If there one thing I noticed about Arknights UI design and general aesthetic is that curve is rarely used, almost everything have pointy edge. Everything is made of triangle, even when the enemy die they turn into triangle.
The blocky, square elements trend harkens back to the minimalist style that is closely related to the Industrial Era (if you watched Rice's LT video). I think its most recent trend was started by Windows 8 back in 2012. That is to say, AK UI design follows this modern minimalistic principles; and now, many newer gachas follow similar template and principles as AK main menu has.
I remember when I started, I thought Vanilla is the girl on the loading screen. I was thinking, that it is cool they put insignificant NPC as a playable character. 😂 This makes me remember that the visual design, while simple, is created that way for us the players. Thank you for the video!
I don't play Arknights, but I am fascinated by their worldbuilding, characters and variety. CC like your channel is a breath fresh of air. Bless you and enjoy a happy holiday!
The 5 you mentioned which are the general loading screens were there in the beginning (they gave me a good read while i was downloading the game.) The other 3 specific loading screens were added later on which is why they are specific and why the Londinium one is longer than others. "Lungmen" was added in ch5, "Ursus" was added in ch7 and "Londinium" was added in ch9. Also, nice breakdown vid. You made me appreciate the design more.
That end scene with the ingame loading screen with sounds was a really nice touch. Even the music on it enhances what you explained in the video and provides a solid example for the general asthetic of Arknights. Sci-fi, industrial, formal but also chill and cool.
I never thought about things like these before, but watching your videos gives me new appreciation to how phenomenal the design of Arknights is, merry Christmas and have a happy new year, and here's to many more videos to come
just wanted to say i love these design analysis-type videos of arknights! 3 years ago i also did a UX analysis on arknights for a class, and im glad to see theres more people who also really appreciate the visual details of this game. please keep doing these
I really enjoy this look at Arknights, I dont think we have much, if any, videos taking in depth looks at the visual and graphics design in such a technical way. And that is despite people generally remarking about certain parts of the ui and its aesthetics being striking whenever someone discovers the game and streams their journey. As far as aspects go that stand out to me: The whole appeal of the fashion gallery (sorted by brands) and its submenus. The way the faux brands are presented in a way that feels so sleek and real.
Came because I thought this was gonna be the title theme extended (and didnt notice how recent the vid was, oopsie), stayed for the well-constructed and in-depth analysis. Hope you have a good holiday and happy new years, and here's hoping for many more excellent videos in 2024
Another great graphic design analysis, man that ending genuinely had me a bit emotional watching and realising how much time has passed. Great video dude!
Honestly love your arknights content, it's so unique in this community that focuses so much on either gacha pull streams, guides or unit breakdowns ^_^
Man, I've been playing arknights for years and from the beginning, it's always had a certain aesthetic that went beyond just the art and world, watching your videos really helps me put to words the things which I love about one of my favorite games, I hope to see more videos like this one, and I hope you have happy holidays and a great new year!
ive only just found you through your lone trail video, but the delight when i saw this video pop up in my recommendations was beyond compare i put down all my other videos just to watch it!! i love your analysis, its clean and succinct without becoming overbearingly technical! theyre wonderful to watch
Awesome job going outside the usual content box and making a whole video for one of the more underappreciated parts of the game. These are the sorts of things I observe and think about a lot and it's nice to see someone else thinking/appreciating it in the same way. I think they're due to add more loading screen slides -- both because longtime players have already read these dozens of times, and because there's lots of other important concepts new players should be exposed to while loading!
Video Suggestion: Talk about the history of UI design, especially on the operator selection cuz I remember how the old one used to be bad and how it got better in the future, you can explain the old issues that are fixed
If I can make a suggestion, I’d find it interesting so see an analysis about Pinch Out’s interface and why it was so confusing especially next to CC whose interface is so much easier to understand. But great video! Really interesting to see how something as seemingly mundane as a loading screen has so much thought behind it, I especially never thought of how much just the oripathy image tells you. Loved your video about LoneTrail too!
great vid, I'm glad I subbed really hope you do more whenever and if ever you wish to do so, I think people making these type of things are invaluable and important
@@HalfACupOfRice you could also check out the different fictional brands the ingame skins are associated with and how they are presented in different menus. If it's not too much work of course.

Consumed by the triangle, as they are incapable of escaping.

When so much effort was placed in something as "simple" as the login screen, you know this game is special
Virtually every gacha game out there
i forgot it was a video and was trying to get into my game by tapping screen... damn...
Hahaha

*_I LOVE THESE BREAKDOWNS ON DESIGN YESSSSSSSSS_*

Looking forward to your growth as a content creator, dude. These design videos are great.

Man your breakdowns on graphic designs of the game are so interesting. Great vid
comes for Arknights content, leaving with lesson about user interface design and typography.

Using "I want to see a brief future" from Sweet dove was a very welcome surprise. Amazing video, im so glad youtube recommend them to me

Great video! Loved it and agree with it wholely. HG has always had some great topography and i hope it transfers well into endfield too.
Found ya~
Thank you for continuing this series. Really appreciate it.
Bro i really love your breakdowns in designs, in your lone trail vid I was able to do Constructivism Art
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that my video was able to help.
your welcome
@@Kianaxoxo1 certainly! Would make for a great video topic.
dang this so good, need more of ak design explanation like this
Still longing for first version of loading BGM. It is where my first memories of playing Arknights game is bound.

Man you have perfectly captured what I felt whenever I first started the game, completely enchanted with this world I swear.
Love these video essays you have put out. Thanks for sharing!
Nice work for game I love. I dont know design, but this is so good to watch. Thanks!
I don't no man.... I really love this industrial aesthetic arknights has goin
Now, we're truly in the ark of knights
I like it "Lv 1" reference to home screen design at 6:44
Merry Christmas

Certainly would be a interesting topic! I'll keep it in mind.
Subscribed. Great video. The banger music tracks also help ppl stay on the loading screens and event splash screens longer.
Great vid tbh, im starting to appreciate graphic designs more and more

1:29 10/10 pronunciation, very impressed XD
You need more spotlights for content creating for AK
Finally. The Ark nights.
great video

Thank you! I'll do my best with future videos!
What a great video man, 🔥
happy 3 year anniversary and a banger video once more, hope to see way more from you in the future!
Thank you!
Not as cool as the vid about Lone Trail, but also interesting to watch and to learn something new about design
Arknights UI makes arknights not look like a cheap gacha game with their convoluted buttons
Maybe for other day, can you analyst the design of countries and factions logo in AK?
Another idea added to my bucket list haha
