  • What can a Sol-Ark 15K and EG4-V2 6 Battery Rack system do? From sunny days to inclement weather, I’ve put this system to the test. If you came to our home you would have no idea we were off grid. We have every appliance a normal house has including electric water heater, electric dryer, microwave, 2 well pumps, 2 refrigerators, 2 freezers and 2.5 ton central air. We do not run a conventional heater, we heat 100% with an indoor wood stove. We have had grid tied solar for 5 years and have learned to manage our loads, maximizing efficiency. To increase her confidence, I told my wife to break our own rules and run whatever she wanted.

Didn’t skimp on the disconnect I see. Those Siemens double throws are crazy expensive. Nice setup 👍

They are each 5.1kwh / 100ah. So total in rack, 600 amp hour, 30 kwh. We have had a rainy spring with lots of clouds but the battery state of charge has averaged 84% to 88% when I get up in the morning. Then the batteries are full again by afternoon. We try to run heavy loads only when its sunny to partly sunny. We practiced for 5 years with grid tied solar so we could really nail down our power usage.

I purchased mine from Signature Solar in Texas. They run sales frequently to include at times, free shipping. They also have excellent customer and tech support.
