaposed to First Men. Of the purest First Men are the Reeds and Crannogs who are noted for their shortness.
Everyone is the villain in someone's eyes/ story...
Didn't just sail over and steal their shit. Slaughtered a fuck ton, hacked off their heads and brought them back to the north, where the hungry wolf had them impaled on spikes all along the coast to make sure that any fool enough to come north after what he'd done to andalos, would know how it was gonna end for them.
Man went to Essos raiding the Andals when the rest of Westeros was too busy bending over to the them. Goddamn no chill.
No chill? They ARE the chill.
@@VitchAndVorty Chill is coming
Most of Westeros wasn’t bending to them. Most were resisting other then the Reach where they were intermarrying them
Can you imagine if this guy went South instead of Ned or Rob? Rip Joff.
Well...we wouldn't have much of a story.
Dude after capturing jamie would have took his head and planted it outside casterly rock on a spike!
@@johnnyboogalo4897And such way would have lost the war immediately. Remember, Robb Stark also wasn't defeated in the battle - he was murdered by Tywin Lannister's scheming. Killing the only son, who Tywin considered to be worthy, would mean that Tywin won't stop until Starks are all but dead - and Tywin perfectly knows how to arrange assassinations. We would get same "Red wedding" or something akin to that.
I am much more surprised that in the GoT Katelyn didn't suggest Tywin to exchange Jaime on Ned and Sansa+Arya. That was the most logical thing to do, and could have saved Ned's life.
@@thedreamscripter4002well ned was dead till they captured jamie.
And sansa and arya combined are of less use then jamie alive.
Because of jamie tywin was not attacking the northerners wit full force.
Tywin knew that if he would kill the northerners then they would kill his son.
And tywin could not do the red wedding even if they would have killed jamie as northerners were loyal people and freys had no reason to betray starks.
Only when robb married to jenie( books) the Frey soldiers left. After that karstarks left.
And they don't have jamie Lannister.
Now it was impossible for them to win the war.
😂😂😂He would absolutely let Roose bolton flay Tywin and his sons
Theon Stark is the embodiment of "Fuck around and find out."
Give this man a prequel series instead of giving the damn Targaryens like 3 or 4 like they're planning. The starks are the heroes of the series not the Targaryens. Jon Snow was technically a Targaryen by name and half and half by blood but be was raised with Stark values and traditions which is what made him the man he was and drove him to be the savior of mankind.
There were four choices and all of them were "violence" in different languages 😂
The hungry wolf was possibly the smartest stark in stark history.
That would be the king who knelt
@@Shyhab ok... the second smartest stark, in history.
@@Blaklyon0cregan stark was op too. I don't know about smart, but personality wise he was definitely top.
There are tony and howard stark and soon morgan stark so not sure if teh hungry wolf is the smartest
@@ivanjenisaactampoc5139 compared to the young wolf... he probably is a genius.
That’s my favorite stark king. The fact he went at the source where the flow of men streamed from, which no other kingdom in the south did, displaying their leader for all to see, with all their superior weaponry and gadgets, I was like yes this man is a problem. They saw it to and didn’t come back😂😂. I am pretty sure even the dragon lords heard of this guy the hungry wolf 😂😂😂😂.
The North was respected and many houses never wanted beef with it... Till Ned stark and his softness
@@kendricklenox5672 hahah @ ned stark and his softness. Yah for sure he didn’t have that killer instinct and fear like the hungry wolf that’s for sure. If he was like Theon stark nobody would try nothing funny. Not in westoros or across the narrow sea. If they did ned stark would be on your door step with his army if he was anything like Theon stark.
@@tanman49 The North was a force not to be reckoned with because whoever it sided with in a rebellion always won that rebellion it was Like USA during the world wars.
Brandon the Breaker, with Artos the Implacable as an honorable mention just for the bitchin' title.
What Starks used to be, now they are mini Arryns bcs of Ned.
Rob was great too .ned also a great warrior but jon snow was a wimp
Because of Catelyn and her Tully fickleness. All of Robb's bad decisions as well as the Northern calamites come from her basically sabotaging the war effort from under her son
@@SantomPh i must respectfully disagree. she literally told him not to send theon as an envoy to pyke and did not agree with robb's decision to marry jeyne westerling. These things led to the red wedding and ironborn invading the north.
@@SantomPh A war she basically started to make it worse
@@cameronmoore2713 She did set Jaime free tho, which was like the biggest leverage Rob had over Lannisters. With Jaime free, Tywin easily planned the Red Wedding. But I do agree with what you said too, Rob made a huge mistake not listening to his mother on the matters she was actually right about.
This guy is basically the Tywin Lannister of House Stark.
Rather Tywin is basically him of house Stark.
The Starks are known for their ferocious brutality. Ned was.. softer lol
@@aljosapetkovic69 I wouldn't exactly call him soft. Ned is a legendary army commander of two wars and countless battles (the most notable 2 being the Battle of the Bells and the Siege of Pyke) and wasn't afraid to face off against Arthur Dayne.
Plus, Roose Bolton didn't dare talk back to Ned. THAT says something.
@@jasonvazquez8652 I didn't say soft, i said softer haha. He's still ha hard man compared to most
@@aljosapetkovic69Ned was a Wolf, but he wasn't Dire.
I feel like, if Ned had part of Theon’s willingness to crush the enemy, the story would’ve gone much better for the Starks. Ned’s good will cost his family a lot.
Lots of people say this but I’m not convinced. When exactly could Ned “crush” the enemy? Who exactly did he know was his enemy in the first place? He didn’t find out about Cersei until after he got to KL & Littlefinger/Varys are schemers who didn’t expose themselves until afterwards. The only time Ned could’ve been “ruthless” was after Robert got mauled by that boar. And that would be dumb cause he was wholly outnumbered in the capital. Plus just look at how it would seem to everyone else. New Hand coming in after everyone was chilling for the last few years under the old Hand then and arresting the queen and her children and trying to put someone else on the throne.
@@mubarakusman9184 that’s a good example, when Ned found out about Cersei, instead of being decisive, he went to her and offered her the chance to leave. He knew Cersei was the enemy, and he showed kindness, when he could’ve brought what he found to the public and organized houses against her, or at least anticipate her reaction and have some sort of insurance. Instead, he gave the Lannister the chance to be decisive and they did.
@@molohktegg2462 no you’re right and I agree that it was the dumb thing to do. But at the same time, it’s not as if they’re in a lawless society. He could’ve easily provoked war if he simply arrested Cersei and her children. And killing them is out of the question as well. I mean Tywin went to war over Tyrion and he didn’t really like him. Imagine it was Cersei and Jaime in that situation. He should’ve told Robert about it though
@@mubarakusman9184 I feel like a good willed person assumes too much about other people. Ned assumed that Cersei would be reasonable, and assumed that the gold cloaks were honorable, and assumed that Joffrey would honor the deal to send him to the wall. A ruthless man would’ve seen the imminent conflict and strike first and strong. Like Theon Stark razing villages to send a message and put an end to conflict.
@@molohktegg2462 You know it's a fucked up world when empathy costs you your life
Theon Stark: I’m not just gonna tell you to f^ck off, I’m gonna make sure you stay f^cking off so I can have some damned peace 😂
This level of savagery and brutality Is what house Stark is known for. We have a very skewed perspective of the house because of ned. Ned
Is barely a stark, He was raised.
By southerners married to southerners formed brotherly. Bonds with southerners. Ned Stark and all the stark we know are practically southerners. People always forget ned was never supposed to be Warden of the North
Yep, he's elder brother Rickard Stark was meant to be Lord of Winterfell and warden of the north. Rickard was a bit more savage like Theon Stark than pacifist like Eddard. He was actually meant to marry Catelyn Tully
@@musakalima8794 Rickard is his father, Brandon is his brother
@@hamiltonrhys9277 indeed you're right. Thanks for the correction
In my opinion it is House Tully of Winterfell not House Stark....
@@thomaschaumeil3878*House Arryn to be precise, House Stark values in GoT were actually Arryn's.
Man brought the winter itself with him, Lannisters were lucky they didn't have to deal with this Stark...
If the ironborns were smart: Yo theon let's raid the andals again.
I'm partial to the Old Man in the North, myself. But Theon is definitely a good candidate.
Every generation has its own trials.
Cregan was never a king.
The best King was the King who knelt, he sacrificed his pride to save the entirety of his kingdom.
@@KingSlayer_.I agree, especially since I’m a Targaryen loyalist. Torrhen Stark got to keep his kingdom without losing a single soldier and the Targaryens were one step closer to uniting Westeros. The Mad King Aerys was the worst king in the history of Westeros for tearing that unity apart.
@Kurapikachu I'd argue Viserys was the worst king from the Targaryen lineage. (Yes, I'm talking about the one from HOTD) He was a good man but made the single biggest mistake a king could make by making his daughter the heir over his firstborn son. The most destructive war in westorsi history happened because of him.
@@KingSlayer_. I agree but at least the Targaryen line remained intact and in power after his reign, after the reign of Aerys most of the Targaryens were wiped out and the ones who weren’t were forced to flee like criminals. No other king fucked up that badly and during the actual reign of Viserys the kingdom was still peaceful and prosperous and Viserys wasn’t hated by his subjects, Viserys made a terrible mistake but overall wasn’t completely incompetent. Aerys on the other hand made a long series of mistakes like insulting Tywin Lannister gaining the ire of the richest and arguably most powerful man in Westeros with the potential of turning an entire kingdom against him and by killing the Starks and turning the North against him. Aerys made several more minor mistakes but those main mistakes were much more significant than the one major mistake made by king Aerys, Aerys likely knew his choice would have grave consequences but didn’t realize just how great the impact would be. Overall Aerys was definitely the worst, he was a mad tyrant whose ignorance and paranoia turned all of Westeros against his entire family whereas Viserys was a level headed man and a decent king whose love for his only child from his first wife caused him to make a terrible error in the line of succession.
Shows like this would’ve been great to see
They could go on for years focusing on the different kingdoms and petty kingdoms
The North suddenly becomes OP af when they have a fleet.
Him going to essos and whooping them before they came to Westeros is probably the most gangster ASOIAF move I am aware of. Especially, considering these are the folks that conquered all of Westeros
So... Vlad the Impaler
not quite. but close.
Oh Sweet SummerChild! If Vlad had fought the Andals Invaders he Will had Impaled them from Winterfell To Oldtown, because Kings Landing wasnt build yet! 😉⚔️⚔️⚔️
GRRM writes intricate character backstories that could make entire movies only to give said characters supporting roles.
Ironborn "write that down WRITE THAT DOWN!!!"
Its stories like this that makes it believable the the wild and rough north was loyal to house Stark.
The ancient Stark’s are known to be wild. They had many great Kings.
Gigachad stark
should have done a tv show on this guy.
Or like an animated short film
Ned played Gandhi and eventually got killed 😂
Finally both a Stark and a Theon with actual character and balls capable of being stern and not just being a "good guy" this is the type of warrior i like to see more of
heheheh theon...balls...hehehehe
The crazy part is Theon is named after him
Ned needed some of this big dick energy. As soon as arriving in King's institute a purge of the Gold Cloaks and execute the more corrupt among them and replace their officers with his own men.
It's not like everyone didn't know the Gold Cloaks were corrupt and Ned would be swimming in evidence if he decides to hold a trial and eliminate the leadership.
After this, it would be almost impossible for Cersei to move against him as he'd have control of the city.
Lannister didn't even survive, when winter came to them
Absolute Chad 👍
Based
He looks like a bigger, stronger, Jon Snow.
We need a spinoff of his story.
And That My Friends is how "Winter Is Comming" was born! ⚔️⚔️⚔️
“Winter is coming” is not a warning, it is a threat.
I would love to see it on screen and the way they should do is like the tales of the Jedi but longer episodes, animation is perfect for the scale needed for this universe.
I can hear Olenna telling him: "The men of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No, you're a wolf. Be a wolf!"
And he went on to burn villages across Essos.😂😂
Now THIS man needs a mini series. Do like a 2 or 3 season run, based wholly on the Starks and the North vs the Andals.
The Starks are just built different
I swear to god, there’s such an enormous amount of lore, sometimes I have to remind myself I’m not learning about actual history
Fam was a menace 😂
Yo!!!! 😂😂😂
The Starks of old were something else.
To be fair the Starks didn't lose it all even though what remained paled in comparison. Jon did ok to live up to Theon and if Rob hadn't thought with his Southron head he would have been damn near Theon incarnate.
George can really just drop these amazing characters from Westerosi history out of nowhere but can’t finish TWoW
No shit. Each book has enough content for multiple books, and has numerous plot lines and character arcs going through it. It takes a while because it’s great content. Just be patient. When it’s ready, it’s ready.
They need “House of the Direwolf” or some anthology series that can focus on the North. Old school Stark action would be badass.
the same name as theon greyjoy who died for brandon stark. RIP theon, you are a good man
wow I did not even know this.. I hope they make a series about it
Lots of legendary starks and amazing northern history in the books. That’s why the north is so huge, and why they are are a different religion from the south. They worship the old gods while andals the faith of the 7 or the 7 pointed star. The hungry wolf sailed back to andalos with the seven pointed star chained to the bow of his ship😂. also different culture meaning they don’t care for knight hood because that’s an andal and southern custom. Nobody ever conquered the north and got to rearrange their way of life and culture and religion. If the hungry wolf had lost this battle this video mentioned, the north would be a different place and probably cut up into many kingdoms like the south. The north lands are nearly half of westoros. They are huge if you look at a map of westoros. Thank king Theon stark the hungry wolf for that.
Not even the white walkers got the north when they marched south with their magic and superior weaponry 😂😂.Starks put them down as well.
let's make a movie about this guy
The Hungry Wolf is a simple and badass title
The Starks may have been wolves, yet they were also GOATS.
Bro was winter😂
If Theon was the the King in the north instead of Torrhen in the conquest, those Weirwood Arrows and spears would have put down those stupid over-sized flying semi-magical firebreathing alligators to rest.🐺
Starks would have ended if they did that how would you get scorpions for the arrows and how would you cross the trident without enemy scouts discovering it.
Let one dragon live and the wolves are never safe.
I think theon stark is also smart and he wouldn't risk death of his people. I dragon is one thing but 3?. Maybeafter dorne he would've tried but not before.
@frazieromondi9331 I'm talking about theon stark on learning about the dornish killing a dragon with scorpion bolts would make him think of rebelling.
If dorne can pull off a rebellion the north can too.
@@jeffreysamson5938
Dorne repelled the invasion through Guerrilla tactics, which are always efficient against an outside invading force in your own land, so North or any other kingdom could have done so. But fighting a direct head on battle against Aegon in an open field would have made Torrhen and his Northern force a pile of Ash.
@@craftyunicorn4291 Also neither The North nor any other region in Westeros had the advantage that Dorne had which allowed them to engage the invading forces in guerilla warfare. A desert land with caves to hide whenever dragons breathe fire down upon them. Every other region is just plain forest-y land with nowhere to hide from dragonfire. Maybe The Vale natives could've used their mountains to some tactical advantage but Visenya Targarayen didn't even give them any chance to engage in a war.
A guy named Theon saves the North from the Ironborn? Something something this will probably echo in the main story
Also, Robb was the only King who ruled the North and the Trident
Damn, first time I'm hearing about him and now I want a movie/show about the guy.
Ah, a Theon with balls.
Starks are awesome
If Ned were more Stark than Arryn/Tully the Lannisters would've been absolutely decimated by the end of the first book.
It took a Theon to defeat the Ironborn😮. 🤓😎✌🏻🤣
It seems that the best commanders in history that we get are always from the North. From Theon Stark to Roddy the Ruin, Cregan to Ned to Robb and Jon.
In fact Starks are good at war Ned was good, Rob was good
So that's why the Stark's don't have a naval fleet. They had to be nerfed.
When winter actually came
Homie legit sailed across an ocean just to prove a point.
This was Starks in their prime, they were honourable but harsh when they needed to be. Now Ned has turned the house into a bunch of hippies that are betrayed by everyone because no one is scared of them 😂
THE KING IN NORTH!!!
Now I see why Balon named Theon the way he did.
Meanwhile, Ned: “Meh, I can’t say no to a drunk buddy. Even after my parkour-expert kid falls suspiciously out of a window he’s climbed to thousands of times. I’ll just fuck up all our shit to make this jackass happy.”
Between guys like King Theon Stark and Lord Cregan Stark, it’s a wonder anyone would try to pick a fight with the North
The only stark to actually act like a viking.
That is how Jon snow should jave ruled.
Would love to see a short lived mini-series on this stark king
I just wanna take a second and say that Theon Stark looks a lot like Jon Snow here. 😂😂😂
Basically tywin Lannister on steroids.
Now I wanna see THIS adapted too! So many great stories in Westerosi lore!
I like Ned his pride and honour and feel for justice, but see stark to be so badass bro I would like to see
Bro IS Winter 😭🙏🙏
Never anger a wolf
I really wanna see theon stark leading the north during the war of the five kings
These are one of the few badass Starks. In reality the Starks history wasn’t this glorious and this is the greatest one. Most Starks just hid in the north and did not do much in their reigns as lords or kings. Theon and Ned Stark were the few great ones
When you fuck around, He is how you find out.
The North remembers. The King in the North!
Without a doubt cregan took inspiration from him
Need a show about this badass
I actually would not mind at all if HBO produced one off movies of ASOIAF characters like this would definitely be cool to watch and you wouldn’t have to dedicate a whole show to them while still probably making a pretty penny at the box office
Damn that’s pretty badass
Nah, Brann the Broken was a much better king. He had a good story, nothing beats that.
who else thought of Brendan Stark (Brendan the builder who built the wall and hightower)
This is the prequel we need
Bro woke up one day and decided to do war crimes and trauma
This could be a whole season
The north remembers...
Now that is bad ass
Bronn was right all the great houses had at least one hard bastard that was willing to get his hands dirty and Theon Stark was clearly it
