I really wished Hasbro actually did a proper 6 Combiner Liokaiser way back or Takara managed to do a G1 Reissue of Missing Link or something for him. Him and Raiden are some of the rarest and expensive Combiners go find.
Great review! Can't wait to get mine as well. Iron Factory has definitely hit it out of the park with this set so far. I kind of hope they give Dinoking and Monstructor the same treatment one day (with or without the shellls).
I still think Liokaiser is the best-looking combiner. The colors the head sculpt I have a couple of the Combiners War combiners, and he is my favorite one. I wish I could get this one cause he looks awesome
I've picked up a few IF figures recently and I really love the build quality & designs, this may be a pickup I have to search for to have more combiners in my collection.
This set is really coming together. I can’t wait for the next two pieces so we can have a complete robot. Liokaiser is already looking amazing next to HasLab Star Saber.
I’m overall looking forward to this, but I didn’t realize just how much it takes a page from Legacy Menasor’s book (ie the gestalt is a skeleton everyone plugs in to). Also, personal headcanon name for the DJD gestalt is “ Altihex”, following DJD naming convention
The falling over bit? That wasn't concern over the internet hurting *me*, I just wanted to make sure no one went and started any crap on their video. It was a reference, not a dig.
This guy is really fun, especially in his robot form. The detailing is superb. However, you say right at the beginning of the review (around the 50sec mark) that he comes in his jet mode, which is just patently false. I don't know why you would lie about that unless you just forgot how he was packaged or didn't want to show the robot to jet transformation. That's actually the main reason I came to check him out since IF's instructions for this set have been notoriously vague on several steps. I wanted to see if there were any surprises from robot to jet and unfortunately find you both lacking in that aspect as well as not being honest.
That was a mistake and absolutely not an intentional misrepresentation. I meant to say "we'll start with his jet mode," and you can hear that I had a hang up in my throat in the middle of that line that threw off my train of thought. I do apologize, it was not on purpose or meant to deceive. Which steps did you feel were vague in the instructions? The only one I recall being unclear was that they don't show the head being turned around to change to torso mode, which I mention in the video, but if there was something else that you feel was missing I can try to clarify.

Someone mentioned Hasbro/Takara should do reissue/ML versions of all the old gold plastic suffering figures and I think that would be a good idea.
Sign me up for a reissue/ML Pyro, Thunderclash, and Skyquake.

I would love a good Monstructor with shells at some point.

This guy looks great! We need more modern Victory figures
Thankfully we've been getting some good ones lately!

You should!

Yeah, even one arm would be nice just to get a idea of the full dimensions.
Gonna enjoy watching the movie for myself!
Cannot WAIT to get these guys and put them up on the shelf next to TFC's Liokaiser. Hopefully Iron Factory will announce a Deathsaurus sometime soon!
That would be cool, but I suspect it would be too tiny, as they tend to stick to this size versus scale for most of their stuff.

I like it!
That’s funny “Please internet don’t hurt me” moment

Does it look like it has a smaller upper half compared to the chunky legs because of the camera angle?
I'm surprised how little there is to the torso piece compared to the legs. Not even a spine to connect to the hip piece.
It's definitely their best set so far
It really is.
