They did this to Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, too, which is why the Robo Squidward boss battle wound up getting neutered and turned into a crappy multiplayer mode because the devs weren't given enough time to implement Robo Squidward as a proper boss fight.

Yeah, the budget is entirely on Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 have the same issue. Well developed game, lots of features, even local/online multiplayer, but lacks voices. Hoping All Star Brawl can buck the trend and get post-game support. I think it's a pretty quality game personally.

Unlike most platform fighters, this is definitely aimed at experienced Smash players rather than trying to get casual players considering that it mostly contains simple modes but has a more focus on the standard combat.

Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion is the opposite. More casual content but the gameplay is off for people. They had less reason to go back and not enough casual players stuck around after the story.

This game is so bizarrely made. Also, why is tophs up air holding up a belt? I know that an "iconic pose" but it's a thing that happened for one second in one episode and is literally never even mentioned again. It could have just been her taunt or something, but why is it an attack!? Why would toph do that? My enemy is above me, better hold up my belt trophy! That'll do the job! Why in the actual hell is jump mapped to x by default. In a game where you 90% of your time is spent on platforms in the air and you have to jump, they decided to put it on the button farthest from your hand.
The only problem I've a problem with is the delay on movements to combos there's about 2 frames in between pulling of a combo and moving and sometimes even doesn't move. Nick really needs to fix this in a update

This right here. Nick seemed to just add in things like rollback netcode and wavedashing and ignored the other details. Smash on the other hand has so many minute details added into its fighters and modes that it's insane, while still being a very competent game all around.

The devs made Slap City, so we already know they're an indie team with love for platform fighters, and I think the framework for something great is here but... Yeah. Kinda sad to see this game get absolutely shit on especially by a lot of people that haven't even played it or expect it to be as good as smash despite having like 1/100th of the budget. The devs are experienced with platform fighting games and have done nothing but do their best to provide a fun experience for smash and fighting game enjoyers, and have put their heart and soul into this with the budget they had. There will be more content such as dlc (garfield and Garfield stage have already been leaked), and there has been talk about voice acting if it does well. Even then the modding community has already started working on voice mods. Please give this game a chance instead of beating it into the ground.
