I was so addicted to this show in the 80's and I can't remember what happened in the episodes but the theme song has been stuck in my head for years . I was a 70's baby and an 80's child
I love how the opening sequence of the show is basically a wet t-shirt contest mixed with shots of the outback. These blokes knew how to attract an audience in 1970s Australia.
Watching this again after so many years mase me feel quite emotional, remembering life as a child and watching this show on a Saturday afternoon at my grandma's house ❤
Anyone remember the Aussie books "Across the Top" and "The Red Rover". My first FWD was an Austin Gypsy - a bugger of a vehicle. In 1976 I bought my first Landie, a Series 2A diesel and today I still drive my LR County which is an '86 model! Times sure have changed and I loved to watch these blokes on TV!
Rick A me too, and I’m 55. I live in Argentina now, and was watching have you been paying attention from and there was Glenn Robbins, thought about Russell quoit and that led me to the layland bros. A great show. I don’t think things went to well for them after the show ended.
@@shanewilson398 great show Russel's great Aussie Adventures. Mal and his daughter are starting up a new Leyland show. As all the others are passed away. Saw them talking to Carl stephanovic about it. That was before this mess where in happened.
When I was a kid my parents travelled around Aus in a Kombi van. We would spend at least a month or two of the year on the road and waking up in a different town, different place every morning was the best...
You'll probably never get to see this but that's just made my day. It's been reported that King Charles used to have tapes of Kevin bloody Wilson and his royal limo lol
i live in Newcastle (where the brothers were from) and it turns out my next-door neighbour was the mechanic who made the modifications to their classic landrover. he also toured with them! nice guy too!
I also grew up in Newcastle. We would regularly see their Land Rover’s parked outside their home across from the Newcastle race track. National treasures those men.
Yes, I certainly remembered the wet t shirts, what do they have in the opening, at least 3.. bumbalaya bumbalaya bumbalaya bumbalaya bumbalaya bumbalaya......
I don't remember the wet t-shirt shots! As a kid in the 80's I remember the intro song (of course, sticks in your head) and I remember specifically the shot through the side window of the van looking at the passenger and driver, and the vague idea that there were shots of Australia. Maybe I was too young to care about boobies??
I have watched ALL the episodes of "Ask The Leyland Brothers" on RUclips up to episode 79. (I couldn't find any more episodes after that). All up, there were 156 episodes made between 1976-1984..... Will we get to see the other 77 episodes on RUclips ?
If the travel restrictions on going overseas continue on in the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic, we could be confined in Australia for a few years. To find somewhere to go anywhere in Australia as an alternative to travelling overseas, as a lucky country and we need travel ideas, "Ask the Leyland Brothers".
Haha I always wondered what happened to Mike and Mal, I reckon there would be a series in visiting all the places from the original series and seeing how things have changed, see if you can find anywhere that's as remote and untouched as when they last saw it. I wonder if they'd be up for this sort of traveling at their ages.
BertisVids ViewLorium is part of Flashback Entertainment which is the authorised company for all Leyland Brothers video content. As I am the Media Rep for Mal and have removed a lot of infringing material off RUclips etc for them, if you want to get a message to Mal, let me know and I will pass it on and ask him to reply.
+BertisVids Mal and his wife have a channel here on youtube that I'm subscribed to but they dont seem to have a lot of activity unfortunately.I loved them when I was younger and idolised them..used to wish it was me having all the adventures they did :-)
+catey62 No, Mal and his wife do not have a channel here on RUclips. Any person creating a channel and calling themselves the Leyland's is clearly a misguided fan who is being fraudulent and inappropriate with their name and their material. The only authorised organisation allowed to upload videos of their old programs is this one (Viewlorium) which is part of Flashback Entertainment Group.

No. That was just normal society. Western women weren't as hilariously obese back then and dressed normally.

How does a spark plug inflate a tyre from dead flat, to fully inflated?.
It's not the spark plug but the exhaust from the cylinder.
