I find your method of delivery humourous and helpful. I usually study late and need to stay awake. These videos usually do the trick and redirect me on the right track when I am struggling with an ABA concept. Thank you for making these.
John Watson (methodological): black box that we can’t see and won’t worry about. Skinner (Radical): covert events are still bx and we must consider and account for them. Although difficult to do; it’s still bx! Great post!
I wouldn’t say it was “founded” rather formulated over decades. However, you could argue that Skinner’s Science and Human Behavior (1953) is a decent birthplace.
I don't know why. Maybe I'm confused in the way he is presenting it, but according to my professor who was a student of B. F. Skinner and teaches at the UC of Davis, the belief of Radical Behaviorism is "Mental processes either don't exist or are epiphenomenal (have no usual impact on behavior)", while methodological behaviorism believed "mental activity may exist, but it cannot be observed and cannot be studied scientifically. Behavior can be observed, so it can be studied scientifically". So if I'm hearing him correctly it is backward?
You’ve got it backwards my friend. Feel free to ask your prof. Watson - methodological. Skinner - radical. It’s what made him RADICAL compared to Watson - he was ok with internal events just that they only have an audience of one.
@@PsychCore I'm sorry but I thought you meant in general which was surprising to me! My apologies for the misunderstanding. On a side note, please keep up the good work! Your videos are incredibly helpful, entertaining, and for the most part, short and to the point! You explain complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand and I just wanted to say thank you and keep it up!

When was radical behavorism founded?

You've never heard Skinner speak?
Well not in person, no. Plenty of times via recordings.

Well thank you for the big reinforcer! Please let us know if there is a topic you think we need to cover.
Good information, but the method of presentation is terrible. Shouting, screaming, circus.
