Two Russians from the handshake, apparently not close friends. Alexandrova has never been past the third round at a slam.. She's ready by the looks of it. It'd be a shame if she didn't at least make 4th round at Wimbledon. I could see her even making a semi, depending on the draw, of course.
The thing is she plays shots that are high risk/with little margin. When she's on, she makes some crazy shots, but she has to be on. She does play a pretty flat game, so grass suits her, but her game is also why she has some erratic losses.
Cold handshake because Alexandrova is a decent human and everyone knows that Kudermetova is a Putin supporter.
Go Ekat! Definitely one of the most underrated WTA players. Understated style but she can turn determination alone into victory.

I didn't have a favorite going in, but with the relentless grunting on every shot in set 3, I began rooting for Alexandrova!
I am so happy for Alexandrova. She played very good in this match and well deserved this tittle. She is slowly becoming very strong mentally.

@Djordje Nikolic never forgot her, she was fun to watch and always did really well at Wimbledon and the grass
@@rajsra3842 totally and i just looked it up she reached 4th round like 6 times in a row and a quarterfinal. With her usual ranking, it means she snatched wig of those seeded player every year to get to 4th round. Very impressive.

Alexandrova might even do better at Wimbledon. Kudermetova has been giving victories to weak players at slams very often. She usually flops when it matters the most. Same with Haddad Maia, before she reached semis in Paris.
Maia is overrated, she lost to Snigur this week. She usually never makes it to the 2nd week of a slam.

Could someone explain the extraordinary name of the location of this tournament? Why the 's ??
It means "The Duke's Forest", and the s' is a contraction of the genitive case (showing who the forest belongs to) in old Dutch.
Both should try to go deep in Grand Slams and pass that 3rd round hurdle. They should work on how to win more rounds in the Slams. That's where both are totally miserable but usually played quite alright in the WTA Tour.

Because she has better results in other tournaments. Only your 16 best tournaments count towards your ranking points. **But the total must include points from the 4 Grand Slams, the 4 Premier Mandatory tournaments and the WTA Finals. In addition, for Top 20 players, their best two results at Premier 5 tournaments will also count. All of Sabalenka's points used for scoring are higher than the points from a final at a small 250 tournament
